I wonder what handicap we can assign Ben and still see if he can win... I mean if Sloan can place in the top 5 with no grids on platinum, surely Ben can place top 4 with a Rock Man Dan plot?

Hey, RMD has good plots... Nah, field is crazy good and plenty of guys here who I'd be nervy about going one on one with. After all the courses I've seen in Dream Team, I'm under no illusions here. Between me and the field, I'd take the field 100 times out of 100. Good news is that I have an idea I love and that's all you'll be hearing from me until publish  |

I hearby declare the construction window for the World Cup open! You have until 11:59 pm ET March 31, 2021 to submit your course (Opening date of the publish window TBA). * If you have already registered and are tagged above, you may begin construction of your course. * If you have not already registered, you may still do so until Dec. 28, however, you cannot begin construction until you are registered. At present, we have 50 contestants for 32 spots. Obviously not everyone is going to get in, though it's too early to tell who's in yet because 1) people still have two weeks to enter and 2) I will be updating the TGCT database numbers of each contestant after the Dec. 28 registration deadline, which could affect the rankings. The question has been posed about what to do if it doesn't look like you will get in the field of 32, or could be one of the alternates. Based on the interest of those not making the main field, I want to run a side, 9-hole contest that would be judged by volunteers within the qualifying field of 32. The reward would be a spot in the 2022 World Cup to the winner. Full details would be announced following our selection show Dec. 31. Good luck, and have fun! Oh man!! So excited to get started! |

Still 2 days left to enter if anyone is interested. Here's how I plan for it to go down, and some of the timing depends on my work schedule this week. 12/28 -- Registration closes at 11:59 p.m EST 12/31 -- Field/alternated finalized, announced on forums (time TBD) 1/2 -- WCOD draw show on Twitch Thinking 5 p.m. ET Jan. 2 for the draw show as to not be absurdly late for our friends across the pond (read: doesn't want to hear b101 whinge about how late the show is  ). Will finalize details in the next couple of days and keep everyone posted. |

Just in the sake of full disclosure, while final numbers could change a little bit between now and 12/28, for anyone looking to enter who has not participated in any official TGCT contests over the last two seasons (2019 World Cup and on), you will likely need to have a MINIMUM of 8 courses on tour and/or 15+ tour worthy courses in order to be in the hunt for one of the 32 spots in the main field. For those who have participated in contests the last two years, that number will be less as contest performance makes up 75% of the scoring formula used to determine the field, while overall TGC course portfolio makes up 25%. Again, a smaller, side contest will be made available for those who do not get in the main field, but just want to be up front with newer designers looking to join. At this point, without participation in the last two years of contests and/or a substantial design portfolio, you're likely looking at a spot in the side contest. Was just going to ask this question, thanks for posting. And about as I anticipated! |
