Can’t speak for all judges but my take on OB is similar. We know it’s a pain to place and I also know from lots of experience with courses on Platinum that people moan like hell when they find it, regardless of what stupid shot they’ve hit. IMO, if it’s in a sensible place where I wouldn’t be able to retrieve my ball (ravine, cliffside etc), I’m all for it. You can’t spline it - ffs HB - or make it a second surface, so we know there are limitations.

trying to recreate the Mona Lisa w/ a wet mop. You can't do that? I thought you were good.

I'm curious. How long did it take you to create that football field? Let alone the baseball, softball, soccer fields, and all other buildings. That field looks like a pain in the ass, but the track had to be just as frustrating lol.

I've now played this course a few times and wow, it is perfect. Ended up playing Black tees pin 3 with very high winds + 187 greens and shot a -2. I think 187 greens are ok at least on this pinset! This course is great in that it might be easy to get par (on most holes) but rather difficult to get birdie without factoring all the subtle strategy into account. The greens are menacing but not unfair and the course doesnt play that long as all the longest holes tend to be doglegs.
As someone who lived in SF for a while and actually regularly went to the college across the street from Harding park (nice football stadium lol), you really nailed the look of the Lake Merced area to a tee. Even the weather was fitting!
My Favorite Hole is Definitely Hole 9. I don't think I've yet to play it well despite it being such a short hole, it's a tricky one for sure!

The measure tool was definitely my friend!

Just finished my second round. First round was on pin 3 as well and I shot -8 with no bogies on default conditions. Thought it seemed a little easy. Then I played pin 4. Definitely harder, as I bogied the first two holes and ended up shooting +1. Both 9 and 18 are fantastic but very demanding. Lots of different challenges and strategies involved throughout. Great course.

The football field is the most ludicrous thing that I've seen in this game. It's like a ship in a bottle.

Just finished playing and my first thought was... "did the update mess up the weather, since it's so overcast" then my second thought was "maybe this course is in the Bay Area with the overcast, smog & fire/ash fill skies. :-)
Really captured the muni experience and while I only saw the stadium, etc on pictures here, the environment, hole routing and even buildings near the course without only a green canvas fence between the two is the essence of most muni's I played on over the years. The number of doglegs that are built pronounced due to land costs, etc was captured here too.
With all of the crazy courses being built it was nice to play on a course that felt like a virtual walk interrupted by an occasional shot, rather than being bludgeoned with penal shots on every shot.
Well done indeed!

Even without all the wonderful 'camera mode' content, this course is simply amazing. The hole layouts, shot design and pin placements show an attention to detail I rarely see on fictional courses. This course is now in my regular rotation. Bravo!
