Just played. Why was this so good? Because it played like a real course. These are the ones that standout for me. Instant favourite! Thanks for your good work.

The last time I played at Harding Park was in a cold, soggy downpour a few Decembers ago and I was the only person on the course for most of the round. I absolutely loved my round that day because it felt like my own private club in the middle of the city. My first round at Merced Muni felt the exact same way. I could hear all of the sights and sounds, take in the visuals that are quintessentially San Francisco, and then hit solid golf shots around an interesting golf course (of which Harding Park is not very interesting IMO). The best part was I wasn't soaked from head to toe and balls would bounce instead of plug on every shot! I did get this horrendous break for what appeared to otherwise be a perfectly executed shot. I honestly thought mayday_golf83 might've intentionally snuck the tiny window in the trees in there until I was ejected into the lake. I also found the OB left of 18 green had crept just a little bit into the green grass on the hillside (because somehow my ball stayed up there)...so can we label this gem left coast Evangelist? 😉

What a great course. You really captured that Muni vibe, the trees and land just really feel so natural. Favorite hole was the 13th, just framed so nicely. Nice work! Good luck in the competition.

Looks great Jeremy, looking forward to my round - luckily with it being a municipal I was able to get a twilight round nice and cheap!

Man, this is the kind of course I dream about building. Such a well-realized and realistic golf course. Felt like I was playing a real course. Seemingly simple planting, but it feels like every tree and object has been place in the perfect spots. The sloping and the terrain is so well done, the greens feel great. I was only able to get through 13-14 holes last night, but I hope to finish the round later today. Keep up the great work.

This is an amazing course! A great vibe and feel to it as if you can see yourself playing it in real life. Your tree style you went with fit perfectly and was done 10/10. A couple trees overhanging the fairway make you think about hitting a straight shot. Your planting was great and even the background stuff was amazing!
The only issue I had was the OB area around the gorge. I ran into the same issues of people complaining from my course Acadia Club. When you land in the Rough on either side the you are marked as out of bounds even though you’re away from the markers. This is a game issue not a designer issue I believe but I wanted to point it out because I would also like tips on this. I got a lot of heat for it before and I think this might get some also. I played two rounds and it happened both times.
Regardless this is my new favourite course and will be recommenced to everyone that asks for a course! Unreal feel and design, congrats!!!

HB’s designer tool for OB is just so good though. 🤔

OK, so here's my take on OB, seeing that people have brought it up both on this and Evangelist.
Painting OB in this game is like trying to recreate the Mona Lisa w/ a wet mop. You can use the back of the kidney bean to get it "close" but HB is always going to draw it as little squares as opposed to a natural line/curve. Also OB markers are merely a suggestion in this game, and our efforts to perfectly align the stakes w/ the OB took a hit in 2K21 b/c HB had the brilliant idea to take away the feature that let you see the OB while planting OB stakes. Would love to see HB address these issues, but we still don't have proper penalty area drops, so ...
Because of that, my take on OB is this -- if I as a player, don't want to be OB, I'm not going to flirt with the OB. The "clues" we can give you as designers (stakes, grass lines) are never going to be inch perfect. The clues may say you're in while the game says you're out, or vice versa, and I think that's where people get hung up. But I've played plenty IRL courses where the stakes are kittywampus or, if there's a OB line, it's not perfectly straight between stakes. In both instances I know, if I flirt w/ the OB line, I might get lucky or I might have to rehit.

Blown away really by this environment. Truly, truly, TRULY looked and felt like a municipal course. Spot on sir. Hopefully we can play this next week and avoid this OB bullshit in multiplayer action but you never know where my balls end up. Sometimes they end up on someone's chin after a hole out.
