I guess there is something wrong in the spreadsheet with our match. There are no points given in the last round. You might be aware of this, but i thought i give you a heads up.

Week 8, what about it as we go into the final week? Well...
The Goldmembers are on winning ways at the right time to be a massive spoiler, knocking off championship hopefuls The Green Lovesauce by a score of 16.5 - 7.5 with a final round sweep. Anderegg and van Smijt of the Golden Members prove their worth with 4, Collins outduels Pansegrau in a top fight of 2 phenomenal players by a score of 3-1 while both score -70. Gaudreault of the Sauce score 3 for their team for much needed points.
Another battle that might prove to be crucial for the standings: Grip It & Sip It downs 2 Packs & A Case in a battle of ampersands 16.5 - 7.5 and solidify their chances at top three minimum, while still holding on to some hope for a championship. Webb's -70 for 3.5 leads the way in a tight team effort, as the entire team outshoots the Packs by 31 shots. Hashimoto had a notable -74 this week, shame it only got rewarded with 2.5 points.
Tree Hundred Turdy Three Yards hold on to their distant hopes by snapping out of their losing slide. Down goes Crapsters 'R' Us 15.5 - 8.5, while scoring a total team shot count of... -333, of course. 3.5 awarded to Pinn and Couturier of the Yards, meanwhile Santos shoots anything but crap -76 on this week and again, only 2.5 points. Big scores, smaller rewards.
Very Firm. Very Fast. narrowly defeats DeLaet Release 13 - 11 and therefore keep their chances alive. Not much else to really point out here, it was about as close as it can get in the shot counter too. 331 for VFs, 323 to the Release. Biggest win for either team was in round 1, which went to the overall winner of the match 4-2.
A Rundown Dirty Shame can claim a victory even in a tie this week, as they are the ones dealing a blemish to the perfect record of Birds With Big Wings. 5-1 final round beating is the reason the Wings pulled it back to make this one a tied game. Schneider and Talley with 3, Musselman on the other side with 4 the leading point scorers in this one.
Team leaderboard and speculations going into final week: Birds With Big Wings lead the way with 123.5 points. 16 ahead of anyone else and comfortable tiebreaker in hand, scoring 8.5 points outright guarantees the championship. Grip It & Sip It bounced into second, them and The Green Lovesauce is a tight battle for likely second place at most, 107.5 to 106.5 respectively. Either team winning big and Wings blowing it can open up the championship still, but it's going to need a bit of drama... could it happen again? The toughest situation is with Very Firm. Very Fast. and Tree Hundred Turdy Three Yards. They take each other on in the final week, so they can both play each other out of top three running. VFs are closer of the 2 sitting at 100 points and 7.5 out of second, but both still have a shot with a big win over the other. 2 Packs & A Case are at 93, big time outsiders looking to sneak in. And while I wish for outright miracles to happen while there's still a chance left, DeLaet Release and The Goldmembers sitting at 85.5 have a theoretical chance for top 3 but it needs way too much to go right for them. Crapsters 'R' Us and A Rundown Dirty Shame now have the role of final week spoiler on them, because their shot is a downright zero. Honestly a little surprising that it took until week 8 to mathematically knock out any team out of contention. Individual Sky Blue battle is between two big winged teammates: Cassino leads by 2 over Lasko, first mentioned can only finish second at worst. They haven't scored the biggest shot total, but points are what counts.
Week 9, the final: Rex Chapman Bluegrass Classic @ Umpqua National, by Eric Perego. Course looks like a fun stroll in the Oregon woodland areas. This week seems to start off slow in toughness and then bumps up through the week. Top match: too many to pick, plenty to play for in many matches so pick one that hits closest to you.
Cheers, and best of luck!

[Sets Jim Nantz dial to 11] Hello friends. [Turns down Jim Nantz] As another season of Happy Tee Friends comes to a close, it is time for the Secretariat of the Secretariat Cup to once again rise for its ninth iteration! Instead of coordinating as a team, you will instead be relying on no one but yourself in order to win the prestigious red and white striped tee. The SotS Cup is a two week event. The first week begins at midnight GMT on Saturday and consists of a four round qualification event. If you wish to participate, simply play your four (4) Challenge Circuit rounds and report them in the score-reporting channel just like you would in a typical HTF week. The Top 16 will qualify for Week 2. All HTF participants, including those on the waiting/substitute list, are invited to participate. The lucky 16 qualifiers will then participate in a seeded 4-round match play event to determine the SotS Cup Champion of the World. IMPORTANT: During the second week of the Cup, each round will have a deadline for reporting in the score-reporting channel to ensure a smooth transition from round to round. 1st Round - 11:59 PM GMT Monday 2nd Round - 11:59 PM GMT Tuesday 3rd Round - 11:59 PM GMT Thursday 4th Round - 11:59 PM GMT Friday The qualifying week does not have a reporting deadline other than the close of the week on TGCTours. ALSO IMPORTANT: When reporting scores for the match play week, REPORT YOUR FULL SCORECARD either by typing out your score on each hole or posting a screenshot of your scorecard. Failure to report on time will result in a forfeit. Scores will be input onto the Fully Automated Spreadsheet--linked below--by yours truly. Winners will advance to the subsequent round; losers will be cast into the Pit of Eternal Despair and Pot Bunkers. The spreadsheet can be found here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o1lSchtQNNTJkopjBufXC-9KviBqMyPhfCRaLOcetUo/edit?usp=drivesdkGood luck to all participants!

Well there we have it, regular season part of season 9 is now over!
Sad to say, the least important match from the eyes of a neutral fan this week was this one between DeLaet Release and 2 Packs & A Case. It was a close 12.5 - 11.5 affair, winners being the Packs. Beaten by 3 shots 307 - 304, but half a point ahead. A close call this one, well finished!
So that's that for "placement matches"! 4th and 5th placers took each other for top 3 hopes. Very Firm. Very Fast. entered the week in 4th, looking to bounce up into the top 3. Only issue was that Tree Hundred Turdy Three Yards wanted to jump up there too, from slightly further back away! The Yards win 13.5 - 10.5. Couturier finishes strong with 4 points for the Yards, Jones and Hanevik the carrying on force the other side with 3.5 and 3.
Coming into this week, the top battle was for 2nd and 3rd. The Green Lovesauce started the week trailing by 1 point, but demolishes the relegated to spoiler role team of A Rundown Dirty Shame by 18-6. Points galore for pretty much all Sauce team members, Tagariello scores 2.5 the other way for almost half the total.
Grip It & Sip It was the other half of the battle. In 2nd going into the week, they needed to beat the in form Goldmembers team. Which they did, 14-10. Was looking bad before the final round, but the Grip on the final round got too tight around the neck as it goes 5-1. Collins with a steady 3, meanwhile Gwyn with 3 points helps the winner, as does the top point scorer, uhh... Pihlman with 3.5? No writer bias here, just facts!
Final score recap is a tie. 3rd straight week running, and the second for this team: Birds With Big Wings came into this week looking to secure the championship. They had to go through Crapsters 'R' Us. I don't know, those Big Birds sure love their drama, again a final round comeback with 5-1 total score. Santos and Melissen the not very crappy notables with 3.5 each, more of an overall effort for the Wings.
Onto the festivities! Big congratulations are in order for Birds With Big Wings, as they secure the team championship of season 9 and taking home the golden tees! They finish the season sitting at 135.5 points, averaging about 15.1 a week. No two words about it, this team took the reins of leadership on week 1 with their first warning shot, then relinquished the lead for 2 weeks for their season low 2nd place for that span, then came back in week 4, and after a smashing week 5 never looked back again. 2 ties in the last 2 weeks made them a little shakier but no harm done.
Second place finishers for silver tees after a heated battle in the second half of the season is The Green Lovesauce. Neck and neck battle to the finish line with the bronze finishing rivals, they took it home, and deservedly so. Always a top half performer from week 1, rose up to challenge in week 4 and without the big gap forming up in week 5 could have maybe been a championship contender had the season gone further down the line as the championship winner finally started showing slight weakness. 124.5 points with the average of 13.8, their top pool players being the force to be reckoned with despite those being the toughest place to find success in. Well played!
Third place this season goes to Grip It & Sip It. They had the rockiest season to start with out of the top 3: 7th after week 1, up to 5th after 3 weeks and was then exchanging blows with the second placers on a weekly basis. This might have been the battle of the season, as second place was switched between these 2 teams 4 times between weeks 5 and 9. I suppose this team relied on overall team effort the most: no one player ever shined the brightest on any given week, as shown by the fact that only 1 player just cracks top 10 individually, yet somebody always stepped up. Whether it was from pool 1 or pool 6, everyone chipped in and thus, while they just fell short of second they still come home with bronze tees. Good job!
Individual sky blue tee winner this season is one Jesse Cassino, the SOTS Cup organizer! Winner by a score of 29.5 points, 3.3 average for a week. Who can possibly deny that? Nobody, that's who. Congratulations! 3 of the top 5 were in the winning team, notably Lasko in 2nd and Musselman in tied 4th but finishing 5th on tiebreaker.
Speaking of SOTS: are you human enough? Bot enough? Downright crazy enough to test your luck this week? Well you can! SOTS Cup qualifiers take place this week, on the week 45 event of CC: Ben Hogan Classic @ Alabama Flapjack, by Shaun Trayys. Scoring potential is a plenty this week as this course will get eaten alive as I assume it's one final calm before the playoff storm, going to need a very low score to qualify especially if all top guns decide to enter. Optional only mind you!
If you qualify for the SOTS Cup, next event is week 46: Jon Moxon West Canaan Classic @ Cape Henlopen Golf Links, by Ben Kolbe. Completely different from the qualifier course, could be a pro tour event if they felt like it! So that in mind the Cup itself could be very intriguing indeed.
After that, the break is on. Thanks for playing this season, good luck if you still need it or if you want to focus on what's ahead for the rest of the way. Thanks for reading these this season as I was coming in as the new guy, I know this is a lot to finish on but I feel like it's warranted for this last week of the season. I'll see if I will do one more for SOTS but not as long as this. Looking forward to more, whenever that may be! Cheers, and good luck!

Ok everyone:
To fill the space in the last two weeks before the end of the season, Kevin and I have brainstormed a match play tournament that will be much like the SotS Cup, but with a twist. I am calling this the Experimental Cup.
Players will be grouped into pools based on their Season 9 performance in HTF. Based on those pools, they will get a handicap for both qualifying week and match play week.
Pool 1 = scratch Pool 2 = -7 and 2 up Pool 3 = -12 and 3 up Pool 4 = -15 and 4 up Pool 5 = -19 and 5 up Pool 6 = -23 and 6 up
Outside of that, it works precisely the same as the SotS Cup: qualifying this week, top 16 advance to match play next. Same deadlines apply.
Tiebreaker for qualifying will be handicap, then R4 score, etc.
This is officially unofficial, so there may be some tweaks and changes here as we play with the format. The spreadsheet will be linked once the proper adjustments have been made.
I hope you participate, and enjoy the new format.
One additional note, if you didn't participate in S9, no worries. You'll be slotted into a pool based on the best judgment of the Shadow Council.

Great job by everyone again this season. Thanks.
