So now that I have released a full length course that uses Manipulated tee Order (The Bohemian Club), I have a better grasp of how it works and how to explain it.
I hope this one better explains how it works, sorry for the video stutter

This is great - I'm trying to work this into the Carolina Queen course I'm building because I'd like to have 3 sets of tees from various angles and lengths into all the holes instead of the less interesting front, middle, back. On a course like this, I think it would be great.
I'm using Xbox and tried the other day - thought I got one hole working, but then couldn't get another one. I'll rewatch the video, but am wondering that if I already set the tees the normal way without manipulating the waypoint, can I then change them if I use your method?
Or are they set and can't be changed?

I'm trying and watched the video again, but the tees keep resetting back to the original short, middle, long colors when I move the waypoint back down the fairway.
Will keep trying, because I'd love to do it and have already built the tee boxes to have 3 sets of tees with varying angles and distances so the holes play differently from each.
I must be doing something wrong, but not giving up! I assume that I'm on Xbox rather than PC shouldn't matter. Definitely appreciate the tutorial.

Is it for courses where a regular tee might be behind the tips for it to play as a par 5 for regulars and par 4 for the tips?

How did you figure this out? And what is the usefulness of it? Is it for courses where a regular tee might be behind the tips for it to play as a par 5 for regulars and par 4 for the tips? PGA Tournament setups. It allows you to treat the tees as "days" of a tournament. You can make your Red tees Thursday, Greens Friday, Blues Saturday, and Whites Sunday! Considering the front tees are usually on courses for nothing but realism now, It makes sense to make alternate tees for TGC tours purposes. On the pga tour, rarely is the same tee box used every day but generally the course remains at the same level of difficulty, yardages are usually added to holes and a similar amount is taken from others. For instance, Holes 4 and 6 trade distances with Hole 4 usually playing at it's longest (240) when Hole 6 plays at its shortest (160) and vice versa (4:180 - 6:190). On my course I used it as such: I wanted one par 4 to be driveable per day so Hole 5 was driveable from 2 of my tees (days 1 and 3) and hole 12 was driveable from 2 days as well (days 2 and 4). I also made both of my par 5s only play as a 600 yard hole 1 day of the week each and generally play as reachable in 2 from the other 3 days. I also made my par 3s rotate in length (one played 220 one day and 155 the next). If I didnt use this technique, My par 5s would all be 600 yards and there would be only 200 yard par 3s and no driveable par 4s from the back tees, then my second tee up would play tremendously easier with 2 driveable par 4s, all the par 5s reachable in 2, and no par 3s over 200 yards. hickoryghost, my course is no LIDO, but I still strongly recommend you play it from multiple tees to get a feel for how different the course plays from them without one being much harder than the other (try green than blue, they are the most drastically different from eachother). I am also going to post a current list of courses that are now using it as well as examples for what they can do for a course.

So how did you figure it out? Accidentally or through logic. That is really clever.

My 2 cents is that other than Q's really good explanation about Tour setups and mixing up hole lengths, in this game, hopefully it can just give people more reason to play a course again for the variety.
While I can put time into greens and trying to work in strategic driving and approach shot choices all I can, the bottom line is that most players probably don't pay that much attention, hit their drives, play the course, and move on.
If you can create 3 or 4 distinct driving angles and views from the tee and do what Q said, too, then along with 4 pin placements, maybe all those course permutations can just attract people back to play again (if the course is good in the first place).
I still can't figure it out - but actually started designing my course wondering if it could be done because on my first course, a reviewer played it, but picked the blue tees, and my first thought was that I didn't even put any time into designing from the blues. I just expected everyone to pick the default blacks.
Then his video timing was great, so all credit to him for sharing that.
