I play XBOX, problem #1, I'm in CCL ( lucky to be there IMO) What I don't understand is how I can shoot +20 in round 1 of this weeks event and +4 in round 2. Granted these are not terrific scores, and I know about pin placement and wind, but a 16 stroke differential seems rather extreme. I'm just hoping to be within 5 of par either way. There is always one or two rounds that go totally off the rails. I'm totally confused if it's me or the game. I've read multiple posts and know that XBOX has issues with tempo etc. and I have noticed that myself. I'm not a hard core player by any means but I play pretty much every day and this happens to me in every tournament. I'll keep playing but I just don't get it. Sometimes when I play the slow I a perfect which puts me in OB or jail. Then I play for perfect and get slow or fast and get? You got it! OB or jail. Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better now.

That is life on Xbox. You get tempo slightly wrong and the penalty is larger than on other systems, I think. Or it is just easier to go off tempo on Xbox, so more poor tempo equals more penalties. I know I can play well one round and poorly the next - all because of a slight loss of tempo.

As a mouse user I feel your pain, I have the same problems IRL golf wise so I'm actually glad it's translated over to this game lol

Pretty sure it happens to all of us mere virtual golfing mortals outside of the top 100 in the world rankings, haha. I'm in CC-A and played 2 practice rounds on last weeks course, shooting -10 and -8. First round I blew up to a +4 and then second round was -5. Just gotta keep pushing through and like in real golf hope that you have a consistent miss that you can play towards (ie I always aim down the right side in the game since I know 9/10 times I'm gonna hit my shots fast).

I generally hit toward the slow side. When I aim left to compensate, guess what? I get perfects or fasts and end up OB or in the schmutz on the left. LOl

I think it has a lot to do with 'nerves'.
Not saying you get anxious or nervous, but if you think about it, first round are you thinking "I need to shoot well " and then it goes sideways, so you start round 2, of course now you shoot better because back in your mind you know you're pretty much just playing to play because of the bad R1.
I know I do that...
.. and WTH can't I ever birdie the first hole?!? LOL
Good luck with your rounds!

I hear what you're saying and I don't discount the nerve factor. I have felt it. However, I guess my rant was more about my frustration with score fluctuations. I've had a good first round and totally messed up round 2 then bounced back in round 3 and 4. It just seems I always have one outlier round be it before the cut or after, that ruins my tournament. I'm not even hoping to win, I just want to move from the bottom of the bottom. Middle of the bottom would be ok for a while LOL. There are many factors, wind, pin placements, etc. I really like the game and will keep playing, I just needed to vent and appreciate everyone's feedback.

For the average player, not smashing the stick for fasts, tempo seems nearly impossible to control with even the slightest consistency. I often go from a very fast to a very slow without any perception of a big degree of deviation in my input. What I have noticed is that if I seem to be getting framerate fluctuation, my tempo really goes off the rails.

Happens IRL as well . Play great one day then the next time you go out it's like a different person is playing.
What's really crazy is irl I fight the left side of the course. Always played a fade so pulls and hooks are my miss. Same exact thing with this game. I am always fighting red fasts unless I'm trying to hit one.
For us scrubs it's not skill that is the problem. We have the ability to score we just suck at being consistent. I don't think that is something you can learn to be. If it is I have never found a way to hold it together for four rounds (once in a while I have) or day to day irl or this game.
