Ironic that in the last game, being a flicker or pusher was taboo, but in this game, playing the fast is acceptable. I wonder if the data allows for policing that, or if it's all good since the sites gone "competitive"? Playing for fast being 'acceptable' as you put it is simply a reflection of the gameplays shortcomings and inconsistency for many, especially on XB. So either go and make the makers fix their game or just accept it for what it is and stop wasting your energy whinging about it. You want to punish the fast so to speak? Go for it. That's a sure fire way to turn a lot of players away, because the game will be pretty much unplayable.

Pitchforks were put away and the horse blinders came out. Should those that didn't flick swing or use the push mechanism in TGC2019 have just "accepted it for what it is and stop wasting their energy"?

Curious, when I first started playing 2k21 it had a tutorial. It didn't say anything about aiming 30 yards right and play for the red fast. Why do so many people go against the way the game was designed to be played. Because you get lower scores? You can say the same about mathematical putting by counting how fast the lines on the green are running and then using the vibration on the controller for speed. Also IRL you aim to the right side of the fairway and draw the ball to the left, just like TGC, have you ever seen a pro golfer hit a straight drive? Probably not I have heard this point from others. While there is a point to that, you have the ability to do that by putting fade and draw on the shot, and hit it perfect tempo. I would argue that is the intention of the game, and fast and slow are meant to be a punishment for a bad swing. However, people are very good at these games and figuring out ways to be good. I think most people just play fast because it easier to get more consistently, which I think is an unfortunate mechanic of the game. I play perfect tempo, so I know it is possible. I just shot -60 on my practice round on the Challenge tour event with it. I'm not saying that to brag, but to just point that (fast) doesn't always "lower your scores" but it probably is easier for a lot of people, so they just do it. I think it has more to do with that fact than that people are using it to emulate real golf shots.

I wonder when you guys are going to get it into your thick skulls that playing for fast is, for the majority, not about making the game easier but more about simply making the game playable. As the poster said above, playing for the fast does not equate to an easier game. Tempo in the game is an inconsistent cluster **** for many.
If you're fortunate enough that the game performs well enough for you that hitting perfect or close to consistently is no biggie, then great for you. You now have an enjoyable, consistent and, above all, easier game to play.

I'm not exactly sure what those methods entailed (altho somewhat self-explanatory I suppose), but I believe they were largely considered to be blatant exploits. This is not the same thing. I wouldnt bother replying to this because I'm not entering into a tiresome explanation/debate as to why that is.

If you can consistently get a playable Red Fast in Master mode, you can consistently get a Perfect or Gray Fast/Slow. You won't hit every fairway, but who will? That's the point. Game will be difficult for everyone and not the current auto-pilot stick mashing version that we see. And if an API fix is even possible, it should be for Platinum only as there'd be too many unintended pulls for players who are actually struggling. You might not have the same success actually playing the game as designed (which is everyone's point!), but don't argue the game is unplayable. That's completely disingenuous.

I think you may have missed the point. Then please enlighten me. My understanding is that you want the game to be consistent and easier, where fairways and greens are automatic. Red fast allows for this, and it wouldn't be possible if you played the game as intended. If that's the case, then play Pro difficulty - problem solved.

All I can say is try playing for perfects on Xbox, it's a thankless task. Fasts make the game playable but certainly NOT easy on Xbox, as opposed to pretty much unplayable trying for perfects.
I suggest people who don't try to play the game on Xbox should give a bit more thought before they say fasts are an exploit which should be stopped. Perhaps on PlayStation, definitely not on Xbox.

This isn't feasible in reality of course, but it should be that XB can play for the fasts, PC get a handful of holes to use it per round, and PS play for perfects.

Yes, and even less feasible would be three tours, one for each console and one for PC, since there is disparity between them. But this doesn't include switch etc, so even then not totally fair. The only real answer is that HB had the know-how to make the game play the same on each system, but that seems the least feasible of all. It has appeared for quite a while they not only do not have the know-how they also lack the will to try. My biggest wish is that a good company decide to make a great golf game and HB go and make something else.

I thought the hope was the new version would result in lower scores, that while not likely to be realistic, you wouldn’t see -40 and better regularly. I just played in a society with a winning score of -62. I’m sorry, that is ridiculous. That’s basically placing the ball where you want on most every shot. Even the TGCTours flights are getting back to the old scoring that make the game unenjoyable. I figured this would happen, but hoped there would be strict enforcement against play that shows the consistent use of extreme swings to get low scores. I mean come on, who plays a duck hook most every shot in real golf to shoot a low score?

I can hit a fast if I want to, but usually I do it by mistake, same with the slows. Most of the time I can feel when I've missed the mark though, it's not very often I get a result that is way different to what I feel I'm doing with the stick. I played in the platinum event this week for some practice, there were a couple of holes there where playing a fast off the tee works due to the way the fairway goes. On a couple of other holes I'd play fast to counteract the wind. Otherwise though I aim for perfects or a smidge either side. I’m in the CC-L I read where you said you played in Platinum for practice. Can I play in their tournament for practice even though I’m in CC-L? I know I can go to local matches and just search for their Course of that particular week but can you go to their society and join for practice as well?

Yes, you can join any TGCT society and play it. Your scores will only count towards the tour you have a card in.

Yeah, as above. I joined all of them aside from the beer league, back before the season started the exhibition events were a good way to practice. I usually only play in these higher levels after I finish my CC-E rounds and have no other society events to play. Most times I don't even finish whichever one I start on, I just do it to practise tempo and putting. It must be doing something, I've finished in the top 5 the past two weeks in CC-E. Might be moving up a flight soon 👀
