To achieve the right "scorched earth" appearance on my current WIP, I've had to use Autumn as a theme which comes with a very hilly background.
I don't necessarily want that though....
I've gone round the perimeter of the plot and lower the very far edges of the plot down to the water table which has lowered it slightly, I've ramped up the haze and fog to dim it slightly as well but it's still a bit too prominent.
Just wanted to see if anyone has a hack for this?
Is it worth me landscape raising the course plot up 50ft or so? my only concern with this is that I'll change the slopes on the course slightly and the immediate background which I've already got how I want it.
Thanks in advance,

I jacked this plot up to the max (900') and then sunk down the middle by 50' and worked backwards in 5' increments across the course towards the edge. Once I reached the course boundaries, I went to 10' increments until I got back to 900'. My goal was to try and hide all of the background and give the appearance of a flat piece of land one might find in West Texas. The effect I wanted is one where I dug out the dirt and used that to build up certain areas of the course. It succeeded for the most part other than a few places where shots head towards the edge of the property and you can still see over the boundary. I ended up switching to Delta to allow autogen trees to fill in the boundaries because I lost the object meter while trying to make 3800yards of boundary look interesting. The last image is after I switched it to an island in Steppe Nice work, although it's too late for me to raise the plot as I've sunken more than 500 bushes on the plot and I'm not spending 30 hours on that again lol, the problem was I initially started in Countryside theme but then switched to Autumn to get a better effect with bare ground. The problem is the autumn theme has a wank background. The other option is use Borreal which I may still do if I can't find a hack, which I'm pretty sure I've tried everything. Thanks for your input though and from first glances at your new project, I'm looking forward to playing it!

If you raised the plot up, the sunken bushes would still be sunk, right? Or are you referring to bushes that are sunk in the ground but not buried under the ground? Yes if those were to move it would be a nightmare though maybe you could use area select to move/raise them up? It may be worth a few minutes of tinkering. I don't spend any time in autumn so I don't know if they have a background that is as flat as that one in steppe (which still has rolling hills). At the end of the day, a fairly level horizon of trees in delta turned out a lot better than trying to force something that the game wasn't really capable of doing with another theme.

Unfortunately I've sunken them painstakingly so the tips of a desert bush are just exposed so you can see fescue from the tee and I've used the scorched earth (delta wasn't right for this particular course) to give me a colour change. If I raised the plot then I would have to re-do 500+ bushes which I can't really see myself doing and unfortunately Autumn has big hills, bigger hills and even bigger hills as the only backgrounds lol, even Borreal has a more level background option which is my only gripe about the Autumn theme, love everything else, here's what I mean about the bushes;

You've got a good thing going there. I would just keep pressing on at this point.
