Rd 1: E Rd 2: -8 After last week's awesome course, this one is a total flop. Seems like course created tempo issues on holes such as 14 and 18 (those are the most recent ones I played so I can actually remember them). This picture shows the moment I lost respect for the course: That is a proper mess of OB and should not be allowed to be used in a competitive round, in my opinion. This also caused VF and Fast on swings on X1 (or what I call course created tempo issues). I'll call it what it is... It's a tricked up course. Beautiful, but tricked up. Happy navigating! Blue Hawiian Rd 1 Bradford vs Bruce This was a match between two long time rivals going back to tgc1 although Art knew nothing about this. We had played in the same societies and were of a similar skill level so it was going to be close and so it seemed it was going to be as both players pared the first hole. Just by paring the next three, Bradford took a three hole advantage as Bruce had bogies on the holes. Bruce hit back by taking the fifth hole. With Bradford wining three of the next four holes Bruce was floundering on the ropes at the halfway turn as Bradford led by five. On hole ten both players shared the hole and on holes eleven and twelve Bruce started to fight back by winning both holes. But to no avail as Bradford paring the thirteenth to take the hole, then on fourteenth Bradford landed the ko punch by birdieing the hole. The ref had no choice but end the match there and then as Bruce was in no fit state to continue and the win was awarded to Bradford. Unlucky Art, if it wasn't for the bogies in the first six holes, it probably would of gone down to the wire SkyBlueBen @bovakian

Somebody look up “closure” for me when we’re done. I have a feeling Paulie... er... Johnny’s going to be shooting more pillows after he falls again.

Walk of Shame rounds 3 and 4 - Blinded by the Light My suspicions were confirmed as power was restored to the course after Dave G paid his Bill (finally). Unfortunately, he also cranked up the wind machines. Pulled out the big boy clubs and hung tough with Andy for a minute. But in the end, too many bogeys and missed birds took their toll, and Mr. Backgammons kept my pips on the bar long enough to close me out. Fortunately, I managed to move a couple pips off before he sealed the deal, so it wasn’t a total disaster. Even better, after our match, he ran off to the bar, and another opponent came over to play me. It was Carol. She suggested we play the green tees (“Mike G said it was ok because I’m a girl, in case you haven’t noticed”). Then she undid the top two buttons of her two buttoned golf shirt to make sure I noticed. I noticed. She’s such as strumpet and I dig it. We did the dance of golfers, circling each other’s scores, Carol rushing out to a nice cushion as my swing was altered by maldistributed blood, and I found myself down by 4 strokes rather quickly. A chip in eagle on the par 4 #5 caught her by surprise, and the lead was suddenly halved. Didn’t last as my bogey on the next hole restored order in Carol’s scheming mind. Coming to my senses, I put on my special blinders sunglasses, and closed the front nine with back to back chirps to keep it close. I ignored her advances at the Hole 9 1/2 Pub, keeping it clean with seltzer water and a bag of ice, bringing the number of clubs in my possession back to regulation, if you catch my meaning. Over the next six holes, I managed three chirps to only one humph to bring me within one stroke with 3 to play. Carol’s 12 hour antiperspirant had reached its thirteenth hour, and she was regretting not having any more buttons to pop as a badly needed distraction. I’m not going to lie... the spreading pit stains on her golf top were a bit disturbing, and I could only manage pars on 16 and 17, while Carol held onto her slimmest of leads. I would need a bird on the finishing par 5 to forge a tie (Carol had long since gone into the prevent defense, settling for pars to finish out). Turns out, if one allows Carol to perspire long enough, her golf shirt will eventually become uniformly drenched, and the pit stains blend in to a darker version of the blue she was sporting. Distraction solved. A clean drive and 3H later, and I found myself lying 2, 18 feet from the pin, 10 inches up hill from the cup. A real knee knocker. Birdie didn’t even feel possible at this point. Sizing it up, I lined my toes up with the intended path, held my breath, and gave the ball a little tap. Let’s watch... Drained that putt like a bath tub with a freshly opened drain, fully free of hair, with no standing water at all. Claimed the eagle, and stole the win from our fair maiden Carol, who put her arm around me, gave me a sweaty peck on the cheek, and whispered, “I felt sorry for you, so I let you win.” Whatever. I winned. And I saw Carol’s boob, sort of but not really. That’s how you do it! SkyBlueBen, it was like taking empty candy wrappers from an empty pram. Round 3 v Andy: -2 Round 4 v Carol: -8 Good days lie ahead for the Men of Menace!

Fire horn Rd 3 SkyBlueBen +4 After recalibrating, tempo issues seemed to be fixed.....for now. All and all I played well, with the exception of two holes; both due to human error (especially the 3rd....I blame my spastic thumb) Beside that everything went smooth as silk, but for whatever reason putting seems even more touchy nowadays. It is incredibly hard to sink a medium range birdie. In the past, I didn't have as much trouble with that, as I do now....
