Forgot to mention that as part of our trip away, since I turned 60 last month, my wife has gifted me 18 holes at the Barnbougle Dunes golf course at the top of our little island. It's one of the best courses in Australia. Have attached this link so you can see why I'm getting very excited 😊 barnbougle.com.au/Will post some photos later in the week. Ross picked a diamond there a wife that gets her husband a round of golf how many of us can say that maybe only Charlie I’m thinking that’s the kind of thing Carol might do. 😉

Good morning / afternoon / evening peeps. Firstly, thank you to the admins for letting me do this, I hope it a nice little side game along with the usual TBC Season which will work well and just mean something different to play. Welcome to Season 1 of   Welcome TBC Speedway Golf …. Drive … then drink
Quick breakdown of what it actually means - All 32 regular season TBC pixel golfers have been split into 16 teams of 2 for a mini handicap side league
- People will be split into 2 groups, the lowest 16 averages from last season will be Group 1, the next 16 averages will be Group 2
- i.e. if you played all 28 rounds and shot -280 in total, your starting handicap will be -10 per round.
- No extra rounds will be required, as scores are taken from the usual TBC rounds
- Random team pairings will be drawn, 1 from Group 1 and 1 from Group 2
- Your combined HCP will be your pairs handicap for the week
- You will play against 3 other pairs each week for 5 weeks, so against all 15 after 5 weeks
- Handicaps will change weekly, it is worked out by
Total score from last season and this season   | Total number of rounds from last season and this season |
For each week’s race, your match HCP will be calculated by 75% of the difference between your Teams HCP and the best Team HCP in your race. Example
- Team 1 HCP -20 As they have the best HCP, start at E
- Team 2 HCP -16 Difference is -4, 4 rounds = -16, 75% of 16 = -12
- Team 3 HCP -12 Difference is -8, 4 rounds = -32, 75% of 16 = -24
- Team 4 HCP -10 Difference is -10, 4 rounds = -40, 75% of 16 = -30
Therefore the starting scores / advantage for that race - Team 1 → E
- Team 2 → -12
- Team 3 → -24
- Team 4 → -30
Each week the pairing with the lowest combined score plus their handicap will win. 1st place in each race gets 5 points, 2nd - 3pts, 3rd - 2pts, 4th - 1pt
After 5 weeks the top 8 go to the semi finals and bottom 8 go to the last chance saloon Best 2 from each semi-final and from the last chance saloon will make the final, the 2 pairs from the saloon have a 3 shot disadvantage in the final as well. Best score wins and becomes the TBC Ultimate Pair A bit more in depth about the rules can be found on the spreadsheet if you want some light reading before bedtime to put you all to sleep The 2 groups are as below Group 1 | Group 2 | Ross Nixon Sean Prowse Chris Grzesik Charles Lindbergh Jason Dowey Leon Anderson Ben Tough Tomi Pihlman Marc van Niekerk Paul Matchen Marcus Clowers CF Gibson David Stevenson Trevor Mendez Paul Davies Nigel Keatley | Thomas Seneclauze Art Vandelay Doe Coba Les Sangster Stevie Surgeon Randy Mears Mark Buenger Tim Brantford Carol Santapaula Daniel Oram Michael Bonocore Paraic Reddington Ken Lokosky Chuck Gunsaullus Randy Zubowicz Mark Lawrence |
Now the important stuff ... here are the teams being drawn at random in excel From this, here are the starting handicaps for each pairing So, without further a do .... Week 1 matchups Link to the spreadsheet showing all the information TBC Speedway Golf Season 1any questions, feel free to ask

As no more rounds need to be played, apart from your usual CC rounds you report to Art, I will take the scores from the TBC Season 7 spreadsheet myself, so no extra work for you guys or for Art

Art Vandelay #BeamMeUp - Week 1 Not the start I was hoping for in my return to the captaincy of the Bandits. They may sack me soon if this keeps up! Incredibly slow start to round 1 left me sitting at even par through 10 holes. Found a little spark to close though as I scorched the course with a -8 over the final 8. Sadly that was where the good times ended. Round 2 started off well enough but soon the frustrations with the putter set in once again. Could not buy a putt from outside 10ft and we left the course not on speaking terms. Round 3 was more of the same although a new frustration emerged to distract me. Hopefully properly coding ball flight in diagonal winds is near the top of the list for 2k25 and that’s all I’ll say about that. Round 4 the putting woes continued but I kept a clean card to put at least a little pressure on my match play opponent. Probably played better than the score showed but that’s how it goes. Wish the cups were a few pixels bigger though 😂 Having practicing this course, my conclusion is the greens can be tricky, depends on one's golf luck of the day

Art VandelayPub crawl 1 & 2 + OFTR Been under the weather today and it showed on the front 9. Made the turn at Ev with a double (4 putt from 12ft) and a treble (OB x2) a good back nine might salvage something -8 A bit steadier in 2 but threw away a couple of shots -11 OFTR

Pubs @ The gift that keeps on givingYa, i think most pixel golfers have only so many 3 putts inside 20 feet they can stomach. I kinda hit my limit about 6 months ago already. Today added 5 more to the tally. Gawd, it sucks to suck. Even if 2 of them were for a big bird initially. Set myself new targets. Or just a single target to be honest. Or else i will go nuts. I want to hit 100 career Kinetic tourneys played. Actually, I set that target for myself a while ago after missing 5 or 6 K-Klub tourneys on the trot and since then i missed about 6 out of 9 cuts. Sitting on 2 reddies currently. Not qualified enough to get rid if them. 10 or 11 tournaments short of the magic 100. The pressure, the pressure. Back to tbc stuff, my 1st week as a member of the Dickens Cider Casuals. Not really sure by what the name we refer to ourselves in short - i've heard 'casuals' mentioned, 'ciders' i'm sure have been dropped on the forum before... either way, i played like a dickens.
