Going away for the week on Tuesday. Wedding anniversary and Valentines Day all rolled into one. Yes I did get married on Valentines Day. Romantic you say, I say smart 😏. Never forget it and half the presents 🎁 😉. Anyway played my first game for the Royals. Could have been better, but for some lack lustre putting. Anyway here it is. Onwards Royals 🍻 Art Vandelay   |

Round 4 Results Old Sandwich
Gold - Ross Nixon (-21) Silver - Doe Coba / Bova (-20) Bronze - Trevor Mendez (-19) Round 5 Course (Open to play) Eaglesticks GC (OH) LiDAR
EagleSticks Golf Club tumbles across gently rolling farmland situated just outside of Zanesville. The constant up-and-down characterizes the course from the rolling fairways to the undulating greens. The total elevation changes amount to more than 100 feet. The hilly terrain is adorned with pristine forests of oak, maple, ash, oak, and walnut trees. Cascading waterfalls can be found throughout the golf course as well. There are scenic views everywhere but don't let that distract you, the challenging layout requires your full attention. There are 90 bunkers strategically situated along the fairways and greens. It's not particularly long at 6,500 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that instead favors accuracy over power. The par-5 11th is EagleSticks Golf Club's signature hole. Starting with a daunting downhill plunge, there is a creek that splits the fairway and a stream that runs alongside the left approaching the green.

THE LOT - WEEK 1Art VandelayLike Ross I also have romantic plans for Valentine's Day. I will be spending it with the love of my life. Coventry City FC Off down to Plymouth with my son to see the Super Sky Blues. The Mrs will be chuffed as she'll have the telly box all to herself.... Hoping to meet up with Sean prowse00 as we're playing his mob. Play Up Sky Blues.  Pub CrawlProper chuffed to being back with the Raiders. The Jolly Roger is flying again....  Snoozefest. Really nicely done course but, for me, boring. Think I dropped off in the 4th Round.   One For The Road
Far more enjoyable but made a proper mess of it!!

Released a Stripped down "Lidar"version into 2k23 from 2k21 Royal North Devon 1864,Sorry about the Delay.PS it's not the same course there is a new 8th hole there the very good hole along the coast close to being washed away the Oldest Course in England.

Art Vandelay #BeamMeUp - Week 1  Not the start I was hoping for in my return to the captaincy of the Bandits. They may sack me soon if this keeps up!  Incredibly slow start to round 1 left me sitting at even par through 10 holes. Found a little spark to close though as I scorched the course with a -8 over the final 8. Sadly that was where the good times ended.  Round 2 started off well enough but soon the frustrations with the putter set in once again. Could not buy a putt from outside 10ft  and we left the course not on speaking terms. Round 3 was more of the same although a new frustration emerged to distract me. Hopefully properly coding ball flight in diagonal winds is near the top of the list for 2k25 and that’s all I’ll say about that.  Round 4 the putting woes continued but I kept a clean card to put at least a little pressure on my match play opponent. Probably played better than the score showed but that’s how it goes. Wish the cups were a few pixels bigger though 😂

Art Vandelay #BlameRoss - Week 1  The putting woes continued into this one as some poor decisions and worse execution led to yet another slow start. Finally got my act together on the back to score some points but I did start to wonder,  why is there always a headwind on the par 5s? 😂

Forgot to mention that as part of our trip away, since I turned 60 last month, my wife has gifted me 18 holes at the Barnbougle Dunes golf course at the top of our little island. It's one of the best courses in Australia. Have attached this link so you can see why I'm getting very excited 😊 barnbougle.com.au/ Will post some photos later in the week. |
