My apologies [mention]arthurvandelay [/mention] I had these played last night but was exhausted and fell asleep before j posted here. Not playing well but at least I made the cut in CC-B and erased that pesky red arrow! Round 1 : -9 Round 2 : -6  |

Well played, Tombanator. You were far too good for me. Every time I thought I had a chance, you chipped one in. Your score for this course and conditions was formidable. I actually have no idea how you holed so many putts as well. I thought 186 was fiercesome enough, but your putts were running at 192, I suppose because of your putter fittings; but it was awesome to watch. Good luck for the rest of the tournament

Putts running quicker is all down to skills David portred had the same he had set one of them for more roll. |

Cheers for the match! One of those rounds where even my worst stuff (my chipping pretty much) wants to work, and was having a good day (next day I bombed all of my rounds). I'm not that much better, trust me!  As already explained, it's some skill based stuff as to why my green speed was 192 for this. Should have done something about it ages ago but got lazy and just been going with it from pretty much right away. Not a big deal though, I've gotten pretty used to it. I tend to be a pretty damn good putter on my good day and I just sort of have a really good feel for those and where to aim, some I know like the back of my hand right from the get go because I've seen a million of those (almost quite literally with how speedy my usual playing pace is). I appreciate the kind words good sir! Here's hoping to try and go all the way but some tough competition still out there. |

Pub Crawl, Rounds 3 & 4. I found myself in the exciting and extremely unusual position of being co-leader in CC-C at the cut, so with two more rounds to play I set about undermining that, lest I give myself unreasonable expectations of adequacy. R3 started brightly, -3 after 5 holes, but then the par train chugged into the station and I was still -3 after 10. I added another 4 birds on the home stretch but a -7 finish was quite a step down from the previous round. R4 felt like pulling teeth. I simply couldn't get anything going, missed every putt I had the opportunity to, watched my approaches slide away into the spacious areas of the green where the pin noticeably wasn't nearby, and so on. -6 to finish the round, -35 for the tournament. Despite the best of my worst intentions it currently looks as if I didn't do enough damage to drop myself out of the promo mark zone, so all being well I'll be teeing off in CC-B next week. Possibly. Maybe. Perhaps. However that turns out, I'm happy that I managed 72 holes without a bogey this week.   Art Vandelay |
