Art VandelayPub Rd 1 (-7) Had putting issues as left too many on the greens. Rd 2 (-7) Started out with an early eagle and a birdie after 3 holes then couldn’t find my putter as it was a mess and gave it all back with 3 bogeys on the front 9. At the start of hole 10 I was in danger of missing the cut again and I needed (-7) on the back 9 alone to get me a full shot above the cut line which is currently sitting at (-13). I picked up 5 birdies and an eagle on 18 to get the (-7) on the back 9 that I needed… I still have to sweat it out but just happy I had a strong back 9 after a crummy front 9. x.com/rrzubnyy/status/1714339634933608675?s=46&t=Nll30I9CruESmivt8BBGhw

Weird week so far. Feel like I'm huffing and puffing and not quite there but I'm scoring decent.

Art Vandelay The game comes and goes, but I think I'm almost there. The first round was just a ton of missed putts. I hit it great. These greens are like my favorite website - barely legal. j/k I love this course. It's a beauty! I got it going a bit in the 2nd round. I made a few more putts. I have to think it's only a matter of a week or two before the -12s start showing up. I'm also thinking of starting a new course project after a 2-month break from designing (curse you, Starfield!). That'll help get everything back to form. Unfortunately, my schedule gets super crazy over the next six weeks, and then on to the holiday season, Gigmas as we call it. I'm not joking about this course. It's really good. Very Shinnecock Hills IMO

Pub Crawl, Round 3. I'm still kind of holding it together. A couple of weeks ago I would have bitten your hand off and come back for the elbow if you'd offered me -11 in any round, on any course. But I feel stupidly niggled by a daft and needless bogey on the 17th, and that was the feeling I was left with at the end of the round. I mean really, I am my own tough crowd, right.  Overall though, I'm quite delighted to be at -33 after 3 rounds! I'm trying to be a Menace here, because Sobriety isn't going to work out.  Art Vandelay |
