Art Vandelay Well, that was a tough go this week. I just couldn't really get anything going. I'd birdie a few in a row and then hit a bad shot and make a sloppy bogey. The par train was chugging along for most of the week also. I'm glad you all liked the course. I did build it to be a little tougher and it looks like I mostly succeeded. For me anyways...

LATex Cup.      I've been going through a bit of a crisis with the game this week. For reasons I can't explain my playing just dropped out of sight without warning, and suddenly I was shooting 10-15 strokes per round worse than I had been immediately before. And it went on for days, massive fasts, dismal slows, shots that weren't even fasts or slows but just went off in a madly inaccurate direction straight from the club, and putting that had the aroma of last month's haddock. Utterly dismal and dispiriting. I've blasted away at the driving range, recalibrated, even started my career mode again so I could experiment on some courses. Slowly it came back, at least partially, to the point that yesterday morning I cautiously played R1-3, and it was pretty mediocre, but not the outright stinkfest that it had been all week. I ran out of time to pay R4 so I played that just now and....backwards again. It was nearly a birdie-free round, but I managed four bogies, unaccountably cancelled out by two eagles. But man, my shots were wild, and my putting was bad enough that Stevie Wonder phoned me up to give me tips. I have got to get this sorted out before the season starts or I'll get tarred and feathered by my fellow Hobgoblins. Art Vandelay |

Played my first two rounds this afternoon.
Think I've learned how to manage my stuttering, but it's still very much a work in progress. Thank you so much, up mup kupen nup, for giving me something to work on. My stuttering is very much better than before, as reflected by how many times I hit it inside 6 feet.
Sorting out my putting is also still a WIP. Hit it close on one hole in round 2 and then putted it clean off the green and made bogey. I've changed the speed I take my mouse back so it doesn't keep making me retake the putt, so I'm still very much getting used to it.
I'll play my last two rounds tomorrow.

Playtex Cup Round Four  For sixteen holes, all the bogeys of the week almost magically vanished.  Then on the last two…  Interestingly enough, Art Vandelay, I finished the event in first place for both water hazards and cart paths hit in under regulation.  Rd 4: -3  Bring on the Rumble!  |

I had some time to try on the latex. Probably shouldn't have bothered. I'm not a fan of narrow courses that go straight into heavy rough. They just get frustrating.  |
