Something that is confusing me, is it only the consumable balls that change the green speed, none of the putting perks have the same effect do they? As far as I know it's only the consumables that do change the speed. I haven't actually used one since the official TGCT and Brew Crew events started. Been on default since Sunday. The putting perks I don't quite understand a lot of them or why I would want them but have seemed to put a lot of my points in that area. I don't understand roll for example. Why would I want more roll when the ball won't stop in the 1'st place. Put weight, same thing, don't quite understand it. Putt path, no brainer and since my blue line is never in the center I figured I best put points in there. I've digressed. So, roll for example, would that slow the ball down? I don't know. We need someone to do a deep dive into the putting. The thread "short game tips" someone put a video of a guy explaining splash shots. I just got back from watching a few of his videos. He seems to know his stuff. Some of it doesn't apply to me. Like looking at your avatar. I don't look at him, ever. It's all feel for me with me kind of looking down the center of the screen. Same with putting. I look at the cup and ignore my dude on screen. That just messes with my head Digression number 2. lol I'd like this guy to do a deep dive on putting though, explain what all the terms do, what the perks do etc.
I think we are safe with the putting fittings as they enhance putt weight (ability to hit the correct power i.e the putting version of transition) and putt path which are always going to be helpful.
However one skill which I will be staying away from is the Greenskeeper - column 5 putting which gives you a 'roll boost' on the green. I don't want a roll boost especially when I don't know what it means - will it change green speed or go further off the putter than usual?
If the column 7 passives do indeed stack then that means that in 'For dough' in order to get putt weight (2 points) and putt path (3 points) I also have to have a roll boost (1 point) which I don't want!

Mmmmm ….. audio on PGA 23 has left the building again this morning on my Xbox series x
All other games fine.
Reinstalling to see if that helps. Any other Xbox users seeing this at all

That's the same concern that made me concerned...anything saying roll boost has started to get me paranoid that it would act the same as a consumable, therefore amending green speed. I have no intention in using consumable balls but in the same time don't want to inadvertently use a skill that does the same if that makes sense. |

Reinstall and no difference. Could be refund time I am edited post as I thought you had no sound, are you saying the game will not start for you ? Is there any way to verify files? So many issues with xbox I am happy to have a pc.. If sound did you mute something on your tv or game ? Most likely a temp glitch. Returning is option but I would wait and see if gets better. |

Have a wee question - what is difference between Transition and Timing? Or what does it actually do ingame? Transition is the time between the top of your backswing and starting down, it’s the white area on the swing meter. Timing is as it says the timing of your swing represented by the narrow white spot at the top of your feedback meter. That’s how I understand it And tempo has nothing to do with your backswing. It is just measured on your downswing. transition, tempo. Too much to think about. |

Won my second tournament of the season the Zurich Classic with an improved score of -3 beating Mr Woods again.  I was playing Tiger as my rival and was getting killed as I had some tough rounds. I then looked at the difficulty and had masters set for career mode. In career I play at pro. I can’t just go to anything less so I can just win to get fittings, ect. Pro is easy enough….. ur the career mode isn’t too bad in this game compared to the last as you have more things to do with regards to fittings, skill points, ect. Can you get fittings in a society? |

Just what I need Kie! A legendary shaft!  Trouble is I'm 73 so probably wasted on me  Had a day off today so been grinding Career all day and finally spent my 50th point! Just need to find/earn/trade 3 more legendary fittings and I'm DONE with career mode for good. Ain't never going back! I know what you mean Pete, I'm now level 39 and have done two seasons / two rounds of beating the rivals. Looking forward to getting to Level 50 and then taking a break from the grind! Looking forward to TGCT and TBC getting underway. I’m just approaching Level 30, ugh. Work and the wife get in the way. My kid just grinds on his stupid games so he doesn’t bother me, lol |

Just shot my first under par round on master difficulty in the career mode -2 birdied the last to beat a certain Mr Woods. Wooo go me 🤣 Once I find my archetype then I’ll just keep it at masters all of the time. I’m still testing a lot. |

Just in case anyone was wondering, a GTX 650 cannot play this game, even at lowest settings and screen resolution turned way down, without turning the game into what looks like a Sega Megadrive slideshow. I gave up after around 30 minutes of tweaking with in-game settings and even playing a round with tempo off; never had tempo off, going all the way back to TGC 2019! Needless to say, my career rival Rickie Fowler was less than impressed with the sheer cheek of it.
After that little experiment, I'm rather looking forward to what tomorrow and the new rig brings. |
