There's been quite a bit of negativity from what I can see on different posts outside of the TBC, but I am just going to come out and say it, I had so much fun last night trying to chase par. Think the best round I got was a -6. Room for little improvements for sure and yes the balls do worry me but if I am honest I still haven't looked or stumbled across the different 'sleeves'yet. I ran out of time last night, had to work today but itching to get back onto the courses tonight. I am enjoying it also, so far.. ask me again when the real competition gets started! |

this is torture lol ive still got 36hrs before i can play it due to chores early friday morning on a plus note i finally said goodbye to 2k21 today was well worth the money & fun times i had in it over 2200hrs for 40-60quid i think i paid although i did get pre-order last time
also on new game looks like you gotta watch that VC as once max lvl 50 youll need 3150 xp each time to get 250vc so not sure what xp you average per round
i suppose way round that would be playing rivals over & over

I came across this on another thread and this guy nailed it perfectly.

6 games in and gameplay is far superior than 21. You get out what you put in. Alot more skill involved across the board atm. Chipping putting everything.
What i have noticed tho is everybody is going to be different and have a different gameplay style and setup. You can fit clubs and archetype to help with how you play and i cant see one setup being more advantageous to another due to the pros and cons for each.
Perfect swing tempo is going to be alot less regular than any previous versions due to the size of the mishit window.
Because of this you really have to think outside the box. Keeping you swing even close to the line is going to be impossible and its going to be all about swinging your way. Playing your game and working with what you get. No one will be the same.
The fittings of clubs will be personal to each player and club sets will vary but not massively. Powerhouse is beast mode but you sacrifice in alot of other areas. You may be able to bomb it 350 all the time but its keeping it on the planet.
Its all about what suits your style and swing. Short game is all feel so no more missing greens for an easier birdie. Bunkers are penal and the heavy rough is heavy rough and spin isnt predictable as per 21 was. The putting is amazing and the ball physics are a massive improvement across the board.
Im in the masters camp as i think this is the mode the majority will get behind.
Hope youve got enough room for all the golfers doyley as there are record numbers of people watching yt vids and streams pre release and how this plays so far i personally think it can finally push the e sport door open with force.
I just hope those at tgct dont miss the boat by limiting the market by trying to push the boundary too far.
Positive positive positive moves by hb as they seem to have listened for once and gave us a really playable game.

I'm looking forward to starting my 2K23 journey tomorrow. However I find the whole ball roll changing green speeds and firmness a farce for societies.
I'm not sure if HB & 2K are stupid or shrewd.
Maybe stupid because someone has thought it is balanced because the sum of the adds equals the sum of the minuses without realising they don't all work in the same direction (i.e. high does not equal better for each attribute).
Or maybe shrewd because they do know the impact and it forces everyone to get the Legend balls of the appropriate type to be on the best level to win. Not so much pay to win but more pay to not be at a disadvantage (which I already do being on XBox! 😁)
With HB & 2K it could be either one!

I sent a message a couple of days a go but doubt I will get a reply, starting with "what the actual f*ck" probably wasn't my brightest moment... I wish I had started mine that way tbh - over 20h and counting now. Did you receive a reply? I got one last night. Comical response...was almost like they were replying to a different email. Anyway was provided with a discord where apparently we can have meaningful conversations and provide feedback to developers. Well I posted in there before bed (nice enough message), woke up this morning to find I had been removed from said discord group. |

3 days in and finally started to shoot some under par scores. I'm playing with Pro settings at the moment because I tried Masters and it was a disaster. Hopefully haven't got the same issues with Xbox as we had for most of the time on 2K21. Not saying it is a problem just yet will change back to Masters again tomorrow and give it another try 🤞.
One suggestion I can give everyone is after playing for a while, go and calibrate. It certainly helped my driving. Interestingly a 3 wood is used for calibration in this game 🤔.
Another suggestion, if greenside bunker shots are driving you crazy with the much harder splash shots, try chipping. Anything under 20 yards works well.
One issue has come up today for me and I would be interested to know if anyone else has had the same issue.
I'm having an occasional issue which I will call the yips. After playing for a while, all of a sudden the take away on all shots including putts, starts playing up. By playing up I mean, sometimes you won't get a backswing at all and then you get a backswing, but then no forward swing. Really frustrating, especially when trying to putt.
I tried what I used to do when the fast reds started on 2K21 and quit the game and relaunched it. This worked every time so far. As soon as you started playing again it was fine, but 2 hours later I had the same issue. Hopefully it will be fixed asap as I don't want to have to be rebooting the game every couple of hours 😫.
Would appreciate anyone else having the same issue letting me know.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this new addition. Definitely more realistic and challenging, but so far it's a breath of fresh air. As far as the balls go. I won't be using any consumables. Plenty of other things to concentrate on.

Plenty of other things to concentrate on. Agree, I'm fiddling with different setups but sticking with the default ball. Have seen Insanerick mention vc is going to be harder to accumulate as you progress so might be have to think wisely about what we spend on. |

Just checking in at the halfway point. 25 skill points spent - 25 to go. 64 fittings earned - 36 to go. Been enjoying the gameplay so far - Doing ok with Pro. Gonna move up to Master when all my attributes are in place. Splash shot is dead R.I.P. Gradually getting a feel for the full and partial chip. My one question is - What is the point of replays in career mode when you don't see a replay of the actual shot? All you see is your Golfer hitting the shot - Pointless! Not sure how TGCT will deal with the 'ball' issue. Nightmare for them trying to ensure as much of a level playing field as they can. Wouldn't wanna be Doyley for quids! |

I still have no clue on what and how those skill points work. I have 14 points remaining but I do not know what that means. My first column seems activated but how do you get to column 2? Do the 14 points get me over there? No clue, lol…..I’ve been focusing on the fittings and my woodsman(155 green speed)archetype which I originally started on as GDog recommended it on his stream. Overall I love the game. I don’t care about golf balls right now, default works. |
