Quick question, if you don't complete a tournament in a CC division one week are you automatically kicked out of it and back to Q School? Just asking because I noticed that is (from what I understand) what determined how many people get a card. I thought I had no shot sitting at +10 in Q School and all of a sudden I got an email welcoming me to CC-L. Couldn't be happier to get a card my first try after a few weeks of Beer League. Thanks
If you start an event, and don't finish, you get two (red) demotion marks. If you accrue five demotion marks, then you drop down one level (eg CC-G to CC-H) If you are in the lowest CC tour (L?) and get 5 demo marks - then you would be demoted back into the qualifying pool

I checked the qualifying schedule and couldn’t see my name on the ‘players still to tee off’ list. I checked the registration and it’s saying already registered for qualifying so I didn’t want to start playing Acadia in case scores not pulled across, any ideas to resolve this issue? Also, I saw a note on main site saying promotion / demotion issues are delaying start of this week - do we need to wait on this being finalised before starting the rounds on Acadia?

It looks like the main site is starting to pull in this weeks scores. Starts at PGA and works it way down.
I'd say it's safe to play. Hope so lol, already played mine yesterday.
Good luck out there

I'm just wondering how so many spots open week to week. There is no way that many people get demoted from the lowest CC back to Q School.

Spots available are based on how many people play the events versus the 155 'ideal' number for each CC-tour. So if 20 people in each tour don't play - then there are 20 spots per tour for those in Q-school (plus any spots for CC-L players relegating into Q-school)
Not playing at all doesn't cost you any demotion marks.
So if you checked the number of players in each tour, it will be higher than 155 (probably already near 200) - but maybe only 135 play each week.

Thanks Once you get your tour card the only way you can lose it and get demoted back to Beer League is to be in the bottom tour and accumulate 5 demotion marks. You're not obligated to compete every week

You're not obligated to compete every week One small correction to this is that you would get demoted to the Qualifying Pool with 5 demotion marks in CC-L where one can then retry (as many times as one wishes) to earn a card. Beer League is a standalone separate tour that one has to elect into and out of at the expense of the main tours (Pro Tours and Challenge Circuit).

Hi zooby, If you miss the cut, the bottom 7.5% of the number of players who entered are given a double demotion mark. The next 7.5% worse are given a single demotion mark. If you miss a cut and have promotion marks already you get one demotion mark for missing the cut. Anyone else would not. For more detail see this page - www.tgctours.com/Home/RulesPoliciesThis is the relevant section. Demotions & Promotions +3 Movement Marks (green arrow icon) will automatically promote you one level. -5 Movement Marks (red arrow icon) will automatically demote you one level. Platinum Tour: Can't accrue positive movement marks (promotion marks) All Main Tours (Platinum, Elite, Kinetic, Challenge Circuit) Processed First Make cut = clear 1 demotion mark (if you have any) Miss cut = clear 1 promotion mark (if you have any) Processed Second Above double promotion line = +2 movement marks Above single promotion line = +1 movement mark Below single demotion line = -1 movement mark Below double demotion line = -2 movement marks Tournament Winners on the Challenge Circuit (CC-A through CC-L) are auto-promoted to the next tour. A withdraw (not completing an event) is -2 movement marks at all levels

I understood that you got a demotion mark with missing a cut just didn't know where that extra demotion mark starts at. But 7.5% is it. Thanks again.

I've participated in the Qualifying for the first time this week. When do we know if we make it to the Challenge Tour?

Hi folks, I have been playing on the beer league and I was wondering if I can just stop playing there and try and play the qualifying events or how exactly does it work when someone wants to move from playing on the beer league to the CC tours. Also how often are qualifying events played? Thanks a lot .

Also how often are qualifying events played? Thanks a lot . Qualifying events are weekly (play the CC course - all four rounds by the end of the week). I believe you have to uncheck "beer league" on your profile (on the tgctours.com site, not this forum site) and then I think you have to go to this site Qualifying School
You can track your progress here: www.tgctours.com/Tournament/Leaderboard/5801Good luck!
