Welcome to week 4!
This week will put an emphasis on your irons. You'll quickly find that if you're too aggressive and miss, you'll end up visiting some sand.
I eased back on the conditions a touch to hopefully give you some fun and exciting rounds... remember, the line at the pin may not always be your most prudent shot.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info! Played a couple of practice rounds and discovered the hard way about being aggressive on the greens=bunker! Should be a fun and challenging event.

Really liked this course. Like that this one puts a premium on the second shots and having a sharp short game! We need more courses like this rather than the 7,500 bombers courses.

I like the course a lot and I am glad there is some room for mistakes off the tee on big fairways especially for the "fast swingers" of the group. With that being said I see some extremely low scores of -15 under or better for the first round granted that can change but is there a way of having some people promoted to other leagues on TGC? If its the same 3-5 people every tourney in the top 5. I feel they should get a shot at a more difficult league as the Beer League should have a more broad winners circle lol. It gets frustrating to hit more realistic scores just to see someone birdie/eagle every single hole. Just a question or statement I don't really understand how the rules work for the Beer League on that part. I just feel the skill level for a small handful of guys in here is way too much for a "Beer League."

I just feel the skill level for a small handful of guys in here is way too much for a "Beer League." I understand your frustration, but this league was solely set up for those who prefer the Pro-level difficulty. It really has no determination of individual skill level. I do agree that probably 10-15 individuals at the top could easily compete on the upper tour levels...their scores indicate that, but each has their own reason for participating in this league. Me? Started on Master difficulty since day one and I do prefer Master level, but the initial qualify rounds showed that I had a fundamental lack of awareness as to what the total game mechanics are about. So, went into one weeks self-imposed "isolation" working on my game which showed me that I could averate +2 to +5 per round on the most difficult courses at Master difficulty. So, I merely working on my game here to continue working on my swing and course management. Probably in a couple of weeks I'll leave and enter the regular qualification event and let the chips fall where the may. Good luck in your virtual golf endeavors and enjoy. BTW, it's only a game! PS: Apologies for being somewhat long winded!

Haven't touched the game for 3 days due to work schedule. Dusted of the controller and played final practice round at Victoria and shot -2. Eagle on the front nine negated two bogeys and had two birdies on the back for the final -2. Satisfying and comfortable with this practice round. Hopefully later this evening Rd 1 will be roughly the same...there is always a potential for a pile up! Good luck everyone!!!

Geez, this is one empty club house. I had to snack on vending machine ware...stale offerings!! Anyways, finished Rd 1 with a bizarre -3 (69). I started leaking oil pretty much after the 1st hole. Suffered a triple on the third hole, classic rolling crap show where birdie attempt rolled and rolled to oblivion. Bogeyed the 5th...not leaking oil, but soon to blow a gasket. I was finding the greens but couldn't hold them as I would slowly trickle down into the bunkers. My sand play saved my bacon. Was at +4 going into the 8th were somehow I pulled off an eagle, then birdied the 9th. Back nine started with a bogy on the 10th, but was able to settle down with pars until birdie on the 13th. Holed out an ace on the par 3 14th...nice easy 7 iron (96% power swing) that landed 15 feet in front of the hole and kept on rolling into the cup...the Holy Roller! Started playing defensive strategy since my tempo was all over the place. I'll quit tonight and take gratefully my 69. Currently tied for 109th for now.

A weird couple of rounds for me. Finished the first round at +5, after hole 1 was my only birdie on the round. Somehow ended up with +4 for the second round, with almost no par holes but a fair number of bogeys and birdies.
I know it's the course more than my play, but glad to be under +10 before missing the cut… My previous bests were +19 during the weeks which ran concurrent to the big Q-School. Not sure whether my +9 will get my any higher than my best placing of T206, but it feels like a good week for me, no matter what happens. (Looks like I'm currently alone in 195th place.)
Also weird, my first round included 4 bogeys and a double bogey. On those 5 holes, I scored -3 (four birdies and a bogey) in the second round. But on the 11 holes I parred in the first round, I scored +8 in the second round (1 birdie, 3 pars, 7 bogeys, and a double bogey).

Dragging myself into the clubhouse...+7 for Rd 2 with a +4 overall. Just could not get anything going in my favor. Unable to establish any satisfying tempo. Lucky that I shot +7...no magic Like yesterday...no mana from HB. So I limp in setting well below the current cut line, but based on last week, the cut line tends to be fluid so I'll have to wait and see.

seems like the lower scores might be a reflection of that "update" from last week that had everyone re-adjusting to the putting-which seemed a lot slower than we were all accustomed to? seems like the swing for drives/approach shots is a bit more forgiving...no complaints here!
