Anyone played Nonotempo? Experienced a lot of stutter on this course whilst panning with camera and post shot in ball flight. Haven’t experienced this since playing Lost Preserve at 30fps. Keen to hear if others have observed the same. No real issues with any other courses since switching to 60fps. Tempo wasn’t great and I believe linked to the stuttering. Just fired it up to play a few holes on my Series X this afternoon. It had a lot of shimmering without when I'd pan the camera, especially without any AA. I also noticed the stuttering when the ball was in flight and rolling. It never seemed to have any effect on the swing animation. I think it's something about the planting technique used here. There's not a lot in the way of course objects, but there are plenty of small patches of brush, mixed with various types of flowers and weeds. The course didn't take long to load at all, so I don't think there's an issue with the topography that's behind the problems I saw here. It's not that the course is unplayable, because the swing animation is unaffected from what I saw in three holes, but it sullies the course enough to where I probably wouldn't want to go back to play again.

Anyone willing to provide help with my swing? I'm at a loss on how to keep a straight swing plane and it's absolutely killing me. I shot E for the Promo Event - 66, 75, 66, 73 and then turn around with an opening +14 after shooting -1 in my practice round at Roaring Hippo.
I can hit balls on the range all day long and can see a ton more perfects than I do on an actual round. I really enjoy playing this game and want to move up in the CC ranks. Anyone want to play a round or two with me and help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Glad to hear you also observed the same. Agree the swing animation was not affected but I think my tempo was off a a result of the course related shimmering. I played a round at another course straight after and tempo was very different way for good reasons.

Alright so my PS5 game in. Still waiting on the series X. Tempo wise I do find it a bit easier than OG xbox but definitely not easy. I think that is due to more polling points on the new controller and how well the game runs. Iam struggling mightly to keep my swing line straight especially on putts. I can hit dead straight on xbox. I think with the next gens the console gap has definitely evened up but I'll report back once I give it a go on the Series X. Stoked to hear what you find out. The way the Series X feels for me I can't imagine it being any different on PS5. Pure as. Miles ahead of the XB1. I remember hearing a few PS guys who upgraded to next gen saying the PS5 was tougher but felt more clean and pure. I think the PS4 Pro really struggles with framerates on some courses and as someone that plays on PC on 70 to 100 fps it is really noticeable when I play this game on the Pro at 60 hz, I would assume that the PS5 can hold a steady 60 fps which will give a much better playing experience.

I really hope we get very similar performance and graphics across PC and next gen consoles for the next version of this game. I think my biggest wish would be societies with multi platform leaderboards and equal difficulty across all platforms.

How many Series X owners have had an inexplicable "Red Very Fast" tempo since the server side "Red Fast" nerfing patch? I didn't get one until yesterday. I was playing round 4 of a Society round at TPC Louisiana and was 4 under par through 5 holes. I had hit every fairway and had not even strayed outside of the "Perfect" band. All of the sudden I produced a "Red Very Fast" tempo on the tee shot at 6, and went 230 yards way off to the left and into the water. This was on a swing where I was trying to be relaxed to produce a fade, if anything. The water was so far off to the left that it didn't even register as a threat. I wound up hooking my next shot into the water in front of the green with a "one tick into the Red Fast" zone tempo. I could feel the second one and owned it, but that "Red Very Fast" tempo just seemed to come out of the twilight zone Anyone else have an experience like this post red fast nerf patch?

Lol I have PLENTY of random "Red Very Fasts". Happened pre-patch too though. I feel like the red very fast is a catch all for whenever the tempo doesn't register or glitches for some reason during the swing.

Not me... yet... but does the red fast nerfing patch result in a much shorter distance now, i.e. instead of a 280m drive it might be say 250m if hitting a red fast. have just noticed this tonight after playing 3 rounds. I don't deliberately play red fasts but just an observation after hitting about 4 or 5 red fasts over 3 rounds. If this is the case then this is fantastic news for those who play the game as it should! EDIT: just noticed post by Doyley at top of page. This is good news indeed!

Just add it to all the other tempo issues us xboxer’s have had to deal with since the games release I’ve just had three red fasts in a row on one hole something I’ve not done for ages and none of the swings felt that bad.

Happens all to often now JC even when you could swear your tempo was at least decent & same thing you mentioned Les, I'll get a few in a row when I feel my tempo has been decent.
One thing I forget to ask in my thread on the HB board JC when you'd mentioned you weren't seeing much of it was are you still using Pro? Then my next question would be to HB or anyone that has tested this, does the Red Fast occurrence happen less on lower difficulty settings then it does on the harder difficulty setting? Stands to reason.
I guess it really doesn't matter at this point. It is what we're dealt with going forward. I just think it's been a over done particularly throughout the bag & down to the short game. Not thought out by the Dev's & certainly not tested!

I play mostly on Pro swing setting. I did try it on Master and was getting more Red Fasts there in a casual round, but that's always been the case. One thing I did do today was recalibrate my swing, intentionally using a faster tempo during the calibration than I use in my normal swing. I had 9 of 10 calibration swings in which a medium draw was produced, what usually results from a "Gray Fast" I then played 36 holes and during those two rounds I had only once swing result in even a Red Fast, and it was just one tick beyond the gray fast line. Most of my swing tempos were just right of 12 o-clock "Perfects"... maybe three of them were "Gray Slows". I like the way my swing feels under this new calibration, which hedges me toward a slow tempo. I think I'll learn to play this way after a few more rounds. I've also taken a new step this morning in which I'm going to start playing pitch shots where they should be played, even in the 14 to 28 yard range. I faired better with that than I thought I would. I had conceded to splash shots in such situations shortly after the game was released; I wish I hadn't now. The pitch shots look and seem more natural, even though there's a non-proportional feel to the pitch swing. Hopefully I'll adapt to that feel eventually.

I still can't get over how widely our play experiences vary with this game. Your theory about the tempo not registering during the swing, for whatever reasons, sounds plausible however.

As I posted to LastChanceHombre, I've recalibrated my swing to skew me away from fast tempos so now most of my misses will be hedged toward slow. I've only had one red fast since doing so and that came on a 3 wood approach where I was trying to play a draw. It was only a "one tick" red fast and I couldn't detect much in the way of a carry loss. What did Doyley post relating to this? I can't find anything...

Yeah, I can't say that the incidence of Red Fasts, or Red Very Fasts have changed since the server side patch, but definitely the effect of them on carry has definitely increased.

I have not yet recalibrated which I'm going to do, I'm sure it's a must with this server side patch especially playing on Master difficulty. Personally my swing tempo is trashed atm, lol so that's where I'm headed next time I'm on.
I'd had the pitch down pretty good even partials prior to the update & now it takes a different touch for sure. I'd noticed right off that what seemed like almost a bit of a lighter touch & I was getting more perfects with pitch shots whereas before it was almost like ramming the downswing up on the stick in order to produce a straight shot slightly in the gray & always worked pretty good as far as outcome.
Man, I feel like I felt when we all 1st got our hands on the game & I started out on Legend difficulty! After a day or 2 went, nope! Gotta' go learn this another way, lol! Heh, guess I'm back to that! New ball game!
