For what it's worth, 2K support gave me this response just now:
"I really appreciate you sending over the video we require to escalate your bug report.
Thanks to players like yourself, we've been able to collect enough info about this issue to notify the development team, and they're currently looking into it.
We don't have visibility on their progress here in customer support, and won't have a timeline for a fix if it's to be implemented. As always you can follow us on Twitter @pga TOUR 2K, as this is where the latest information on upcoming updates and fixes will be announced..."
Not sure if this is just the stock answer to any bug report, but hopefully the bold is another encouraging sign?

While you guys are at it, can you tell them the putting has suddenly gone weird on the regular old XB again! 😆
...at least for me...
The isnt the first time either, not by a long shot.
This game really is a head wreck at times on XB and is becoming increasingly difficult to remain patient with.

Did you send them the YouTube video from this thread? I'll create another case and send that if not. Otherwise, I'm sure I'll have plenty to choose from tonight when I play a few rounds.

Fwiw, I guess the best way to describe the issue is, your golfer doesnt transition from the backswing to the forward stroke quick enough or properly. It's like the putter slides back an extra couple of percent/inches before the forward stroke registers, thus ruining feel/timing and resulting in a lot of overhit putts. Hell knows I've played this game enough to know when an element of it (in this case putting) is not working right. As I say, not the first time this putting issue has cropped up for me. Why does it happen? Who the hell knows, and that is the frustrating part mainly.

You've done something no other mortal has managed to do as of yet... elicit a partially uncanned response! They've finally been able to collect enough data to look into it. On the surface, it sounds like they're unable to reproduce the behavior in their in-house network environment, making this appear to be more of a network related issue. Why it only affects the Series X and S and not the One X and S is beyond me. What I didn't find very reassuring about their response was where they responded: "and won't have a timeline for a fix if it's to be implemented." IF IT'S TO BE IMPLEMENTED!? This is what many of us consider to be a show stopping issue with the game, not implementing a fix is NOT an option Thanks for sharing this, we now know a heap more about it than we did before!

I will regain it, I love the game and these tours too much not to, but right now if I continue to play tour rounds I'm going to damage something! I've got a POS course I want to finish anyway, so will probably immerse myself in that for a little bit. Probably play something else while I'm at it as well. Apparently they've made other games for the Xbox, who knew?
Quite telling, last week the PGA Platinum Tour leaderboard featured the grand total of ZERO Xbox players. Even on the Euro Elite Tour there were only 6, and 4 of them missed the cut. I will be getting the Series X at some point in the near future. I'm sure they will sort this putting glitch out sooner rather than later, and then we've just got to hope it redresses the imbalance at least a little bit. Because right now I've got to say, I'm pretty demoralised.

As are we all pretty demoralised, I haven’t got my series x yet and now reading some of these posts about glitches I’m pretty pleased I haven’t managed one. As you say the Xbox has other games on it that I haven’t finished or even started. Maybe I will get back into those and dump the tours altogether although I have gotten more into the designer on Xbox lately so I could continue with that.

Please add your videos to this as well. Thanks for doing that! Good work. Let's keep pressing our issues home. I don't play many games at all and tend to leave that to the kids but does anyone know of another game with this many bugs/glitches/issues? I use to play a lot when I was younger and have never experienced a game with so many gameplay issues. I'm assuming with games released across multiple platforms this is a major cause yes?
