I have one pre ordered but again unless they unlock the 30 fps it will play no different. Those that have never had the X on a 4K tv and are going from a stock Xbox 1 to a SX with a 4K 6Ohz/120hz tv and set it up correctly will certainly see a big difference though. That's me and I can't wait! Next Tuesday 10/11 is launch day in Australia so hoping to pick mine up shortly after. When you say "set it up correctly" what do you mean. Won't there be a setting in the Series X to select 4K for graphics and then the TV will natively run at 4K? Or do you mean I will need to configure the TV also? Thanks If it's like the way PGA TOUR 2K21 works on the XBox One X, you won't have an option to set anything with regard to resolution; it's just going to automatically run natively in 4K. As a side note, not only is the resolution automatically set to 4K, it features considerably higher course object detail than the the OG XBox One and S version. You shouldn't have to touch your 4K display for resolution. It will recognize the native 4K input coming from the Series X and display it. What we've got to hope for is that HB Studios has gone into the game code in Unity and either unlocked vsync, allowed an option to set vsync to 60 Hz, and/or enabled Variable Refresh Rate. They've said nothing to indicate that they're willing to do this, let alone planning to do it, but since July of 2018, HB Studios has not been very forthcoming concerning resolutions, graphics options, and frame rates concerning this series. I'm hoping they'll surprise us here... this game simply must be played at 60 FPS to live up to its design basis with regard to tempo, and be fully appreciated!

Awesome, that's my situation. I have the original XB1 and just bought a 4K TV. Do you happen to have a link to set up the TV correctly in order to get max performance? I've tried looking but there's a lot out there and I'm not knowledgeable in this area at all. I have an LG OLED if it matters. I'm not familiar with the LG OLED's, but here's a link to a forum where I got tons of solid setup help for my TCL Series 6 displays. AVS Forum I'd imagine if the LG OLED is anything like my 4K display, the first thing you want to do when using it for a gaming display, you'll want to make sure you have the TV's input mode set to "Game". On my TCL it takes the input lag from 60ms down to 17.5ms. It makes a HUGE difference in the feel of the game!

I’ve managed to pre order and have the series x delivered on the morning of the 10th in Moscow, Russia and currently on the Xbox one on a 4k UHD tv and not holding my breath for any better performance in the game but hoping the graphics will be better.

I'm still trying to get my hands on a pre-order (or more likely just any sort of order haha), but what I'm most interested in is if certain courses with heavy planting will still be glitchy. I'm on the OG Xbox One so it sounds like I should see some improvement no matter what.

I was finally able to lock down a Series X pre-order. I'm so pumped and really hoping that the Tours ends up supporting the new systems. Here's to hoping that this game runs at least a little better on it. Congratulations! Where did you manage to score one? I'm still desperately searching! The Microsoft store released a few batches of them two nights ago. It was a struggle but I stayed persistent and was able to score one after a few hours of trying. My advice is to find the Series X/S discord on reddit and keep an eye on it. Those guys are on top of everything and was how I was able to get one.

After that the TV settings are on you. Then if you have a 4K receiver it changes things. It's fun. I love audio video. It's close to sex if you get it right 😄

I think this has been touched on briefly but any guesses on how big the performance bump will be on the next gen Xbox. I’m still using the original Xbox one & the game is so choppy for me on Lidar courses it’s unplayable. Elite is @ Austin country club this week & it’s a Fantastic course but it’s so choppy I’m almost tempted to take a week off... is this being caused by my outdated hardware? Or do others have a similar issue on lidar courses w the newer versions of Xbox one? TIA

I've read in other parts of this forum and HB Studios that the new Series X will provide a significant improvement in graphics and hoping for some performance improvements but unless HB unlock the 30fps cap then it will not benefit completely. jcauthen04 will likely comment here. I find his feedback is very good on this matter.

Or do others have a similar issue on lidar courses w the newer versions of Xbox one? TIA Based on what HB Studios has said concerning backward compatibility so far for 2K21, a conservative guess would be "none" outside of faster game and course load times and auto HDR, both of which happen with no effort on their part. All they've said on the record about it is this: "There will not be a bespoke version of the game for the new platforms but PGA TOUR 2K21 will support backward compatibility."HB Studios may be underselling what they have planned, or just hedging their bets so no one will be disappointed if they don't deliver on a more ambitious claims. I'm starting to lose any hope of HB Studios making the necessary updates to 2K21's game code to provide an option to turn vsync OFF, so the Series X could run the game at 60 FPS+. If a development team like Avanlanche Studios won't put an option to disable vsync for Just Cause 3, which like 2K21 is relegated to 30 FPS on XBox One X, I don't think HB Studios would feel pressured to do so for 2K21. I have read that Microsoft's backward compatibility team has means available to them to supersede the lock in the emulator, and provide a means to run at 60 FPS, but this doesn't seem like the level of game for which they'd be willing to devote the resources to do something that radical. Then again, how much effort does it take to go into Unity code and insert the following to make it happen?: Application.targetFrameRate = 5000;
QualitySettings.vSyncCount = 0;

Thanks for all the info, very informative. I didn't even realize how close to release day we are for the new consoles. I'm sure somebody on the forum has a pre-order & will let us know how it plays! Sounds like while it may not be maximizing the power of the series X it will still be a noticeable upgrade from the OG xbox one. Cheers

My Series X is coming Tuesday thankfully, but it's definitely an issue, not just you. My game also freezes constantly on LIDAR courses. I would probably play anyway because I look forward to the rounds each week, but don't blame you one bit if you skip. Basically unplayable.

I am supposed to get my Series X tomorrow. I have yet to receive a shipping notification from Microsoft, so not sure that will happen. I am currently on Launch Day Xbox One, so looking forward to the upgrade in performance.
I also upgraded my TV to take advantage of 4K and 120 FPS, even though very few games will support 120.

Looks like everything is being shipped overnight if pre ordered through Microsoft. I think we'll have it by tomorrow night. I'm giving my XB1 away tomorrow and taking the chance that the tours supports the new systems. I'll figure something out if that doesn't end up being the case. Maybe I'll buy a PS4 for cheap so I can keep up out there 😆
