Absolutely gutted guys and after all that talk about if I’ll make it or not I just shot a +14 in my second round on Evangelist 😬 Really thought after my +2 I had turned a corner to see it all go horribly wrong jeez! 8 bogies, two double bogies and an awful triple on the 16th and started to lose my rag a bit and then birdied the par 3 17th )) Oh man so wounded and need to play this more relaxed with less expectation. Sorry for rant and breath breath as too early in the week for a G&T 😄 Big fan of ur’s! You have great passion and seem like a good dude! I’m Xbox as well and I’m rooting for you to show great gains this season. Lots of great people in CUCC and Swing and Miss if ur looking to join some competitive societies. They’re balanced with divisions for all levels of play. Good luck this season!!

Two rounds in with back to back 69s. Nice. Avoided OB and water with the only exception being an awful very fast that was completely my fault while trying to lay up on 16. Missed a few gimmies, but sank a 43 footer to close out round one as well. Very up and down, but I've avoided the blow up hole so far and sit at +1 for Q school with 2 rounds to go. I'll take it.

We (i say we meaning the design community, even though i haven't put anything out in over a year) need a tutorial from Arctic Fury on how to "convince" the game to give good drop zones. He does it all the time, by putting fairways in strategic spots, and the game just automagically knows to drop you there. It's something designers should start playing with. Maybe Victor and Canuck can talk to Fury and get the inside info. I really loved the look of the boardwalk around the edge. Aesthetically it looked awesome. Just sucked when you got caught in there. Also have had spots where the ball gets caught on the edge of the water and keeps dropping in the exact same spot when you declare an unplayable. Would be cool though if all designers were on the same page as to how to properly put drop zones in their courses It isn't on the designers to put hours into strategically figuring out where the hell the game is going to make you drop, it's on the developers of the game. Saying it's a poor design from the course designer because HB hasn't figured out how to make drops work is ridiculous, especially from someone who has 4,500 posts and has been around this game for a while.

Seen a lot of posts about OB/drop issues but haven't seen any specifically for the 18th yet. This was in a practice round but I hit my second shot in the water to the right of the green about 6 feet away from the retaining wall and the game either didn't recognize it as OB or it did and just took the drop for me. Next shot was hitting out of the water, which went as poorly as you'd expect in that the ball didn't even move. This time it was counted as OB only the game wouldn't let me take the drop. It essentially froze and I had to quit and resume the round. Same thing happened a second time. It looks like this round will actually end up being unfinishable. Didn't know that could even happen and really hope it doesn't happen to someone in a qualifying round. Doyley Theoretically, if this had been a qualifying round, how would something like that be handled/resolved?

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WELCOME TO MELTDOWN CENTRAL , WE HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY !! This game has the ability to make you feel like you can play golf like your heroes , Tiger , Rory whoever you follow....then it has the ability to make you feel like you can play golf like , well , YOU. Came off Whiskey (as a Scotsman it still hurts me to spell that with an ‘e’) with a -10 feeling great and that I was starting to get to grips with the Master settings... “Hello Evangelist”. Through 12 holes of my 1st round and sitting at -2 thinking it was going well then , stupidly, accepted an invite into a chat as I played.... bogey on 13 but that’s ok , onto 14 , Careful of the OB , managed a perfect but coupled with a 7to 1 swing landed on the right side of the green & rolled OB leading to a nice double. Par 15 onto 16 been fast all day but of course I get my first slow = water followed by a fast = water = double. Follow that up with a bogey on 18 for +4 2nd round I’m now p****d off & the heads gone , I’ve realised the green is now just a suggestion & the hole is something you take a wee look in as you pass it regularly = +12 Rounds 3 & 4 have a similar but slightly improved feel about them to finish me up at +22 for week 2 & +12 for Q-School = CC Anybody’s guess. The drawing board is where you’ll find me going forward , probably trying to learn how to spell ‘Concentration’ To be honest I’m probably down where my current abilities should be but look forward to the challenge of actually being competitive. The journey may be fun 😁

If you don't finish all 8 rounds, you end up in the qualifying pool during week 3 (next week)

If you don't finish all 8 rounds, you end up in the qualifying pool during week 3 (next week) Really hope that doesn't happen to anyone, or me for that matter. I was -5 in that practice round and the idea of that being an actual qualifying round and having the game do that is brutal.

End the misery.
-16 @ whiskey
+25 @ Evangelist
I think I had maybe four perfect shots in all four rounds combined.
Only place to go is up now I suppose.
Worked my way up from cc z all the way to Euro in 2019 on xbox.
I've got some work to do, clearly.

C'mon people play better. I shouldn't be in 288th and I don't want to be. I would have zero chance on Elite(just like last season). Knock me down to Kinetic or even CC-A please.

I won't even on my "projected" 101st to 150th place finish after these 8 rounds...
Eidt: Without knowing your last two rounds and only projecting through 6 rounds of scores you will get knocked down to Kinetic.

Sitting at 1031st after 6 rounds now, +2 overall. I'll play the next round either tonight or tomorrow. I played today in a different society and couldn't get any consistency with tempo, which happens occasionally. Hopefully when I play this one next that doesn't happen again.

I’m in a bit of a strange place with the game at present... much like AFCTUJacko and GW_Hope More like GW_Hope in the fact that, for now at least, I’m just gonna crack open the beers blast on. TST will be my main focus this year. The putting... Jesus Christ, the putting is driving me insane, and the tactic I’ve had to employ (with reasonable success) is just alien to me. I decided to move to this technique after last weeks Q, where I didn’t score too badly, but left SO many there after being tee to green in great shape generally. So now I just take a look and bang it. My round times have come down since last year due to this. Even with some practice swipes on my full shots (which I now take less of purely because I can’t be arsed). Anyhow: Week 1 -36, week 2 -19 (a lot of water and 4 shots in the bin on the back 9 of R4 alone) for -55 total and Platinum mediocrity for sure. If anyone wants to see how a Plat journeyman with limited commitment, practice and sobriety puts a half decent round together, voila!

+3, +29, +5 for my first three rounds. Should I play the 4th...
With my PC mouse, master level is just tumbling the dice between very fast and extremely slow. I managed to be most of the time extremely slow in the third round so the improvement.

As much as I like Evangelist (yes, I said like), I'm not sure it is a good Q-school course. It is so prone to blow out rounds that many players will be out of their natural position based on their usual performance. For example, 5 bad holes resulted in an awful R2 that dropped me 3-4 divisions.
I'm looking forward to all the Q-school sandbagging allegations once the season proper starts!
