Well that was both disgusting and disappointing! Round one @ Evang and my golfing comet has dropped to earth. Two bogies, two doubles and only four birdies make for an ugly +2 - my first over par round for the Qualifier. I played the course reasonably well in practice but we all know that is not a predictor when the sphincter tightens. Got Vfasts just when they were killers so three in the water. I was "lucky" I did not have that "boardwalk" shot that others discussed above, my ball rolled fast enough to make it into the water lol. Oh well I was playing above my normal ability anyway.
I really have to practice my pitch shots, I just cannot seem to get a handle on the Tempo vs. carry distance on them, they seem to vary more than normal shot type.

Regarding Evangelist...I was thinking about something yesterday when reading through some of the comments in here - remember St. Bedes (sp?) in TGC19 Q-School? lol This is all I remember about St. Bedes
Larry is actually back playing again - although he has clearly taken himself fully off this site, as he has played all the exhibitions, and also played both weeks of this Q-school - but hasn't appeared on any TGCT keaderboards. Although he probably should have done - as he'd be borderline Platimum / Elite from his scores......

Finished up, pleased with my performance, despite lipping out soooo many times and hitting a few errant shots on easy holes. Had my own experience on the drive-able 4, hit a big'ol rope hook onto the very top of the upmost red slope, which then proceeded to barely roll off the green, then into the water (as I shed a tear or two). I ended up taking a drop somewhere waaaaaay across the water/swamp area on what seemed to be another tee box, some 245yds away, but had a nice angle into the slopes. Missed green, up and down, bogey 5 on what should have been an easy bird. Other than that instance, no real shenanigans, played mostly "safe" ish shots to avoid disaster, think I only had that one bogey (or maybe 2/3 at most), which was the goal.
GL to all left to finish.

Any reason why my Week 2 scores are not coming through. I just noticed my Week 2 round 1 score isn't posted either... I've played the first 3 rounds

Evangelist all done. -9 -7 -9 -5 Finished last round with two bogies which was annoying. Played okay. Definitely a lot of room for improvement. So -60 overall for me. Will wait and see where that leaves me. Great shooting my friend!! I think we all know where -60 will get you.

I wouldn't make the assumption that your Q position doesn't make a difference as long as you shoot better than +100 across all 8 rounds. All they've officially said is that a further 5 flights, and so 750 tour cards, have been added. Taking the original 1,450 tour cards available, that means 2,200 tour cards are now available. Now, drop-outs and bad scores from others may mean that +100 will be enough to make it into that top 2,200 - but no-one can say for certain at this stage (I'd expect far less drop outs - at least from anyone in contention for a tour card - this week compared to last week) Ok thanks and understood. So I'm currently just hanging in on the bottom of L so still all to play for!

Well thank god that is over and I will never have to set foot on the course ever again. I played terribly and take responsibility for that but that is got to be the least enjoyable course I have ever played 4 rounds at. Water in play on what feels like every shot and any red fast or slow will pretty much put you out of the hole. Play conservatively to avoid the drink and end up short sided. Regardless of how pissy I am about all of that I know I could have done better and am ultimately to blame.
-24 at Whiskey pissed away with a +5 (76 70 69 70) at Evangelist. -19 for Q-School total. What a shame. Totally gutted.
Hoping its good enough to get me CC-A but will take whatever I'm given at this point.
Good luck to all with the rest of the event and new season.

I really loved the look of the boardwalk around the edge. Aesthetically it looked awesome. Just sucked when you got caught in there. Also have had spots where the ball gets caught on the edge of the water and keeps dropping in the exact same spot when you declare an unplayable. Would be cool though if all designers were on the same page as to how to properly put drop zones in their courses It's a bit of a dark art, currently. The only person I've seen do it reliably is Arctic Fury. It's got to be something he could share. No doubt about it he's a genius when it comes to plotting a course

Honestly don't feel as though I deserve to make a Pro Tour after that Evangelist showing. I don't like to wish negative things upon the rest of the field, but a part of me is hoping I'm not the only one to struggle that much. Pretty wide array of scores so far on Xbox but will just have to wait and see come the weekend.

We (i say we meaning the design community, even though i haven't put anything out in over a year) need a tutorial from Arctic Fury on how to "convince" the game to give good drop zones. He does it all the time, by putting fairways in strategic spots, and the game just automagically knows to drop you there. It's something designers should start playing with. Maybe Victor and Canuck can talk to Fury and get the inside info. I really loved the look of the boardwalk around the edge. Aesthetically it looked awesome. Just sucked when you got caught in there. Would be cool though if all designers were on the same page as to how to properly put drop zones in their courses Maybe I'm just stupid, but if there's an in game brush for OB then why can't HB create one for drop zones similar to what you'd see in real life if you'd end up in a grandstand?

LOL I'm saying...it ain't that bad! (bad used in the sarcastic tone, not in a way that says Bedes is a "bad" design/course).
There are more eyes are seeing QSchool this time around than ever, and my thought was "I wonder how crazy people would be if we were playing that again..."
P.s. No offense intended to mr Hoot, it's a classic course with a looong backstory, just not one I'd call my "favorite" to play, personal preference...and also IMO significantly more difficult, plus a higher "wacky" factor, than what we have this time around.

Would be cool though if all designers were on the same page as to how to properly put drop zones in their courses You have no idea what you are talking about if you don't design. Kevin's point about drop zones is valid, and we could all do that if we wanted to (I know exactly how he does it), but you also have to mold those in aesthetically. The game doesn't HAVE drop zones, and the way that this game is allowing a drop right on the edge of the water is NOT a course designer issue of fault, that's THE GAME. I've read several of your comments at this point ABU_Bear and reserved response, but at some point your opinions just become too much to leave in the universe because you don't actually know what you're talking about.

I've played the first 3 rounds The Evangelist scores aren't showing for anyone in the My Scores row above the actual leaderboard. Scroll down (or use Ctrl-F to search) to find your name. Is it there?
