That was tense.
First round has the moderate greens so it's the one to go low on for sure. Did around nine practice rounds and never made it to Even, but posted -2 here. Should have been delighted but was worried that my conservative putting would leave me behind the field, with some good scores on the leaderboard already.
Second round the wind speed and fast greens were back but I was still playing fairly well. Holed out from 154 yards on the 7th for Eagle but I utterly choked the putts from there. Just pars and bogies from there for a +2, level thru 36.
I'd have killed for that prior so all-in-all pretty happy. For anyone who didn't practice Evangelist and goes well on their first round expecting more of the same from the course, be very wary.

Was on vacation this week, just got home an hour ago. If I missed the first 4 rounds of Qualifying Event #1, is there any reason to play Qualifying Event #2?
Or should I just wait until the next qualifier?
Kind of disappointed of the hard gate at 8PM on a Saturday night - wish the gate/deadline was at 00z Monday vs Sunday.

No reason to play as you won't show on the 2 week event leaderboard without a first week score.
If you registered for the event, you will be put in the Qualifying Pool for Week 3.

Not sure if we are getting a new thread for week 2 or not.
Played my first two @ Evangelist earlier.
Went around R1 to a solid bogey free -6. Played smart and took what the course gave me. Without even finishing the event I know that this is the best round setup for scoring of the four. In round two conditions got a little bit tougher. Had a good front 9 going -5 for the front nine. Then the back nine happened. Had a near aceatross on the 12th hole. Made the eagle putt to keep the momentum going. Later had an ace on the par 3 17th hole... it is setup for it if you can get your shot. Three other birdies along the way including the last hole, a 500 yard par 4. -12 for the round. Had to shut it down for the day as anything else is just pushing my luck.

Had a few sharp lipouts too but no disaster OB/hazards. I sort of felt like a senior in college in his last semester with a job offer already in hand...

Was going to wait until Friday, but figured I may as well just get it over with. Went in blind and just played for fairways and the middle of greens after reading peoples comments that trouble lurks if you’re off target:
R1 -4, only missed 3 greens but had a couple of 3 putts R2 -3, bogey free. Did putt off the green twice but holed the par chip both times R3 -5, couple of bogeys and made some long putts R4 -2, got Kyned on the 18th hole with a very slow tee shot into the water, just teed up again incase I got screwed with the drop. That was my only double of the event. Total -14 for a -20 Q school.
Probably only used driver on 50% of the par 4 and 5s, went with either 3W or 3H to be in the fairway or not take on bunkers, might have even gone 5 or 7 iron on the driveable par 4 in one round just to leave a full approach.
Not sure where -20 will get me, maybe kinetic or CC-A?
Good luck everyone and have fun.

Here are my updated stats after R4. This includes all those that have finished 4 rounds; revises the positions to remove for those that have not completed their rounds; and properly allocates duplicate names. Even after removing the Top 150 (that are mostly freakishly good PS4 players), the XB1 scores are quite a bit lower than the other averages. Note: There is quite a bit of upward shuffling to occur at the bottom. By my reckoning, I moved from T1284 to T1212.

I had preliminary data before the event ended that showed even Platinum was semi-normal if you took out the top 50 players. Yes, once again, XB1 is at a definite handicap, unfortunately.
The % spreads by console start to look even versus the total amount played once you get out of the Pro tours (1 to 450).
It's still skewed and needs addressed by HB if they would ever acknowledge it, but I think it isn't as bad as TGC2019, for whatever that's worth to those struggling.

I wonder whether the XB1 scores would have improved if we had played without crowds. In my experience, they completely screw my tempo on an original XB1.

-3 E E +3. I should have stopped after the second round. I could feel my swing screwing up with lots of bad fasts but I kept going. Oh well. Hopefully even is a decent enough score.

-7 -5 so far. Two trips into the water in the first round spoiled things. Quite happy though, there's always something that could have gone better.
