After -14 for my Whiskey rounds I was feeling quite confident as a new player. But Evangelist is completely kicking my butt in practice. When it goes wrong, it goes badly wrong there, the greens are horrid and as a short straight hitter it plays long. I've just adjusted to hitting the big stick with an intentional fast which has gained me some yards on approach, but I am still all over the place - I shot a +9 followed by a -2 (with a double bogey at the last). Anyone else having issues? It is a course you have to play smartly. If you aren't driving well, then you don't want to be trying drives that, if you miss, you end up in water. You want to play with a lesser club from the tee. They key is to avoid the hazards and the big numbers, so you have to play smart and recognize when to take a longer or shorter club out. I intentionally to long towards sand because sand is easier to get out of than heavy rough, and I can make it to the green at 150 yards in the sand. 150 in heavy rough becomes much tougher.
The greens are more sloped but there are definite holes you can be aggressive.

Close second to Herman Beeftank for me. It would make my day to find out they're both real! "Where are you going honey?" "Just meeting Herman down the pub." "Oh ok. Tell him to say hi to Gemima for me. No Eggbert today?"... I've enjoyed scrolling down the leaderboard, quite a few have made nice moves or the opposite. Every shot really does count! jakierobo85 ruined it with a birdie at 18! 62, 82, 71! Sorry to keep tagging you Jacob, your scores just stood out for me. Way to steady the ship after that second round 👍 Hank McShank snorts at all of this petty banter. Nedward Buttercup...sure he was in Lord of the Rings.

Well ladies and gents, sitting at a paltry ranked T2556 after 3 rounds showing. It will get worse once round 4 is posted. Been practicing on the Evangelist and honestly there is no way in hell that I can shoot the targeted goal of +10 per round and that would not help in the long run anyways. So a reassessment dictates that I leave the qualifier and go down to the Beer League to work on my skills or lone wolf it and set up targeted courses. Yes, my game has improved since the launch of 2K21, but not at the rate that I had hoped for. Not discouraged, but being pragmatic. I'll be cheering everyone on the rest of the way. I'm not put off by the great scores being shot, but inspired.

Are people not seeing the circled in pic above? Or just not reading it - don't know if it needs to be fixed or not.
Oh now we have to READ too?!?!? LOL//JK. It's good to know. Certainly adds spice to the tourneys. Love it.

You may be right, but you may regret not finishing up and then finding out the score to get a tour card wasn't that far out of reach after all. And if not, so be it, not the end of the world. If you keep improving as you have been you'll get there through one of the weekly qualifiers sooner or later. Good luck!

Round 3 hurt. Putter issues all over the place. I thought I had conquered those demons but a double, 2 bogeys and a triple led me to barely scraping by with an EVEN par round. 7 birdies wasted with 5 shots gone in two holes. Both times just blasted it by the hole on a 10 foot putt. Good news is I'm only two shots down on the Platinum tour so I can come back with a good 4th round. Still with the way the rest of the round went, I should be safely inside the top 150. I always knew I could play good golf, it is all about the putter and keeping those big numbers off the board. A bogey is fine but a double and triple when it is all putting is unforgivable.
Gotta work now.
