I am planning for a Tropical feel, but using Delta theme. My first two published courses included water features (one was approved) and I was told by a few people that I am good at water. So, I will be using a lot of water features on this course, some of which are laid out, in the images below. The ultimate goal is for the course to be carved out of a thick tropical setting with a few holes along the beach, some back nine along cliffs, and a couple of major water features that most holes interact with. I am hoping for some feedback specifically on hole #8, as the tee shot will be blind, but I think look really cool. Front Nine routing Hole #8 for input Other Screen shots of #2 and #3 Notice the bunkers in front of and behind the pin from the layup position on #8, but a better view from the driver. Other pin positions have better views from the layup position. Still a lot of work to do, but feel like I have a good start. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'm too scared to attempt any kind of large water features and those looks really solid in pictures. Well done!
One small thought would be to carry an 285-295yd driver for testing tee shots. That length is what the heavy majority of players will be using to play your course so you'll want to see how balls react in that landing zone.

I love courses with waterfalls like this! And I'm really excited to play that island par 3 you have for the 2nd! I never really think of designing for tropical cause it scares me off to but when it's done nicely these a really great courses.

Those water falls will look better when I am done, but the images do make them look pretty nice... How do I get a driver that carries 285-295 yards in the new game?

You have the option to use coins to buy new clubs under MyGolfer. Before you start a round, there's also an option that says "edit golf bag" where you can do it there too.

I guess I have to play a bit first to get some coin? They don't list yardage though when buying them. Is there a thread about how far each driver carries?

@mctrees02 Thanks for mentioning the driver length. I spent quite a bit of time setting up hole 1 as a drivable par 4 and the 287 yard driver changes things quite a bit!

Course "Lua Wai - Beta" is ready for some feedback on playability, although I have not done much landscaping yet. b101 Ben, hopefully you will have some time in the next few days to give it a go, but feedback is welcome from anyone that wants to play it. This par 72 is a delta theme and will be landscaped as a tropical island setting as you can see from some of the preview images below. The main tees, which will be blue, have been laid out based on my 287 yard driver. I have started including blacks for 295, whites for 277, and reds for 267, but are not yet set on most holes. I intend to make some of the front tees with a slightly better angle as well, but am hoping to get some general feedback on the blue tee distances, variation in shots, variation in difficulty, etc. before I proceed. It is a good idea to pay attention to pin placement before teeing off on this course. Several holes will have a better approach from a 3 wood off the tee rather than driver, or from one side of the fairway or other, depending on the pin placement. My intent was to have each set of pins have some easier placements and some harder placements instead of making 1 all easy and 4 all hard. Hole #1 is driveable, but most attempts will end up in the collection area behind the green if they avoid the bunkers. A layup with a 3 wood may be the better option to offer a good view and angle into the green for most pins. Enjoy!!! Looking down to the 1st green with the 2nd island green in the background. Looking up the 3rd fairway toward the central set of falls Looking up 8 fairway with the 4th adjacent on the left Looking toward the 14th green with the 10th, 11th, and 16th greens in the background and #12 and #14 tees on the left.

Sure. Hopefully tomorrow night - think I might have two nine holers and this so would work well ๐ I have not been able to find that you have reviewed my beta course yet. Am I missing it somewhere, was it so bad you don't want to hurt my feelings, or have you just not been able to get to it? I am making some tweaks on my own, but would love some input from others. Thanks,

@ b101 Thanks for the feedback, very helpful. Gave me some great things to work on and a few holes to rethink. I wish I could have found it live to comment and ask questions. I do have one if you don't mind. On 9 the option to hit to the adjacent fwy for a better approach angle for pin 2 was intentional. Should I flat out avoid that? Thanks again!
