I was just notified that I’m officially in the contest field!!!! Now for a few more screenshots of my progress: Here is the first look at the green on the longish par 3 11th. I’m mostly done with this hole except for planting and finishing touches to pins/green. Next is a view just in front of 10 green. Still some sculpting work here but I love the look and I’m not sure I could concentrate to putt on this green. Last is one of my favorite views I’ve seen yet. You won’t see this from the course but I love the overview here. This shot shows 10 green, 7 green in the distant right hand of the frame, 11 tees and green, 12 fairway and green, 13 green, 14 tees and 16 green on the lower left hand of frame. These areas are not done but it does show the progress. They are mostly sculpted how they will be with the exception being 16 green and the dunes in front of 13 green needing a lot of detail work.

You have some nice bold contouring that catches the eye. Looking forward to playing this one. Good luck

Thanks!
On a different not I tore up my entire front 9 (except hole 7) and re started. I did not like the routing and it just did not seem to fit in with the style of work i am doing on the back. I had too much water on the front and it felt way to “forced”. I’m much happier with what I’ve got going so far now.

The idea to redo my front 9 was a time consuming one. Plus the previous time I had in on the old holes wasted. However I believe it was a good decision. Here is the revamped driveable from 2 tees par 4 4th and the new par 3 5th. I think so far these holes will fit in and blend with the style of bunkering, sculpting and planting as the holes on the back. Tons of details left to work on here but I feel I’m on the right track. I do have plans for the land on the other side of the river with riverfront on one side and beachfront on the other. It will not have any golf holes just details for the look of the course.

Looking great. May I ask what time of day the shots are taken?

Thanks! As for the lighting, I’m not sure. It’s definitely in the evening but will have to look when I get back home tomorrow.

The par 4 6th runs along the banks of the inlet. This stretch 4-7 all have views or play along the inlet and are the only holes on the front (aside from the ocean front 8th) with water close. It’s really only in play on 5-7 however unless you REALLY mess up. Not finished but I’ve made a lot of progress on this one and started some of the atmosphere across the inlet as well! Including my attempt to start a draw bridge.

Looks cool. Are there going to be holes on the other side of the bridge?

I’m not sure I know what you mean by holes on the other side of the bridge, but each side is exactly the same and will be exactly the same other than trying to figure out how to get a power house or something of that sort there to control it like you would see for a real bridge like this.
Also, I forgot to look at what time it was for the lighting but I will check next time I’m on the designer.

Haha, should have been pretty obvious huh? To my defense it was about 3am when I read that....working graveyards and no sleep will do that to a guy.
To answer the question, no, there will not be any holes across the inlet. That bridge is for car/pedestrian use to get to their homes that are on the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th holes.
I will be putting some stuff over on the other side of the inlet though as it will be in immediate view on 4 of my holes on the front and some from the back will be able to see over there too.
Sorry for being a dumb-A when responding earlier to your question!

More work is completed. I have all 18 laid out and all the surfaces completed. I’m working on sculpting now and some of the major “environmental elements”. Here is a look at the landing area and then the green complex of hole number 1. I need to work on some sculpting for the first part of the fairway and the bunkers at the beginning of the landing area but I’m happy with my results so far. You also can see #10’s fairway running alongside to the left. That’s 8 green directly behind and no sculpting has been done back there yet.

It’s been a while since I’ve had an update. I haven’t had much time lately to work on this working a lot of OT at my job. anyways, here is a look at the long par 3 2nd hole. It’s mostly done with the exception of the details from planting. I may end up changing the time of day a little earlier. The more trees I have added the darker it’s getting in some places.

Lowcountry Dunes now published.
I went with no planting other than trees. I just couldn’t come up with something that I liked the look of with the other elements on the course.
I hope you enjoy!
