Here are some thoughts I had as I played. Check out some of the surfacing tutorials. My biggest critiques are that you need to work on green sculpting, you seem to have 1 or 2 really big slopes with a tier and not much else to it. Also, check on the blindness of shots throughout. There was 1 i liked (the short par 5 on the back) but the rest just felt awkward and I was just staring at a mountain of fairway sometimes.
#1 – like the visual of the opening tee shot. Bunker could be sculpted better especially the close left finger. Second shot is pretty blind to a very flat/boring green
#2- liking the planting a lot. Bunkers could use a little love, and once again the green is very flat. Green also seems small for the length of shot. Surfacing issues where fairway meets the green. Need to make it less abrupt to flow better
#3 – same surfacing issues as #2. Like the design of the hole with the chute to get at the green. Pretty severe slope on the fairway. Green again feels on the small side
#4 – very blind for the second, and again with some large slopes in the fairway. Green complex is very nice. I’m really liking the environment you are creating for the course. Last time I’m going to mention it, but the surfacing between green and fairway is bad again
#5 – again, good visuals off the tee. The green is nice, might be slightly too big of a slope, but It can work for a short par 5.
#6 – I think the hill on the right could be pulled back, or reduce the planting to give a little bit more of a look at the fairway. Would love to see that fairway bunker at the corner. Your best green yet. Pretty interesting slopes on it. Theres a bunker long of the green with some planting in it. Not sure if intentional or stray.
#7- very interesting hole, needs some polish but the idea is great.
#8 – a long par 3, good green, visuals have dropped a little bit on this hole.
#9 – three shot par 5. Needs something to spice up the drive, was no thought there, just grab driver and whack it. Second shot was much better.
#10 – interesting tee shot, like the diagonal bunkers on a diagonal fairway. Would prefer being able to see the close bunker from the tee
#11 – Very blind off the tee. Which is a shame, since the lake would be a great view. Fairway bunkers could use some sculpting attention
#12 – cool hole. Good visual and strategy here
#13 – another good visual. Back tier is 3’ higher than front tier. That seems a bit extreme
#14 – I like the idea of the hole. Might move the bunker from the right to the left of the fairway. The left side is the preferred side for the angle into the green, give me something to steer away from it. Another blind second shot in. I would use the hill short right of the green to be the visual impedence and if you’re on the correct side of the green reward it with the view of the hole
#15 – good hole! Make the green interesting and this could be your best hole.
#16 – another fine hole. Give a little trouble out right or everyone is going to just hit driver no matter what
#17 – back to back driveable par 4’s. Might think abou changing this up a little bit.
#18 – good looking finishing hole. Might want to give a chance at holding the left edge if you dare to take on the bunker off the tee. Biig slope on the green
