As far is the difficulty is concerned. Doyley did mention a Lower league (comparable to beginner Tour in 2019) for anyone who finds Master swing too challenging or doesn't want to bother with using it. That is a great option for the newer players who might not get a card for the first month or so when this thing kicks off in a few months or whenever.

OK, I hope this post can help some who have had difficulty with MASTER like I did at first. For some context, this is my first golf game since Tiger Woods way back, so am VERY new to the swing plane, tempo mechanic. My first round with Master swing + no meters was a disaster. I had several holes hitting stroke limit, dont even remember the score. The next round I took serious and finished +30 with ez course conditions. I quickly fell to around +10-15 after some practice and after a total of about 15 hours of playing I just had my best round, +4 with hard course conditions. My best round also included 8! missed birdie putts (that i considered makable), so could have easily been better. Here are some things I discovered during my practice that really helped. 1) DO NOT OVERSWING! As many probably have noticed, when you overswing the tempo range and the swing plane get smaller/harder, this makes the chance of a good shot obviously harder to accomplish, but the other hidden thing I have noticed is that if you overswing, the effects of a missed swing plane or missed tempo seem to be exponentially more punishing. What this means is that if you get a grey (fast) tempo with an overswing, its more like a black (very fast) tempo in its result. So if you overswing, you better get it in the white or your screwed from my observation. So what I have been doing is instead, trying to get between 90-100 as much as possible, a straight but 5% shorter shot has completely changed how many fairways I have hit. 2) EVERY CLUB HAS DIFFERENT PERFECT TEMPO. This was something that was not obvious to me at first and really caused issues. Essentially, the longer the club, the faster your tempo need to be. I was swinging everything like driver (what I calibrated with) and was all over the place, generally slow-very slow with driver, but then always fast with wedges, it took me a long time to realize that my driver tempo needed to be like 3x as fast for wedges to get perfect (or roughly what it feels like). I recommend going to training and hitting EVERY CLUB in your bag to get a feel for the perfect tempo of each. 3) PRACTICE SWINGS. At first I would rarely do a practice swing before a shot, now I do about 5 for every shot. Yes, it slows down play, but it also gives you great feedback and allows you build up the muscle memory right before the shot. This alone helped me drop 10 shots at the beginning. 4) PLAY LIKE REAL GOLF. This is a game and its easy to get into that arcade style trap, but play like real golf. If the fairway target is thin hit 3w instead of driver. If you know you swing fast on a miss with your wedge, aim right and short of hole, play winds, distances, lay up, etc. These things really really helped me. I also am much more happy with the game now. I played some rounds at the start with beginner swing, shot -15 and it was fun, but by the end of the 4 round tournament it was already boring and less rewarding to just watch a ball move to where I said till it was over. Then bumping to master it made things like a lipped out birdie putt hurt, or a chipped in eagle make me shout out loud. I find it so much more rewarding and there are so many more stakes at hand. This makes me super excited to continue to get better at master and maybe even go to legendary 1 day. In conclusion, stick with friends, dont get discouraged that you will "never make it on master", it takes practice, like most things in life. Good luck all, and have fun

Here's a quick little video of a few swings where you can see the effect of an overswing on the width of the tempo for perfect and the surrounding grey areas:

I'm assuming all test events are Master difficulty with various aids on/off?
Regarding PS4 users - I play PS4 and am currently +5 on hole 12 at Pearl Mountain. If this is an "advantage", I'd hate to play on Xbox or PC.
Haptic feedback. Maybe in the hands of better players it matters, but I don't think it helps me one bit, and personally, I'd like it off simply because I find it (and the rumble) distracting.
Shag carpet greens (119) should be BANNED.

Shag carpet greens (119) should be BANNED. The problem is that Societies cannot lock down / restrict the swing difficulty currently. The events are intended for Master swing difficulty I believe, but you can change them on the user end, unfortunately. I tested this and it is a bug that HB will need to address.

Did someone setup a qschool practice tourney? Sadly without the ability to turn off haptic feedback, it will be another example of controller users having a HUGE advantage over mouse users. We are used to it but it still bites. Honestly not sure that's the case. Maybe my controller was going bad ( just purchased a new one because I couldn't hit anything), but my vibration would start the moment I started pulling the stick back and last through the whole swing. So I shut it off after about 10 shots.

Thanks Doyley and staff for getting all this together. Can’t wait for the new season with all these changes. Appreciate the effort.
One quick question, do you know if percentage will be allowed with the distance control meter off? I’ve been playing with it on but I’ll turn it off if it won’t be an option on the tours.
Thanks again

Doyley could you or someone in the know share a couple of screenshots of the settings that we should be practicing with if we want to simulate tour settings?

Hey Doyley -- has the team discussed splitting up the consoles to allow for the harder (I will say "more realistic") Xbox users to stand a swinging chance this year? From what I can tell PS4 carried over all the same advantages. If not, I get it - just curious if there was any real discussion about this after seeing how PS4 users dominate. We don't have enough data from the new game, yet, to see if any advantage exists for any system. That's why we need everyone playing the exhibition events, so we can collect and analyze the data. I can't wait to see the data that you have about which consoles / pc has the most perfect tempo achieved.

Look at the tempo above the feedback. Watch the white and grey get noticeably smaller at the top of the swing. That is when you are getting into 101% and higher in an overswing.

I can't wait to see the data that you have about which consoles / pc has the most perfect tempo achieved. I would be interested if their API data gathers just straight tempo reading like "Very Slow, Slow, Perfect, Fast, and Very Fast" or if they get a raw gradient reading as a number. Like 0 is perfect, negative numbers are slow, and positive numbers are fast.
Keep in mind forgiveness in club choice, not overswinging, and how much you try to move sliders around pre-shot all affect how difficult a perfect swing is on top of the swing difficulty setting.

Kind of hard not to overswing since HB decided to make the swing the speed of sound...

We get both the grade for both backswing and downswing and swing timings for each.
