Let me jump in here...I think spartan feels that you always weigh in on every issue with a certain hoity toity gravitas based on arrogance thinking you know everything,..but he’s too polite to outright say it. But you are in fact right in this case. Spartan is being unnecessarily judgmental. I'm just here to appreciate this comment tbh Happy Golfing

Kind of hard not to overswing since HB decided to make the swing the speed of sound... Haha, I literally takes me 5 practice swings per shot to not overswing with anything other than wedges

With the move away from real tour/tournaments names. Will this mean a move away from using courses similar to real life?

Haha, I literally takes me 5 practice swings per shot to not overswing with anything other than wedges For some reason it appears to be the "default" swing. Prior to hitting any club/shot, take the backswing up to full...that's 101 +%...

This game makes me want to smash my controller into little pieces on master club mode.

Doyley has no idea what is going on with average players. Ive been playing fourball and have seen 4 FIR out of 180 tee shots taken on pro am difficulty. Four shots in the fairway in five nine hole rounds of four players on pro-am.

Did someone setup a qschool practice tourney? Sadly without the ability to turn off haptic feedback, it will be another example of controller users having a HUGE advantage over mouse users. We are used to it but it still bites. I don’t like haptic it gives me anxiety so I turned it off. Not needed

Anyone else notice that even though societies have restrictions you can still change difficulty while playing the event? Seems like that is a bug? Unless I don’t know how the restrictions are supposed to work.
Restrictions are seen under administration tab in the society menu, toggle them X button.

Some options are marked as 'open' that lets you change stuff.

Mark my words... Master difficulty won't sit well with the lower league players. As a former Euro Hall of Famer, I know what I'm talking about. Go ahead and ink that in. They're gonna hafta go to pro. 3 weeks of testing and they're still at stage 1. Smh. I've played 5 rds and I already see it coming.
Maybe master with meter tho. I get they want all players on the same clubs. But they're gonna cry trust me. You've been warned.

I get they want all players on the same clubs. But they're gonna cry trust me. You've been warned. 1) after even 20 hours of playing I went from +30 to +5-10 with master and no meters. Making a call before people get practice is premature. With any physical thing it takes time to get better. If you play tea golf think about how much better you were from your first swing to your 1000th, the same thing will happen here. People need time to build the muscle memory, but it will come. I see many on the societies already shooting -5 a round, so it’s def possible. 2) meters, IMO make it harder with master, it sounds counterintuitive but they distract you from your tempo and swing path. I generally don’t get why it matters end of the day, if everyone in your tour is similar skill, then shooting -5 vs + 5 is irrelevant. The scores compared to each other is what matters. I guess you can argue that it’s “more fun” to score lower, but I actually like being closer to even than waaaay below, so that argument is subject and it’s impossible to please everyone. The reason I like master or harder is it allows the best players to actually separate themselves more. If it’s ez difficulty, the gap between best and worse are closer, this is not how things work in real life, so why should something that’s trying to mimic real life deviate.

I can't even get close to qualifying from Q-School (with the players on Very Easy)... best score is around 87 (+15-ish)... using Masters. The issue I have is of course overswining - always in the red.. and putting... it' either falls just short.. or goes 10 metres past... (such a small change makes such a massive difference).

Just finished up 2 rounds of Q-School in Career Mode using pretty much the exact settings we'll be getting in TGCTours. Used golf category Callaway woods, gold cat. Taylormade irons, and HOF (purple) cat. Callaway wedges. Finished -2, burned a lot of edges so things can definitely improve. Final stats for me:
75% FIR 72.22% GIR 284.7 Driving Distance 26.7 ft Proximity To Hole 100% putts < 5ft 60% putts 5-10ft 22.22% putts > 10ft 80% Scrambling
Longest Scoring Putts: 23.6ft Round 1 31.0ft Round 2
I definitely think I can do a bit better, my second round definitely wasn't great at +1. Course selection and conditions are definitely going to matter, though, as a course with narrow fairways, thick rough, and slippery greens are going to SKYROCKET scores, and that's just compared to where the general population is at now. I definitely think Master clubs with most aids off is the right direction to take the Pro Tours though.

@drew I agree with you. I just think that going 'competitive' (which I'm all for) will be the end of the casual player in tgctours.
Now that I think about it. Maybe O'Doyle has been plannin' for 3 weeks.
Is it the right decision? Will you wilt under pressure when the donations decline? Time will tell.
