I just want to thank all the great contributors in this thread. I have not added value to this but have reaped great information that I am very grateful for.
My swing, at I think level 42ish now, has shown some consistency in Pro to the point my scores have occasionally dipped under par and can enjoy the game. On Masters I still have swings that look like a fish hook or hieroglyphics so there is less certainty where the ball is going. Putting is hard, but I can not make heads or tails on the pitch shot. The difference in a lob wedge pitch going 54 yards and 24 yards is maddeningly minuscule...it seems that way on Pro and Masters. Chipping feels clunky but am slowly figuring it out. For me splash feels like the old flop and the flop.......who flops from 40 yards out?
Sorry for the rant. On my Chromebook now, will add my settings next time I am at my PC.
Onward!
As promised:
Windows mouse motion speed is 4 with enhanced precision
Razer Deathadder Elite
Single DPI 1950
In game sensitivity 50
Getting great FPS so lag is not an issue, just my ability.

The pitch shot is just....bizzare. If you don't nail it, then it goes anywhere but where you think it will. The Splash and the flops are now the replacements to the pitch, unfortunately.
I will say this also, I think this game was meant to be played with the Distance control on. We asked for a better way to do partial shots, and the Distance Control was their answer. I'm a little unsure why TGCT has decided to turn it off.
Putting for me is fine within 20 feet or so, but longer distances I still have no feel for. Again, I think the meter they provided was intended to be used, it's turned on for Masters difficulty as well.
I'm also going to post this in it's own thread, but I'd curious if any mouse users are having this issue with the swings being the same, whether they are fast, slow, or perfect. I try to show this best I can in the video:

When I first got the game, that was happening with me. I did a full reinstall and now, I'm not getting the identical perfects, slow/fasts. I've had perfects just barely in the cone and dead center. But yes, the very first time I installed the game, I had this happening to me all the time. I'm not sure what changed with the fresh install but things seem to be working properly now.
I'm also getting a lot more perfects. I'd say i'm 40-45% now.

I believe it is the 2k folder under C:\Users\(nameofcomputer)\Appdata\LocalLow and save the 2k folder. You have to put it back after you reinstall. If you can't see the Appdata folder you have to go to click on VIEW and choose SHOW HIDDEN FILES.

Like Art mentioned, I'd be worried about losing my clubs and stuff, but I would think that would be stored in the Steam Cloud.

You have to save that 2k file I posted about. That file has all your customizations, PGA tour stats, fed ex points, sponsor stuff, outfits and clubs. When you load it back up, start up the game, then exit and put back the folder and all will be back.

Maybe you don't have Steam cloud saves on?

I saved the file to be sure, but would be nice if I get all my gear back straight away.
Doing this on super slow hotel wifi.....glad I have my Chromebook to pass the time with.

Maybe you don't have Steam cloud saves on? No when you deleted it via steam, it doesn't remove all of the golf game files, so technically there can be still issues because some files are still there. THere are files in the 2k that are saved and files in the STEAM\common\steamapps file that aren't deleted either.
To be running 100% clean, you should delete all the extra folders for the game, after your uninstall and only put the ONe file in the 2k folder that has your settings.
Me, I just wrote down everything i had and reinstalled everything and reset up everything.
But seriously if you just do the quick uninstall, you didn't really full uninstall it without deleting the other files.

Actually it is C:(or D:) Steam\Steamapps\Common\PGAtour2k21 that should be fully deleted and removed. Then you save the 2k file under User\AppData\LocalLow\ and put it somewhere safe. Clear your recycle bin. Reinstall the game. Play the game once to let all the patching go through. Exit game. Replace the 2k file. All is good.

To be fair, any new patch in the early part of the game. I do a full uninstall/reinstall, because sometimes the patch overwrites files, but fails to remove files that no longer are needed and can still interfere with the game. It is just something I do.

A regular uninstall thru the Steam menu completely removed the game and the folder in the /steamapps folder. I'm not deleting the 2K folder as that has all my playerinfo. A complete reinstall has made no change on how the game is recognizing swings. Even a new calibration had no affect whatsoever.

Did the uninstall/reinstall, pulling the 2K folder to the desktop first. After the reinstall my golfer had the level and coins right but appearance was back at square one. Exiting the game and swapping in the 2K folder fixed appearances.
This whole process does not seem to have changed anything about the swing, at least for me. Still the same steady inconsistency, which is a struggle but maybe with hours of more practice I can get better. Got miles to go before I could earn a spot in CC somewhere.
Still glad I went through this process, although since doing this I need to tweak a few things with some other apps like Discord. Might have to do the same un/reinstall with it.
Onward!
