So because I play 400 dpi and 60 in game Im not legit? I shot 7 over on the platinum event and hit 7 greens in four rounds..... but im not legit...lol I'm not saying you aren't legit. I'm simply saying that after four iterations of this game, we have found that USUALLY, 400 DPI will trigger the API and cause a disqualification. For you it may not, but for the vast majority over the last 5+ years, it has. The admin and the API has the final word. If you don't get Dq'd, more power to you, but if you do, this is the reason why. There is a reason why HB themselves, since TGC 1, have had a 'suggested DPI'. They won't even test the game with a mouse below that DPI because it is too straight and they can't get realistic feedback when it is too low.
Of course there is no rule from HB that says you have to play with it at 800. Heck you can have angle snapping on. HB doesn't care. The TGCTours, however, do have set rules that state people who shoot unnaturally straight, will get disqualified. "Unnaturally straight" is defined as being so straight that a normal person wouldn't be able to achieve it without some sort of outside aid. Low DPI, angle snapping, scripts, rubber bands, straight edging, ect all are considered outside aid.
BTW I'm not judging, I'm just trying to save you some headaches down the line.

I understand Brighttail. I hope you can see that in no way shape or form I am trying to cheat or change the system, I just had no idea me grinding my swing on 400 or 800 dpi was such a sin.
Thanks

Thanks Once again...it isn't a sin, you play how you want to play. All i'm saying is it may cause problems in these tournaments. I see you are new to the tours so you haven't had to go through a lot of the pains us mouse users have endured over the years. Controller users have it no better. If they have a controller that is too old and has dead spots, they often have to go out and buy a new controller to play on the tours, because of the same rules. At least we have the ability to change our settings without having to buy a new mouse...unless it is a really old one that doesn't have an adjustable DPI setting.
Did you check the tour leaderboard that you played in? Are you still there? If so, great! Keep checking in on it over the next few weeks. If you maintain on the leaderboard without dropping you are in good shape. If not and you need some ideas I can help ya with some settings.

Still up there. Will keep in touch with any questions, thanks Good job. Best way is to play a few of them, so they can record the data. Now is the time to get any DQ's if you are going to get them as they won't count until the Q-school starts. Many use this time to test out swings to see if they will pass the API and there is a whole forum you can post and ask questions about how close you are, ect.

It gives people a few weeks before Q-school start to register if there is some sort of problem or not.

So, I was getting somewhat consistent with around a 1500 DPI setting on my mouse and a very low in game sensitivity. Lots of perfects on full swings, especially off the tee with random slows and very slows thrown in. However, on short game shots, the only way for me to get perfects was to be practically violent with the downswing, to the point that I started experiencing shoulder pain (My right shoulder has already had surgery, so yeah, there's that.) I also got my cat a couple of times on my swing, which he was not amused by.
As a result, I've been tinkering with vastly different settings. My mouse allows 3 different DPI settings that can switch on the fly on the mouse, so I have a putting setting (AKA There's water left and I don't want to go there, so we're going to get a slow at 1200 DPI), a regular swing setting (4000 DPI) and a fast setting (AKA There's water on the right and I don't want to go there, so we're going to get a fast at 7000 DPI).
The new higher DPI settings are meaning a bit more variance in swing plane, but I'm still fairly good there. However, even at a crazy 7000 DPI, I can still get a perfect or even slow swing. However, at least without trying super hard, I can't get anything other than a slow swing at 1200 DPI.
I spent a couple hours on the range and playing practice rounds last night. The potential is there to make this work, but I now have to unlearn both my TGC 2019 swing, which was silky smooth and my violent early 2K21 swing.
I am seeing one or two swings of max Very Slow each round, as if the game registered the start of the swing, then lost communication with the mouse data and gave a result as if I stopped moving the mouse entirely.
Oh, one more thing, the bug where the swing plane can make a right (or left) turn or even fishhook seems to be really lessened by turning down in game mouse sensitivity...

What you described I have done on several occasions. For TGC 2 and 2019 I had a DPI setting for drives and approaches and another for chipping & putting. That is another advantage mice players have over controllers as we can adjust those DPI on the fly with a simple button press. Basically what you did by having your DPI at 1500 and turn the mouse sensitivity lower is you effectively lowered your DPI in game. Completely legal and encouraged Lowering the sensitivity doesn't have as much as an effect on your swing plane, it just slows or speeds up your swing. It is meant to help compensate your DPI choice for better fine tuning. So if you have to have more than one DPI to swing and one to putt. Go for it!! In the end all of us are slaves to the API. It is in effect and that is good. If you find yourself suddenly off the scoreboard, there is a Fair Play forum you can ask questions on. NOW is the time to experiment when there is no penalty for a DQ.

I also got my cat a couple of times on my swing, which he was not amused by. I've noticed this as well, especially on the Splash shots. I don't know why, but I really have to try to for a fast to keep the shot from being a very slow. Annoying, and I don't have the luxury of changing my DPI on the fly. Thankfully I also use a trackball mouse, so my shoulder's safe for now.

I filed a request with 2K support about my mouse tempo issue. Seeing the data from the API confirms there's something broken here. Whether that's on my end with my mouse or the game, I have no idea, but I'm sure they will not consider it's a problem on their end. That's how tech support works.
We'll see what happens, but I just can't play this game with the tempo issues I'm seeing. Maybe I'll go back to trying it with the tempo off and the other settings jacked up to compensate.

It is only a problem if the admin say you'll be DQ'd cause of the issue. If they don't have an issue with it, you shouldn't worry too much.
As for me. Putting is killing me without that meter. It is so hard to find a practice putting stroke that actually registers for something that is 30-40 feet. Nothing more frustrating than a great round going and suddenly a 5 putt.

I've had fewer issues with putting, but do occasionally see the bug where if a meter was present, you'd see it jump forward and underhit the putt.
Other than that, I created a spreadsheet for myself with putt percentages for all distances from 1' to 110' on 109 to 187 greens. It's kind of like having the percentage only, just more work because I have to look up the correct percentage every time. And of course at the seriously long range putts, 1% on the power equates to 5', so mistakes are costly, but it does make sense since lag putting is hard for everyone. (Except maybe Jon Rahm?)

I have to go by the putter's hands for under 20 feet. Over I look at his shoulders to about 40'. Beyond that it is a luck box game.
