Dun Caonach Estate (CC) My entry into the TGCTours CC Design Contest has been published and is now available to play. The course plays at just over 7400 yards, navigating around the countryside. The course is inspired by a mixture of courses of the same nature including Close House, host of the British Masters and The K Club, home to the 2006 Ryder Cup. Both 9's offer their own challenges, across the front 9 you will be faced with the opportunity to work the golf ball around corners and to get creative with various changes in elevation. On the back 9, water comes the the fore. Keep the ball in play and you can score well, miss fairways and the course bites back. There will be a second version of the course dropping in the coming days, this second course will offer multiple tee options including a number of "Tiger Tees" to challenge players long game and give a fresh new look and approach to playing the course, but this is my contest version. Enjoy your rounds and as always, feel free to give some feedback.

Wow. This course had some brilliant moments. First off, I really liked the vibe of the course off the first tee. Second, some of these greens are massive! I mean that in the best way possible. The areas around the pins are fair, but if you end up on the wrong side of the green, you're looking at a seriously challenging two putt. I had some epic putts in my round though thanks to the way they were crafted. This also lends to some great tournaments that use different pins for each round. The rockwork on hole 4 was great, and hole 9 was a solid end to the front. The view off of the 15th tee was my favorite on the course. Hole 16 had well done rockwork and a waterfall... instant favorite for the course. Hole 18 is a par 5 that could lead to either a collapse of your round or a hero finish. Overall, awesome job. I truly enjoyed the round.

Up until a few days ago that hole was completely different and I really hated it, glad I made the changes ππ

The K Club is quite local to me and I've played there a few times (both the Smurfit & Palmer).
Excellent work here. Proper golf course this one. Had a bogeyless -4 round. I could certainly go better, but I reckon with this one I could also certainly go worse! Found myself needing to make a few good putts to save par over the course of the round.
I can confirm the 15th tee shot looks very nice indeed.
Great job. Cheers!

Have played both courses in the K Club, some beautiful holes on the Smurfit course but hard to compare with the Palmer course. With this one I worked really hard on creating a realistic setup that still challenged you without being unfair.

Well, you certainly succeeded in that regard!
My cuppa as they say. I've no idea what the judges look for exactly, but good luck in the comp and thanks for the work you put in creating this. It was a very enjoyable round and I'll be back.
