To be clear, my question wasn't one driven by skepticism at V's play being legit or anything, I'm honestly curious as to what he's getting out of that process. I guess it could be what Hippy said, but I don't see how going right every time, to every pin (at least what I watched) shows you the best angle, but we all have our quirks. I thought it was a read for wind direction to judge what was exactly down/into based on the wind vane movement while rotating the camera, but it didn't make sense on a couple of holes, so Idk...interesting tactic, would love to hear from the man himself if he's up for handing out some tips to us hackers. It's a little bit on what Hippy said. If I know I can't get it close to a tough pin...I'm looking for the easiest 10 to 40 footer in which I think I can make. But I mainly swivel to the right...to look at what the putting grid lines are doing at/near the surrounding hole location. I started doing it for when I was between clubs. Now I just do it by habit on every approach shot. I'm afraid it's nothing too revolutionary. Sorry. I had never thought to do this and in the 2 rounds I payed today i did this on a few holes and it is freaking brilliant. Really allows me to see where a good miss is.

No. I changed my last name for work related inquiries.

Started slow and finished slow in R1 so scored a solid yet unspectacular -10. -1 through the first 4, and finished par-par-par.
Missed a 6ft'er on 1 to open round 2. Was tempted to stop there but I'm glad I didn't. Birdied the rest of the front 9 apart from #8 where I missed a 5ft putt. Those 2 were probably my shortest birdie putts of the whole round. Missed a couple really easy putts in both rounds but a 43ft eagle on 14 slightly made up for it. 3-putt bogey on 16 was my only dropped shot between the 2 rounds. Finished R2 at -13
-23 is an easy made cut for a change. See you at the weekend.

Well, I am not going to cut watch for very long as -18 will be gone sometime on Wednesday. If -19 can hold on (not a lock by any means, but it has a chance) to make the cut, I could move into a tie for most cuts missed by one stroke for the season. That is like my only #1 stat I could claim, so I am going for it. LOL
Can't really blame any poorly played holes as I went bogey free. I just putted poorly as is my usual M.O. (t11 in GIR and t102 in putting). I really wish we could get average putt distance per GIR as a stat! This would be Avg putt (Dist)/GIR obviously.
Anyways, good luck to all yet to play and also to those with rounds yet to finish! See you next week.

Hes pans to the right to get a better idea of whats happening at the hole. To try and leave the easier putt Man. Must be nice to know youβre going to actually have a straight line to play for that. That maybe happens 1/3 of the time for my approaches. Lots of down hill curlers this week.

5 so far ladies and gents:
Sadly, it's 3 DQ's in the last 4 starts for Jason NIchols, who will now be out of the Majors for the remainder of the year.
Sometimes if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and has a username a bit like a duck, it is a duck! But hopefully this is just a minor bump in the road for one of the men of the moment in recent weeks.1st time.
1st time for a Welshman
1 straight up on promo from the USA
1 straight up on promo from the UK

Was -1 through 5 but birdies on the 12 of the next 13 holes (bloody 17th) meant I posted another good score. Hit a slight bump in the middle of round 4 but otherwise I played well. -12. -48 total for what will be my best tournament of the year. 2 shots off the current lead on PS4. Hopefully I will hold on to a top 10 but defo a top 20. Good luck all Edit: forgot to mention that obviously the course selection and conditions were perfect

My form continues... -30 through two.
I say form and not consistency as my swing was a bit hit and miss regarding hitting it straight, but my tempo was very good for both rounds.
I was hanging on in round one, constant fidgeting and controller grip movement to try and find my groove. I wasn't too disappointed with -11 there.
Round two was just one of those rounds that you get from time to time: even though I kept leaving myself GW shots (I don't carry a gap wedge) some of my best approaches were either fully lofted Pitching Wedges, or fully delofted Sand Wedges. Over the moon with a 53.
A little miffed that I didn't make eagle on the 18th in round two; I hit a beauty into 11 feet with a 25 yard draw that had a look at the pin on the way by. I under read the putt and missed low.
In days past I would try and continue to ride the wave and play all four rounds at once. But with the inconsistent nature of my swing and TGC2019; I just can't keep that feeling going for more than a couple of rounds at a time.

Meeeehhh... Lipped out a fairly short downhill putt on 18 that would have got me to -19, and MAYBE make the cut, but I did the damage in R1. Medium gash, with a lot of flags and poor putting. I really do feel like I'm just going through the motions on PGA at the moment... giving TST a bit more attention, but finding the game a bit of a grind for some reason right now. I think it's down to a few good games and PS5 on the horizon if I'm honest. Other news, we're up to 6... Al Sorry to see you're still struggling.

Thanks fadge for the condolences. It's ok though. Just a game. For a guy trying his hardest over the past weeks dealing with the new metric and staying straight on swings, I must say I went out with a bang. Back to back 57's. π shows how messed up this game is. Hit em straight gentlemen!!! And find enjoyment in whatever you do
