The next round of results will be announced in the thread tomorrow afternoon, which will bring us down to the Top 5. At that point, judges will finalize their rankings and from what I understand, judging coordinator PithyDoctorG and some folks are going to be streaming a results show next week with the reveal of the top 5 rankings, including your winner, that will host the TGC Tours Olympic event on PGA. Stay tuned!

Even though I have never been participant in a design contest in any fashion, either as a designer or a judge etc other than one contest when I had to withdraw due to Xbox issues, I have been a member of tgctours for five years, so I feel like my sentiments are merited but if my lack of design contest experience causes you to ignore I am saying that is fine, I don't care.
In five years, this is by far the best gaming community I have ever been apart of, I mean holy hell, I must have 25 good buddies from these forums. Many gaming forums I have been apart of in the past has had continual dissention, toxicity, and downright unpleasantness. This community is overall awesome and different aside from the blowups associated sometimes with the design contests.
While I love some friendly competition and competitive spirit, the contests recently have caused emotions to run high and have caused negativity amongst the field of entrants. I totally understand that weeks and sometimes months have been consumed to design, create, and playtest a course and therefore it is understandable and normal to feel slighted when your course doesn't finish as high as expected. However, I believe that when tensions run high enough to cause hurt feelings and friendships to turn sour, inherently the intensity of the competition has been pushed too far. In the end, everyone is fulfilling the desires of what these contests are utilized for, to pump out quality courses for everyone in the community to enjoy.
In most of these contests especially recently, the fields have been absolutely stacked including this one. Because of this, anyone had a shot of winning and the track record of these designers are impeccable. Because of this, their is most likely a fine line of difference between 10 or so spots. I have played every course in the contest and they are all very well done in unique ways.
Sorry this has been so long winded but I think to myself, if a new person were to join the forums would they assume these boards were like any other or would they be able to differentiate just how impactful we are all? like I said earlier you guys are awesome and foster a community which is conducive to being inviting and friendly, don't let a friendly competition run by a volunteer staff taint the purpose of these contests. Ultimately designers and judges are all volunteers so therefore everyone is an equal contributor to the community and making a positive difference.
If I have pissed people off, I sincerely apologize, just wanted to put my sentiments out there and hopefully I have not overextended myself with abrasion.

I’m just pissed about that beer you owe me 😂😜 Seriously though, well said GD. You’re spot on about your point of differentiation being our decorum. Hell, look how the HB forums devolved over the years. We just need to treat each other with respect. No clue how today’s cut will shake out, but best of luck to all that are still alive. Regardless of the result, let’s celebrate the top five and console the five that don’t make it.

Ok I'm going to throw in some final predictions...
I'm saying Black Salt, Edenvale, Conservatory, Quincy and my own Fairyland get into the final.
Based off my own opinions on playability, difficulty and variety on those courses. I've excluded aesthetics so I could be massively wrong. And yes, I've backed my own course and I'm very much looking forward to carrying the tradition in this thread of flying off the handle when/if I'm knocked out. I'll call you all C words and you'll all be dead to me. No pressure, judges...
