👀 I think that image tells you all you need to know, but I am also prepared to issue sanctions for those involved in the CC Contest should they meet Mr. Banhammer. Like Andre said, everybody just get along and if you don't have anything nice to say .

So I've been a contestant in 3 or 4 contests, been a judge in a couple and followed most of them the rest of them.
Nearly every one had controversy!
Thing is though, there's been hard feelings between members but the community is strong.
I remember first breaking in and there were guys like Pablo, scampii and Sam that would immediately reply to any of my questions. I faced Sam in my first design contest and he would go out his way to help with things I didn't know how to do.
What you guys are building here is so very impressive. It blows me away how unique and creative these courses are coming out.
Long live Nenesten estates!

I could have sworn a keg was that thing that sat on the living room floor inside 304 Grant St. that the freshmen I sold cups to got their beer out of...
....
Anywho...I've been out of the designer/contest loop for a bit, so it's a bit interesting to see how things have (d)evolved, but as Chad pointed out, it's kind of always been like this in most contests, to some extent or another. My overriding suggestion for things - which matters somewhere between little and none - is to simplify. Take judging and base it off of 1 quantitative metric - on a scale of 1 to 10, how willing are you to recommend this course to a friend (or maybe how willing would you be to recommend this course to TGC schedulers to host a major, in this instance)? Encourage judges to jot some notes as they play, constructive feedback on some things they felt could have been done better, stuff they loved, maybe some things they just didn't understand, but don't necessarily require those subjective opinions/evaluations to be tied directly into a numeric judging criteria used to determine the outcome. Don't ask for hole-by-hole notes (unless judges prefer to), let judges provide as much or as little as they want, only require the single rating and a brief explanation on why they gave that rating. The idea of making things more complex to solve a problem is something that seems helpful, but IMO with various people of various perspectives, levels of experience, preferences, etc. judging something that's so subjective, I think simpler may well be better.
Just a thought. Carry on.

Good lord what the hell happened in here?
FWIW I agree with everything reeb said in his long comment there.
Also just my opinion but I feel this has been the best quality panel I’ve been on. Subjectivity is what it is but I feel the analysis we’ve been doing is rigorous.

I think the main thing is temperatures are just running high, and I also agree with Reeb's sentiment. As long as some courses win/advance and some don't, there's always going to be bruised egos. Most people in this community handle it pretty well. Having said that, nothing that I've read here suggests that our judging process (in this contest, anyway) is somehow deficient and needs serious reform (which doesn't mean that you agree with every outcome--I don't and I'm running the friggin' panel!). Seems like the only real argument to make if we think the current system is broken is that we should just make our contests way lower key. Tweaking scoring or judging formats won't prevent blow-ups (minor or major) from occurring with every contest.

Holy crap people. VctryLnSprts , send me the picture thingies. I'll just do it. It will be amazing. You will laugh, cry, and maybe poop your pants. Let's just stop whatever the hell is going on here. TannerBronson don't withdraw. Let's just keep this civil. I guess I have some courses to play so I can talk about them. I can co-host and shoulder the load in terms of talking about the results, Andre. I just need a wingman to handle the multi-media end. Also, to be clear, we're just talking about a final results show, not the next round of cuts.

Y’all have done a great job developing these things the past couple of years, definitely wasn’t trying to insinuate otherwise - just a random though. I’m not involved here though and didn’t intend to take it off topic, I’ll head back to the grandstands

You know I’m the new guy on the block I’ve only done about 5 courses now, but all of this sh%$ is just immature who cares about a contest. I love these comps cause you get the best designers in the game. Going at it and who doesn’t love FRIENDLY competition but the way some of y’all have acted is just dumb and childish. Eric thank you for running a great competition even though I got put out early I still enjoyed my first comp. good luck to all that are left. Ps. Eric Andre mayday all of you guys have been so helpful in my designs and I hope to keep learning more from this community.
