I can’t see the game being released without a course creator...it’s what set it apart from the previous PGA Tour games imo. No course creator = no design community = no TGCTours/societies = dead game within a couple of months...

Hopefully it's a great game, but hb has beat the high expectations out of me.

A move towards no course creation and monetizing creating courses would be a horrible choice, IMO. Especially for those that create their own (a.k.a. non-RCRs) courses.

No course creator = no design community = no TGCTours/societies = dead game within a couple of months... While I, as a designer, certainly hope they keep it in this new game... I honestly wouldn't be that surprised if they didn't put it in. The casual offline and matchmaking play of TGC far outweighs the design and TGC Tours community. I know some have speculated the TGC Tours community makes up maybe 10% of the total active TGC player base, I think that might be on the high end. There have been many successful golf video games that did not include a designer like the long running Tiger/Rory line from EA. A concerning thing for me is that it is called "2K21" and not "The Golf Club". I know it's all speculation at this point but that suggests 2K took more control over the game and as a large company they'll be looking to maximize profits and appeal to a wider audience, and that usually means a more arcade-like experience.

I can’t see them not keeping the sim gameplay in and then alienating all current players. But I do think there will be a more arcade type setting, more distance on easy clubs, more clubs and real gear etc.

It would be just stupid to eliminate the designer editor or to not release the game for PC. And at 2k are not stupid. I'm not too afraid about this. I mainly hope that will be possible to translate the TGC2019 courses to the new game..We have a lot of great courses created by designers, no counting way more than 1000 RCRs right now..it would be a shame to restart from 0.. But i agree that 2k will try to monetize better than HB. Maybe they could offer packs of extra objects for the editor, extra real courses, extra objects to personalize the avatar..and stuff like this. I'm more curious about the career mode. And the "basic" look and personalization of the avatar. Probably the worst parts of the game...I'm curious to see how the PGA license it will be used.. I dream, but it would be beautiful to have also the copyrights of the European Tour...

We have some of the best course designers here and it would truly sad if the new game didn't have the course creater.

All I want are swing exploits to be fixed and cross-platform play. That's it.

HB has historically removed good parts of the game they had included in the past, and now that it’s driven by 2K, it’s possible there are more changes than ever coming in this year’s version. I fully expect a more player friendly game with micro transactions everywhere. I just hope the game is recognizable and TGCTours can continue to exist and thrive. Besides that I anticipate some big differences
