At least now we know the answer to the question of are we getting a new game.
Does that mean another reset if the tours?

I'm having a hard time getting excited about this, after so much bitter disappointment. Same here Ron, doubt I'll be getting this day 1 like I have the other 3. How many months was it in this version before it was abandoned and they don't even acknowledge there's issues with certain swings? Will probably be half price after a couple of months the same as this one during the Ryder Cup again.

We are in the age of micro transactions. I would look for this to be added.
My first questions were...can created courses be ported over? Will we have to deal with the 3 different club sets again? How much will 2K people work with Tgctours here, if at all?

All great questions by everyone. I think there will be some microtransactions. I think that's the most efficient way to monetize a game nowadays. Initial revenue on release dries up in a month or two and companies operate at a loss 10 months out of the year. Now the questions are what aspects will be monetized? Since there is currently nothing in this game. I think they will slowly add things in over the years. At first purely cosmetic items or DLC "Official" courses perhaps? I think we can all agree we don't want any parts of gameplay behind a pay wall or become Pay2Win.

To save time how about we wind back about 2 years and copy and paste all the posts from that thread in to this one?
It's got the designer, it's TGC with a rebrand - good news! Going to be some changes, some people will like it, some people won't, PS4 players will have a button where they just have to press it and the ball goes in the hole like a rat down a drainpipe. Maybe. We all have hopes for what we'd like to see, mainly I'm just excited they haven't given up on the game and we've got yet another version to look forward to. Despite the issues I still think this is the best golf experience I've ever had with my thumb on a little stick, and call me crazy but I think each version so far has improved on the last. More of the same please!

I will be interested to see if this gets moved over to simulation software like TGC 19.

Here is a fun headline from 2018: Microtransactions are an 'unfortunate reality of modern gaming', says 2KMy personal guess is the virtual currency will be a lot more valuable this time around, and therefore plenty of ways to buy it with real money. Prediction: There will be the introduction of some sort of attribute system since the most likely thing people would pay real money for is to make their player better. Possibly in the form of purchasing new equipment. That shiny new driver now adds +5 driving accuracy and +5 driving power. Make every club in your bag upgradable to various levels using virtual currency and 2k has an entire virtual golf store full of reasons for people to spend real money. In some ways I'd like an attribute system if it didn't kill competitive balance, but I'd be shocked if we don't see some sore of "pay to win" features included

That will mean that if a few decide to ‘level up’ everyone on TGC will have to, to ensure they can compete. I can’t see there being a ‘turn attribute upgrades off’ for events, because people won’t bother paying if that’s the case. Hopefully the microtransactions are official courses (which can be ignored if you use created ones) and vanity things like clothes etc

Hopefully the microtransactions are official courses (which can be ignored if you use created ones) and vanity things like clothes etc I hope we can keep things relatively balanced anyway, but I would envision it as an opportunity to "speed up" the improved skill level. You could probably still buy that equipment with the virtual currency you earn while playing the game normally, but the microtransaction would simply be a direct infusion of that virtual currency. I don't really see any other content that they'd get any real return for. Courses would be the obvious one, but if the designer is still in the game there won't be any shortage of worthy courses and no need to pay extra for the "official" ones. The vanity items, I don't even use my fake money in game now to pay for that, I can't imagine they'd get much return at all on having to pay real money for a different article of clothing. I'm just speculating, but its the way other games have been run. NBA 2K series, virtual currency can be used to upgrade skills and attributes in their "MyPlayer" game mode. It can be earned in game, the real money purchase just gives you the opportunity to buy it faster

Make every golfer capable of being a little different, if I wanted to be a big hitter my accuracy may suffer or i may have to take away from my short game. Or I'm a shorter hitter but really good around the greens. on the flip side, there would also be an opportunity to really screw it up. It may not be coming at all, its just my own theory based on some of their other games

I used to get very excited about golf game releases, but with the last version that HB released and the total lack of support after only four months; it's difficult to get very excited at all atm.
Let's just hope that they've actually learned from their mistakes 🤞
