So overswing is useless and only penalizing ? Tbh from watching the streams it it didn't look like it penalised too much. Personally I would have preferred more of a 110% or maybe 115% overswing distance. Irl if you overswing too much you end up making bad contact and the ball goes shorter than a regular swing. The 94% is the equivalent of swinging too hard which makes you actually swing slower instead of faster? But I hope every swing would render a different % but I’m guessing that’s not going to happen.

Here's some more tempo data for you guys. Another simple experiment. 20 driver shots at the range with a Bridgestone Driver. I expect many will choose this at the beginning as it has the longest distance, but the lowest forgiveness. I did this with the meter on and the distance control assist off. Once I was into testing Master/Legend and hitting 80-100 shots right after another, I was in more of a tempo groove. That being said, here's my results. This is after about 20 hours of gameplay at various difficulties. Also, off tempo shots always don't go significantly off target. Slows and fasts that just missed the window were almost straight at the target. As you can see. Even with about 20 hours played, I'm still not hitting half my shots perfect tempo with my driver at even the middle difficulty levels!

Thanks Doyley, another example of how the admins crush it here. Crazycanuck1985 thanks for sharing the stats. I can't help but wonder how more server traffic may/may not effect how well one can swing. I'm sure there was not much traffic during your 20 hours of play. Guess we find out in 10 days!

Howdy folks. Stopping by after watching some videos tonight.
Mostly positive stuff from me. But I do want to bring up 2 things just for feedback.
The short game seems like a miss once again from what I saw. With how many good things they did for difficulty, it looks like the splash shot will be a near auto up and down from anywhere around the greens and the flop shot distance is just strange. I've always said that the easiest way to make the game difficult is to penalize people short siding themselves and firing at every tucked pin. Simple things like no spin out of bad lies and no spin on a green running away from you would do that.
Second thing is minor but why the hell is No. 12 at Sawgrass still 360 yards?!! I don't understand that. That hole was remodeled and has been the hole they've pushed on viewers and players as the second most meaningful on the course for the tournament due to being driveable with the trouble on the left. You'd think that'd be a hole they would want to be right for players but instead it's just a boring short par 4 again this year lol. It hasn't been 357 yards since 2016 I think and the hole is completely redesigned yet they have the old yardage on it.

I mean, hardly any chips or flops ever truly one hop stop and in real life have a lot more influence from green slopes, speed, and rollout than in the game. Glad they made the full swing difficulty harder but the biggest thing to make scoring fall is to make the short game more difficult. We already have rules like putting only on the green unless your line is impeded, and i think we had a no chipping out of bunkers rule before, so i feel like no splash shots outside of bunkers would be a good rule to have for the new game.

quick question, sorry if it has already been talked about. Did any of you who got previews get it on PC, and if so tried it on a mouse to give some input on how the mouse works this time around? Looking at some streams i have started to get that itch back now after giving up on 2019 early. Even though i personally had hoped for "bigger" changes than we got, it seems almost all changes are good ones so im carefully getting hyped. and even if all else fails, the changes to the designer might make it possible to finally complete one of my first projects thanks to the mixed themes, so might be worth a buy for that alone There are a few of the streamers on PC, but none were mousing. Shame, guess we will find out in less than 2 weeks tho. Another case for locking off the haptic feedback for societies is mouse users won't have that magic rumble. I don't think I saw anyone using mouse on the streams unfortunately.

As I said further up input your name as one of the above and make your avatar look like them then you at least have one of them in the game. Great idea I can edit in Patrick Reed then he can miss the cut and not break 100 every week if he's not already in the game 😅

I have mentioned this twice now on the HB forum no reply....Also mentioned the 3rd at the shriners plays as a par 4 for the PGA HB got it as a par 5....And the 9th at Quail hollow again par 5 in game where the PGA play it as a long par 4.The one at the shriners it even has Luke saying its a long par 4 on the hole preview. around 6 mins 30 secs mark

Just stunning to me they'd get the 12th at Sawgrass wrong with how hard the Tour has pushed that hole and how picky they typically are with things like this. Quite frankly it's an awful hole at 350 yards lol

Just to correct you on the 12th at Sawgrass - the hole IS still 358 yards in real life.......off the actual back tee (called The Players tees) - and is therefore a boring hole.
It's just that the Players is always played off the front tee at 296 (off the White tee) to allow them to drive it.
So HB do have it correct in terms of putting the real life course and yardage into the game - but they would indeed have made it a more fun hole by setting it where the tournament is played from
EDIT: Just corrected my post to exact yardages and tee names off the scorecard for the club.

I was there 2 years ago and it was at 300 from the tips. Essentially 3 tee boxes were right at the same spot. Maybe they still keep that on the scorecard to possibly use it from the tips or to show the max yardage but I would imagine most days they set up the back tee box from around that 300-yard spot.

I thought also they had took 353 tee away, its listed as 304 on the players course guide in the end but still 353 on the scorecard,in the end it seems HB has gone with the real scorecards and not how the PGA play the courses if you look at the other 2 errors.(may be more).

I guess I understand that for the par differentials but I'd still prefer the Tour setup for career mode and tournaments for TGCT obviously. But as for 12, the only instance I saw had the tips at 300 on a regular day and I'd think that's the case most days as well.
