View from the 358 tee - you can see how far forward the white (296) is......
EDIT: Damn - just looking at all the pics I took reminds me how much better 2019 was than 2020......

I thought also they had took 353 tee away, its listed as 304 on the players course guide in the end but still 353 on the scorecard,in the end it seems HB has gone with the real scorecards and not how the PGA play the courses if you look at the other 2 errors.(may be more). It may be interesting to see what they have done on East Lake as well. 1st and 14th is played par 4 from the blue tees and not the back tees on the tour championship. 15th round 1 was also played from a forward tee ca 156 yards.

Noticed that as well. Just stunning to me they'd get the 12th at Sawgrass wrong with how hard the Tour has pushed that hole and how picky they typically are with things like this. Quite frankly it's an awful hole at 350 yards lol
Just to correct you on the 12th at Sawgrass - the hole IS still 358 yards in real life.......off the actual back tee (called The Players tees) - and is therefore a boring hole.
It's just that the Players is always played off the front tee at 296 (off the White tee) to allow them to drive it.
So HB do have it correct in terms of putting the real life course and yardage into the game - but they would indeed have made it a more fun hole by setting it where the tournament is played from
EDIT: Just corrected my post to exact yardages and tee names off the scorecard for the club.
It's a shame you can't change tees for different holes. You can for different rounds for 2 to 4 day tournaments now I think.

If that proves correct - then designers can set (say) a tee set with every hole right at the back, then another one with 15-16-17 holes right at the back, and a couple of holes well forward....... don't know whether the designer limitations will then allow another set with different holes pushed forward for another round though?

I hope so, would great to have different tee sets made by designers that are not necessarily all shorter or longer as such but different for each round. R1 to R4 tees not every hole has to be off different tees for each hole, maybe have some hole tees pushed forward or back or left or right as you suggested.

I think i read you can select different Tees for events in 2k21,i am assuming that is the same course not like tgc1 where could select 4 different versions.Again i am thinking you would have to design for tgc tours play 4 tee sets and say have a thur/fri/sat/sun tee set in game.Just for example on a par 5 Thur 564/Fri 520/Sat 564/sun 530 etc Might be wrong on that.So for real course designers you might have to design the real scorecard and maybe a TGC tours version, thats only a guess.
Can't see the point of say playing Blue tees one day which is 7400 yards......then Red's the next round 5400 might have to design the course with 4 tee sets around the 7200-7400 mark.Got to be honest its something badly needed not really played since tgc1 days because 4 rounds round the same set up with only wind/conditions different really boring to me.

Yeah would be cool if designers just created different tee sets for different pin locations rather than for different distances. Seeing as we’re all gonna be playing similar pro distances this year it will be pretty pointless to have red tees playing 5000 yards.
That way we can have a hole like the one at east lake that plays 200+ over water with a back pin and 150ish with a front pin.

Yes i reckon on say a real course for say a TGC tours set up you could also link the pins to the tee.....so maybe 220 yards one day with pin in centre of green, then say on the sunday set 130 to a pin tucked right over a bunker. To be honest as well Would suit fictional courses even better than can be designed with the Tees and distances in mind for tour play. Only problem i see would have to put something like TGC tours/society play in title, because if a random player selects say one tee and a different pin might not play great.

And a designer designing different tee sets to each day doesn't necessarily have to change every tee for each day. You could just have a par 3 playing off a different tee one day or just make a par 5 shorter on the Sunday for example .

Of course only usually par 3s and par 5s it works and usually you make a par 4 a drivable one day out the 4 on one of the holes. Most par 4s would have the same tee all 4 rounds.Again i think unless someone has had a sneak preview of online nobody knows nothing about it yet.Just a bit of speculation on what was said about you can choose different tees when setting up an event. If that is the case and its only tees that you can set up,might need a Common Colour for a Certain day for an event etc.. Red-thur Blue-Fri Gold-sat Black-Sun etc.

Problem in TGC2019 for this is the way tees are planted. The tee furthest from the hole is always the back tee and you can’t mix this from hole to hole. So if black is back tees - always the furthest from the hole is black. Without testing it, I assume that is the same, so it may be difficult to mix this as we want.

Genuinely can't wait for the release of this. I'm not a great player by any stretch of the imagination but making it more difficult will be welcomed by me - reaching a point where I'm -15 after 2 rounds and still 12 shots off the lead is demoralising at times

Yes that would screw up the tee customisation. Hopefully it can be changed in the new game.

This was a good video, for me anyways. Thanks for that. I like the new challenge and I do hope the highest tours require Master or Legendary swings. That's really the way golf should be, hard to get under par. I'll probably stick to Pro.
