Also how far you swing back the club effects your distance like normal but we now have an overswing area up to 105%, going over 105% will drop your distance to 94%. Overswing makes tempo and swing plane on the downswing a bit more difficult I assume. You can actually turn overswing off. So overswing is useless and only penalizing ? Tbh from watching the streams it it didn't look like it penalised too much. Personally I would have preferred more of a 110% or maybe 115% overswing distance.

Why would you want to turn over swing off it’s something that was asked for by the community, they give it to us then you ask if it can be turned off. Over-swing is not useless it gives you more distance providing your tempo is correct but the penalty for using it and not hitting the tempo is severe. Personally I would have it on as it brings in that risk v reward, also it makes 100% shots harder to pull off all the time so brings in distance variance. Great addition to the game. Some people might not like it but you can lock it on for society play which is great

As I said further up input your name as one of the above and make your avatar look like them then you at least have one of them in the game.

The idea is that they are on the leaderboard. I just watched the Jim Gem video of him playing the The Players at TPC Sawgrass...prior to his round, he went thru the list of pros in the game. As he scrolled thru the list, there was no button prompt to edit any player names or anything like that.

A question for the streamers. Have you noticed any changes in the ball physics on side-hill and up/down-hill lies? I have never been especially happy about how these are done in 2019, especially the side-hill. They do not seem consistent to me, even with the lie grids helping you to figure out how much to compensate. Also with side-hill the ball comes off the slope at an angle, but then as it flies it should look like it is hooking or slicing (depending on above/below your feet) as gravity takes over - it doesn't really do that very well in the game, especially when the ball is below your feet.

quick question, sorry if it has already been talked about. Did any of you who got previews get it on PC, and if so tried it on a mouse to give some input on how the mouse works this time around? Looking at some streams i have started to get that itch back now after giving up on 2019 early. Even though i personally had hoped for "bigger" changes than we got, it seems almost all changes are good ones so im carefully getting hyped. and even if all else fails, the changes to the designer might make it possible to finally complete one of my first projects thanks to the mixed themes, so might be worth a buy for that alone

It would be interresting to see a golf game that tried to represent the intricacies of the short game in a more realistic way. It’s really the only component of this series that is not executed to a high standard already. Unless they broke putting in 2k21 - looks a bit worrying. The short game is the most complex part of golf but means so much for any simulation of the game as it ties into how afraid the player should be about different misses. With the magic get out of jail card there is no reason to even think about not going for the pin... If it was up to you, how would you do that in this game? Good question. First off I think that the current simplified set up needs to stay as well for the easier difficulties and “arcade” play. But - Id probably only have two “shot types”. Chip, and one general “free” short game shot. Maybe a bunker shot type as well. The chip mechanics would be very similar to what it is now, but would be restricted a lot to certain lies. No chipping from bunkers or deep lies in the rough and very difficult to pull one off from the heavy stuff in any case. For the free shot type I think that angle of attack and loft should be the two parameters that the player can modify. Then it would be very lie dependent to create something like a “game in the game” figuring out the ideal shot set up. Should be useable up to 50-60yds. The rough lies need to be intricate as they are IRL. Ball sitting up in deep rough - don’t try to hit a steep AoA high loft shot as it could cut underneath the ball. And similarly don’t even think about some shallow AoA madness for a buried lie. I would add grass direction into the lie system. It’s a huge factor IRL. I would also allow for designers to pick grass-type and cut height for their courses with appropriate effects. Cut heights should also be available for tournament set up to allow for some real stern old fashioned US Open tests. And why not let the designers pick sand for the bunkers as well. Fast and slow tempo would be tied to impact point, with fast being the club bottoming out in front of the ball and slow being the opposite - so hitting a somewhat fast tempo with a shallow AoA and some added loft from a good lie should barely have any effect, but the same against the grain in the heavy rough would result in the ball not even going half the distance. That way making the right shot selection would give some room for error but it would be situational. It should be very hard to get spin from the heavy rough - only way to get the ball to stop is to go high and that is only going to work well from medium to good lies. But short-siding on a downslope with the green also sloping away should be the nightmare it is IRL. Thats some short thoughts... I do think it deserves as much effort as a “game in the game” as putting.

Gonna copy and paste a comment I made in another thread regarding the fear if 2K21 ever goes the micro transaction route for virtual coin and xp (since 2K is now onboard):
The EASIEST way to earn xp/coin is quite simple!! It would NEVER require micro transactions!!:
1)Create and publish your very own 18 hole putt putt course with each pin being 2F from the tee box. 2)Choose Legend difficulty and max out the options for even more XP. 3)Play your course and easily finish 18 holes in under 5 minutes, or over 700xp. 4)Play your course 12x in an hour to earn 8,400xp.
***I own the game on PS4 so I'll have do put in a little bit of old fashioned work, but........***
5)IF you own the game on PC, create a Macro via keyboard, mouse, or AutoHotkey. 6)Start your Macro when you go to work and in 8 hours earn 67,200xp. 7)After work continue the Macro while you shower, eat, kiss wifey, play with the kids, and earn 67,200xp. 8)Start your Macro again when you go to sleep and earn another 67,200xp while you sleep. 9)At the end of 24 hours you have gained over 200,000Xp.
I've done this in the past with other games with GREAT success. There's never a need to cave into micro transactions, or anything similar to them.

Shame, guess we will find out in less than 2 weeks tho.

Just what we need, more and more junk courses to sift through...... Have they fixed searching courses to play? You always get kicked back to the beginning page when you select a course.
