Nice data Crazycanuck1985. I love a good data crunch. But like you said, not enough data to get any proper results. I’m glad it’s harder to hit tempo and swing planes. I hope it’s not hit or bust though. It should be harder to hit but also more forgiving when you do. No boomerang misses if you just miss, only slight misses. This seemed sort of the case from the videos I saw, do you concur? It's definitely not hit or bust. I hit a few slightly slow/fast that were pretty much right at the target. I also had some very slows that boomeranged quite a bit which I expected. My average misses were probably 10-20 yards off target. Usually put me in the rough, but in play. I was getting to the point of playing my slows so I would get a little fade (that lost distance) that was down the middle as I aimed left.

Very interesting Crazycanuck1985. It would appear that swing calibration doesn't make a great deal of difference? I realize it is still early days, too early to say definitely how much good it does, but at this moment it has not helped you get consistent good tempo. I watched jimgem putting well without the meter, not sure if he also had rumble off but I think he did. It does make a difference for sure, but on these higher difficulties the window to hit a perfect is so so small. There will be TONS of complaints from people who hit perfects in TGC2019 all the time that the swing tempo is random. I felt it too at times, but all it was is me overcorrecting and my slows easily turning into fasts. I've got my popcorn ready.

I'm really enjoying all the analysis. Who received the game before, will be good steps in front of those who will receive on August 20. But we'll have an idea of how to run our games. I really want to test the swing. I remember I abandoned TGC 2019 on PC because it was impossible to swing with mouse. When you took the PS4, everything changed. Easy. Now, new change in the balance sheet. I see difficulty on the PC. Ps4 will be like this? I dont know...

Crazycanuck1985, thanks for all that info and thank you for your videos. I can't wait to get my hands on this game and do the same, fiddle around with all the difficulties. It's going to be interesting what TGC does for tournament play settings and how variable they will be for different tour classes.
has it been confirmed that tournament play with be full 18 hole rounds? I read somewhere some confusion about 9 holes but that doesn't make much sense.

Who received the game before, will be good steps in front of those who will receive on August 20. Wouldn't worry - they literally had it for about three days to record promo material and stream on the 6th.

My summary after many hours of playing on the Legend setting with the meter off is that the game is much harder, but doesn’t feel random anymore. I had a good time even though my scores sucked, because I wasn’t getting a very fast or very slow for no particular reason.
Also, if there is anything we’ll need popcorn for it’ll be the misconception about swing calibration. There will be myriad people that claim it didn’t help because they can’t hit perfect all the time.
Calibration is not a “difficulty setting.” In other words, it exists to make the game more fair by minimizing controller differences, not to make the swing easier to perform.
I felt like this game was harder, but so much more fun!

We don't need to use the rumble do we?
I'm on a self imposed ban from rumble in any game. It fried one of my controllers. Playing Destiny 2, (Escalation Protocol, which is a hoard pve mode) I had a lot of stuff going on the screen, lots of enemies shooting, explosions, me shooting. My controller began to feel weird, then I noticed the rumble was gone and replaced with a vibration noise. Never stopped.
I've since turned off rumble and prefer not to use it. Hope it's not required in this game. Only ask because I saw mention of rumble in one of the two threads here.

From my understanding, you can turn rumble off, but it is only an individual setting...meaning you have to turn it off or on for yourself, and it cannot be turned on/off at a society level.

Game looks better than I anticipated. Really awesome streaming by everyone I was able to watch! Really looking forward to the 21st, hopefully they clean up some of the issues that were uncovered during the streams. Also nice to see some HB representation (HB Craig), too bad shauna couldn't stop by for a bit.
Things I liked in the streams: - GLOBAL objects finally! Is HB Paul still there to see the day it finally happened? - graphics look much better, especially that horrid looking boreal bunker lip from 19 - I like the new green grid look & behavior, hopefully this eliminates the 9 box grid nonsense. New grids have a Links feel from back in the day.
- options & settings are very deep (as with all 2k game in my experience)
- looks like a much more polished game, surely the 2k influence? - Mulch & pinestraw look really good - The ability to set an attack angle on the club face looked interesting
Things I'd like to see cleaned up: - The backswing pause thing is rather odd design choice, can see that being abused very quickly
- The short game looks easy once again especially with edition of the splash shot - No addition of graduated rough - Did not add pot bunkers - Hybrids still appear to be garbage
- fences & walls still can't be angled to follow the slope of the terrain - water still can't be tilted - no new backgrounds (still no plot with water on 3 sides?), where is a more subtle/flat background?
- the power bar thing with the target indicator is really dumb, need the option to turn off the "target"
- still limited to 1 waypoint - still only 4 pin sets to work with - no Magnolia trees - I didn't see any flowering trees, but I could have missed this
- no new clubhouses or townhouses - assets used on "official" courses are still locked down from being used in the designer
- can't set predominant wind direction for a course - with all the equipment additions why can't be have some various balls to select from? - still waiting for a heat-map style green book option - no dynamic weather or lighting?!?!? - No ability to "choke down" on the club for distance control - Still see divot marks all over tee boxes
- no sprinkler heads or other similar ground objects - drop rules are still trash, no ability to set a defined drop zone

Thanks to all for the previews.
You have been reporting bugs to HB so do they plan on fixing some of those before the 21st release?

Things I'd like to see cleaned up: - Did not add pot bunkers +1
- fences & walls still can't be angled to follow the slope of the terrain +1
- water still can't be tilted +1
- no new backgrounds (still no plot with water on 3 sides?), where is a more subtle/flat background? +1
- still only 4 pin sets to work with +1
- no new clubhouses or townhouses +1 - can't set predominant wind direction for a course +1
- no dynamic weather or lighting?!?!? +1 - no sprinkler heads or other similar ground objects (I think I've seen ground distance markers) - drop rules are still trash, no ability to set a defined drop zone +1 Now I do not want to ask too much as there has been a tremendous effort, but those ones up there would send me to paradise...
