Just watched Victor Hovland hit a 2i into a green so...someone's making them.
I hear the 2w statement...fine....but they also took out 5w and 7w? I've definitely seen those for sale.
They just should have fixed hybrids out of the rough and I wouldn't have a problem at all.

Looks like I basically posted what Yaters did, obviously great minds think alike.

Wouldn't there be more strategy involved if there was a 2 wood as then you'd have the option of going for it or laying up. If you're spraying your 2w approach on a par 5 into trouble will you be guaranteed of a birdie now? Is a 100 yard wedge shot going to be an automatic birdie like it is at the moment. Be a shame if designers create risk/reward holes if everyone is just going to lay up. I think when Ian dominated TGC1 he always laid up as he knew he would always get a birdie. And what about my original point? 2 woods literally don't exist anymore. If you can show me a legitimate golf company that is legitimately selling 2 woods then I will withdraw my point, but we want a realistic game with clubs that don't exist? Doesn't seem to make sense. Like I said, the 3 wood definitely needs to be longer. Having had my hands on it, a wedge shot from 100 yards is definitely not an automatic Birdie, especially on the higher difficulties. I don't want to be a stick in the mud on anything, but I use a 13.5 degree fairway tuned down to 12.75 degrees, which is technically a 2w when a 15 degree is a standard 3w loft. I think it would probably be better for them to describe the woods in loft degrees, rather than numbers, but I think most average players (non-tech golf people) will probably understand the 2w,3w,5w naming convention better.

You actually don't buy a 3 wood either. But in all the 25 years I have played golf, I have never seen a 2 wood or 4 wood. You buy a fairway wood - and choose loft. Different fairway woods comes in different loft; 13-18 degrees are most common. It is not that long ago that we had 3 wood, 5 wood (no 4 wood) with different degrees of loft - but when I look these days you have no number, only different loft options on the woods. So even Stensons Diablo Octane 13 degrees was branded as a 3 wood, not 2 wood. Same goes for hybrids and wedges these days. You choose loft, and the numbers are gone (no more 1 or 2 hybrid). Did you test all the different clubs? It looked like you had quite huge differences in distance on the different clubs. This is unfortunately very unrealistic - you don't have 20 yards difference in distance from driver to driver in real life. All drivers these days are good and in the hands of a player with high swing speed you get pretty much the same distances on all brands. So the Taylormade 3 wood I bought last year that has a 3 on it, isn't actually a 3 wood? News to me. Listen, I get what you are saying about fairway wood lofts, but I think they went with the classic "naming" of clubs to keep things easier for the more casual player, it would also be significantly more work to code fairway woods of every loft. You are correct. I had a look at the new Taylormade Sim fairway woods, and indeed they come in numbers. Same with Ping G410 woods - 3, 5, 7, 9 avaiable. I am just used to brands that have dropped the numbers - so I was indeed mistaken there.

So once the new generation consoles come out, will we have to buy those to stay on the TGCTours or is it going to work new and older generation gaming systems?

I thought it was just 6w and 7w that were removed... if 5w is gone too, that’s very disappointing considering how common those seem to be among people I play with IRL (including myself) At the end of the day, the clubs available aren’t going to be a dealbreaker for anyone (I hope lol). By the time we’re all playing the game, I doubt it’ll matter that much. It’s disappointing if they’re gone, but it’s really not that huge of a deal, at least in my eyes.

Les - I was just putting the courses in the folder on my PC, so no publish was required. That seemed to work just fine.

No 5 wood, what were they thinking. Most of us have a 5 wood in the bag irl, well I do.

I really like a lot of what I am seeing with this new game. Much more so than TGC 19. TGCT came to be a sh%$ show (IMHO) with TGC 19 because it was all about who’s cheating this week even when by the strict rules they weren’t. Glad to see that they seem to have solved the short swing problem. I really don’t think the 96% shot thing is going to be an issue. But I’m sure other things will pop up. I haven’t played in the weekly TGCT tournaments for about six months now. Doubting I will play at them with this new game at first either until The dust settles. Meaning once the exploits are uncovered and hopefully dealt with so all the accusations die down.
But I will definitely be looking for some good societies to play in. I would love to have a good society that mandates legends clubs and another one that does masters. I just hope that they will allow societies to specify a specific club set and the game won’t let you use anything else in that society.

Just watched Andre's no green grid round and a very enjoyable watch, great stuff mate. The more I see the power bar in action the more I dislike it, legendary difficulty but those splash shots seem very easy to get up and down when the game shows you how hard to hit your shot. Same goes for putting, totally takes the skill out of long lag putts, can't see myself using it for sim rounds. Well any round I mean as I only play one way. Crazycanuck1985 s there a way to have the power meter without pin distance, for those who struggle to judge distance from the avatar's swing?

The power meter makes a complete none sense of legendary difficulty.Turn the meter off and give us elevation info and we could have a very good sim mode.
