These are all looking very cool! I am a little surprised for some reason to see so many layouts with the crisscrossing lines of play but I like it all the same. I guess I was envisioning a smaller scale routing with only a few full shot holes and mostly par 3's. Similar to the Cradle, Sandbox, or Preserve. I really think this type of challenge brings out so much creativity and throws a lot of the "rules" out the window which I very much like! Pumped to follow this and put something together myself. Can’t speak for everyone, but I’m playing off the “backyard” idea and working under the assumption that there would never be more than one or two groups on the course at a time, so no worries about cross-crossing holes as there’s no one to hit into. Oh yeah, I totally get that! That is the beauty of this concept, you can literally do anything you want! I guess I really only meant that I was anticipating seeing something more closely related to the short courses that have popped up at different resorts around the country. I really do love the idea of the interconnecting and crossing over as it creates the options for multiple holes and lines of play. I have aslo really enjoyed trying to figure out the routings in the different pictures that have been posted.

Go for it! I'd love to see what you come up with! Thanks, I definitely will! I think this is such a cool idea. I think we've all had a vision for our own backyard or private golf course at one point in our lives. I also think it's cool to get away from the usual design plan with 18 holes and loops of 9 and all that. I have a concept laid out as of last night and I'm just letting it breathe and tweaking some of the ideas at this point before really getting into it.

Can't wait to play these. I've started about 4 different plots, and think I've finally settled on a desert ranch theme. Definitely will be going for more of a practice course chip and pitch feel with a couple of short par 4's. Routings and pin placements are definitely going to be interesting.

Well, your Chatuge Trails Park proved that you have great creativity, so I'm sure it'll be really fun.

Mine should be done by the end of the weekend or sometime next week. Fairways and greens are done with most bunkers mapped. Will be a full 18 hole par 72 course.

I feel I'm watching the DAM Society schedule being created before my very eyes.

I feel I'm watching the DAM Society schedule being created before my very eyes. We have season 3's schedule nearly figured out, but there's no doubt that season 4 will pull as many from this design event as possible where they fit the theme.

Typically that has been the goal, but I doubt we would overlook a spectacular 16 hole course or 12 hole course if we really wanted to use it, we might just make the event 3 rounds instead of 2 so that it felt long enough. TWSS

All surfacing done. Not sure how much planting I’ll do. Sculpting left.
