What I've got so far. My brain is struggling on where to start and where everything goes but hopefully I can have some fun with it.

That's awesome! Your measurement marks look a lot like mine. My course is all surfaced on flat, and now the fun begins of sculpting it all out and decorating it. Mine is done in Countryside, and it will be the literal backyard of some rancher.
Do we need to multi-pin these?

With all the criss-crossing waypoints it's going to be such a pain. It's up to you.

I agree, i have shared greens but no way im doing pinsets for 10 drivable par 4's - i can make them challenging enough without multiple sticks.

I can share a couple of pics. Obviously surfaces are a mess and sculpting's pretty rough, but I'm going with sixteen holes sharing six greens, with a reversible routing around the perimeter. (sorry these pics are garbage. I didn't set things up as I normally do.)

These are all looking very cool! I am a little surprised for some reason to see so many layouts with the crisscrossing lines of play but I like it all the same. I guess I was envisioning a smaller scale routing with only a few full shot holes and mostly par 3's. Similar to the Cradle, Sandbox, or Preserve. I really think this type of challenge brings out so much creativity and throws a lot of the "rules" out the window which I very much like! Pumped to follow this and put something together myself.

Can’t speak for everyone, but I’m playing off the “backyard” idea and working under the assumption that there would never be more than one or two groups on the course at a time, so no worries about cross-crossing holes as there’s no one to hit into.

Me too... my concept is a rich, retired rancher and the course is ALL his own making, for his own pleasure with friends. Like, maybe, 9 of his best DAM friends!

yeah, crossing over is just gonna be a thing. This isn't a for profit enterprise.

Thought this would be cool to post but this was a couple years ago. Here is one of the three green complexes we made around our house for foam golf play. We had 4 fully arranged 18 hole golf courses that were rotated every two days. We had scorecards and even 4 different sets of colored flags made of dowels and cloth, we had holes actually cut, fairways and greens mowed, and We hosted 3 "majors" each year with a purse of 50$ for each major and the 60$ for the "U.S. Open" Which parents and people that lived on our street actually watched. We actually had a gallery of at least 30 and about 20 players per tournament in our yard and our neighbors. My neighbor helped me with organizing all the tournaments and it was quite fun. We would introduce the players on the tee, have a huge leader board, interviews, a instagram and twitter account, we streamed all the rounds, WE SOLD TICKETS ONCE. Having real 4 round tournaments like that is really crazy but really enjoyable. So I love myself a good backyard golf course. Maybe I will create it in game?
