I'll be the 1st to blink and show my hand.
R1: -8 with a 3 putt on 13 and 2 chips that missed by a cup width R2: -5, went for the green in 2 on 13. Figured I'd land pin high and end up 30 feet by the hole......Nope, friggin 95% swing and into the creek. Bogey there. The had putts under 10 feet on 16 and 17 that showed right to left, went dead straight.....I hate 144 greens. R3: -8, played speed golf as I knew I'd chucked it away in that 2nd round. Missed 4 fairly easy putts too, two of which came up short when I'm usually 4 feet by the cup. Had an eagle at 8 and 13 though.
Will probably finish up after work tonight and try to get to -30.....that might be good for a top 10 seeing as some of the other scores in R1 were the same as my R2, unless they're double digits under par. Other than those few missed putts all my other misses seem to be left of the hole, I think I missed a 5 footer on 10 in R3 after a good approach.
Who's next for some therapy?

Haven't played this course in 4 years, back when it had a more floral name. That also happened to be the 2nd event I played after joining TGCT and I was in CC-Z at the time. Needless to say it did not go well, left me forever scared to ever play the course again, and made me glad that I'd been in Web every year after that so I never needed to play it again. I know TGC 2019 is a much different game than the original one even with beginner clubs, so a direct comparison isn't really accurate but I'm going to do it anyway. My only goal for this week is to beat my score from 4 years ago so I can say I've improved since then.
Score to beat:+47
Seeing that I'm currently tied for first at -8 and I doubt another request to end this after 18 holes will be honoured I'll just say this was a good start to achieving my goal. I can bogey every single hole the rest of the way and still finish a stroke better than last time. In other news, I really, really sucked really, really bad when I first started here.

Round 2 in the books. Round 1 I started slow and finished strong while round 2 I started fast and finished slow. Missed a hole in one on 12 by just a whisker as I caught the edge of the cup but curved wide instead of in. Fortunately I'll still take a tap-in birdie any day. Don't think I've ever debated a shot as long as I did my approach shot on 18. Between clubs so I basically had to choose between coming up short and rolling back off the green, or clubbing up and trying to get 95% power and if not be faced with the nasty downhill putt. I played for par, went short ending up in the bunker but had a nice flop shot with a back stop so it became an easy par. I also made a 29 foot birdie putt somewhere so that was helpful.
Continued setting myself up well to beat that +47 as I ended this round with a -9. I'm appreciating the non-existent winds thus far.

Could only manage -5 in R4, average at best approach shots which were either 1 club too many or 1 too short. Must have missed 8 or so greens. If we’re being nostalgic, my -26 is the exact same score I shot in season 1s event

I know this is a blasphemous opinion, but I don't enjoy this course on this version of the game. Most get very excited to play the Masters event and having the qualifying tournament here makes sense (though BCT players can't qualify). It's an iconic course and very well done by the designer. The visuals are stunning and as close to the real thing in any game I've played. I just feel like it amplifies all the things that aren't quite right in this version of TGC - inconsistent play from side hill lies or how 144 greens behave with severe slopes.
Not making excuses. I saw the course come up when I loaded the society and immediately wasn't into it. Got off to a poor start and stopped caring. So I played really poorly, not because of game flaws or the course - just wanted to rush through.
I would guess I had 15-20 two inch tap ins over the 4 rounds. Just couldn't putt.
-5, -9, -9, -7 for a -30

Rs 1 - I started nicely, I wasn't greedy and made several great putts. Highlight was a tap in eagle on #15. It was ridiculously close to another albatross.

They always seem so bland and boring to play when compared to even a decent original creation.

That wasn't a pleasant round. Far too many approach shots that fell into club gaps which meant mistake chances became almost as common as scoring chances. Was sitting in decent shape at -4 after 8, then went +3 over the next two holes and then spent the rest of the round scraping back those lost shots to finish in no longer decent shape at -4. At least I had 3 or 4 putts from 45-50 ft away that were 2 ft uphill, so I got enough experience getting them close that I shouldn't fear leaving those kind of shots in round 4.

After being -8 after 10h in Rd 2, I lost my way a little. No bogeys through 36h.

Another solid Rd 3, slowish on the front 9, much better on the back. Highlights were a massive putt on #13 for eagle, a chip in eagle on #15 from a potentially dangerous location, and bendy putt on #16.
