You are an evil person Ben, pure evil....
Eric sent us a text saying to play pin 4 and how difficult it was and I thought PFFFT ill rip it a new one....
well I was wrong... These greensites may be some of the most fun yet most make you want to punch a puppy than I have played in a long long time...Reminded me of TGC 1 and Taste's Black Widow course...
Evil, pure evil genius stuff on these greens... I had it to -5 on the back nine but had a double bogie and a bogie and ended up -3 but I fought and clawed my way around this course, scared to death on every single putt
Stunning stunning course, I mean top notch work here... planting, sculpting absolutely stood out...
Oh yeah one of those par 5's on the back I cussed you, because I hit my second and had a 203 foot putt.. That green was a tad big.. LOL Absolute great work here sir, loved every second playing this golf course....
Best of luck Ben, man you have come such a long way in such a short time in this designer... This one had major D punch written all over it and its gonna make some people cuss and cry ha ha ha
Great work bud
Terry

Really good job here. Shot a bogey free -4 on the front. Thennnnn 4 over on the back. I had a blast playing this though. Loved some of the slopes you could hit into and roll back or some of the “funnels” to land your shots and have it roll to the pin. Top notch work as usual and good luck.

this is a fun course to play and I'm sure I'll be back. I found a few of the holes to kind of run together a bit and like terry said the greens may be a bit large, but it's a lovely course and one I will be playing many times as I felt right on the edge of a good round the entire time (played pin 4...cause why not?). Great work bubba!

Started with 5 straight birdies, as started thinking I'm king of Ben's course, and then a 4-putt double-bogey nut punch. Sputtered around to a -6 finish. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thanks all for the kind comments. Figured I had to go full out polarising in this contest, so let’s see how she does. There’ll definitely be people who absolutely hate this one, and that’s cool 🙂

You are a sick sick man. Those greens are devilishly fun. Basically the product of mixing Heaven and Hell together. Kicked my butt all up and down the valley but still so much fun and those views are second to none. Fantastic entry and good luck sir

Oh, and a quick link to the video of the real life inspiration for this course - helps to understand the greens a little more. Backstory is that they originally designed the greens slightly larger than normal with runoffs around them, but for some reason, the green grass overtook the fairway grass and they grew so that the runoffs became part of the greens. One day, Hanse and team went out to find that the greenkeepers had pinned a runoff swale as if it were green. They absolutely loved it and let the greens grow further - it's a great leveller as it allows for higher handicappers to find the greens more regularly, whilst making it tough on the better player to hit the right spots. When designing this, I followed the same principle - made greens with runoffs as I usually would, then extended the green and pinned some of the runoffs. Tour version likely coming later today with four different pinsets and slightly slower green speeds.

Wonderful design work on this one don't think you will see much better from anybody, just found around the greens too tough for my game with a bit of chipping and flopping got myself round in 3 under at the 3rd attempt.Stunning course and those who enjoy a challenge will love this, but i remember the US open Competition in TGC1 and it drove me mad playing them,so i am giving the rest a miss in this competition, played 3 so far and they have all been stunning but around the greens i just get frustrated because my game is just not good enough. It should do well in the competition all down to what the judges are looking for.

Crikey Ben! What a course. You've excelled in this design. Stunningly beautiful and such a fun challenge. Loved the battle. Already looking forward to playing it again. Hats off to you.
