I've looked at all the various versions of 'St. George's G&CC' on TGC 2019 and can't find one that is actually a RCR of this excellent course near Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (in Etobicoke.) There's one called lidar but it's not the right course. As far as I can tell - there is no elevation LIDAR for the Greater Toronto area - just landscape types. But I'll still fish around the data. In the meantime I'm going to get started on this new project - it will be humbling! Only my second course will be one of the top three in Canada by the legendary Stanley Thompson. Wish me luck and I hope it does the course justice and is out on time for the Canadian Open (that might not happen with COVID-19). If someone else is already working on it please save me all the work - maybe mthunt? Here's a pic of the real thing! Wish me luck.

I'm an RCR and LiDAR nut! (My main society plays ONLY real courses.) So I will follow this one 👍

You are right, the RCR we have with that name is a recreation of a golf course in NY state. I sincerely hope the best for your project, this course would be a great addiction to the game. Good luck!

Well 2 holes into the OSM for this course. Labelling trees this time since their placement is so key to the look of the course.
Anyone else having a problem with Chads TGC Tools? Seems some kind of Prj2EPSG.org timing out issue?

After many days the OSM is finally done. So all the features are placed exactly with care. Bunkers are very detailed - very Stanley Thompson. I decided to place each tree, since their placement is key and adds to the visual experience. I didn't know what I was getting into as I placed nearly 3000 trees with OSM!!! I was hoping the OSM/Chads Tool would determine the difference in conifers and deciduous - but no luck. Sadly that was the easy part. Now the detailed manipulation of the trees and some very detailed shaping to bring it all alive. Not to mention the subdivisions of houses around the course. Hoping for an late spring release - maybe on time for when the Canadian Open is supposed to happen in mid-June (although I will be shocked if it happens with COVID) The clubhouse is placed and so is the cart barn - on to the detailed work.....wish me luck.

Looks awesome I’m excited for this! Great idea to pick this course as well, always a great venue for the Canadian Open.

So glad to see someone making this course. The NY one is great too (Devereux Emmet) but it's very, very different from Thompson's courses.
