sooooo... likely not an issue...but I've felt beat all day, my chest is a bit tight and my temp has started going up just a little... Sigh. I'll let you know if it keeps going up. smh. Are you working still? no. haven't for a week. Fever leveled off. I think I'm fine. It stupid because allergies are hitting me HARD so I'm kind of constantly going "Is this allergies? Wait...is that covid? What?" Anyone else?

Thats one big thing about it, right now, this time of year allergies are really bad for a lot of us, and its very easy to wonder.

The NYC mayor has said that he expects half the city's population to contract coronavirus at some point. Just waiting to figure out which half I belong to.

Seems that my employers realized that almost everyone in my department could now make more money sitting at home than by going into work so they decided it was time to start throwing us some bones. Instead of the always popular more cash option they chose to just dig into their stash in the warehouse and give everyone a 12 pack of Charmin toilet paper. Can't tell if this was intended as a serious thank you gift or just a tongue-in-cheek gag gift. Still upset about being called an essential worker when I'm not and being made to work when I think I'd be doing more for society by isolating at home but I really do enjoy being completely cut off from what's going on out in the real world for 8 hours. Having no TV or internet access for just a few hours a day is almost relaxing.

NYT Health @nythealth: The U.S. now has more coronavirus cases than any other nation in the world, according to data gathered by @nytimes
Imagine how bad this would be if some places didn't begin shutting down 1-2 weeks ago.
Stay safe peeps, please follow the medical guidelines.

Having no TV or internet access for just a few hours a day is almost relaxing. I spent the last 15 years of my working career as a work at home employee for several companies. A lot of the streamers here probably remember me stopping by their broadcasts with my infamous line, "Hello from the work pod. At work so you are muted but i can still watch". I used to ask seamount4life to wave at the camera lol. Loved working from home. I had a complete home office set up in our second bedroom that was so different than the rest of our home that it always felt like I went somewhere else when i went to work. Saved so much wear and tear on our vehicle, used less fuel, didn't need as much work clothing and of course, lunches. Having my full kitchen at my disposal was awesome. No hassle traffic drive to and from work because I just walked down the hall. Also not having to deal with "office drama" of other people was a huge plus.

My employer is going to take our temperature at the start and end of our shift starting on Saturday. 100.4 F and above you automatically go home.

It's no longer the "China virus" now that Trump has spoken with the big lad 😁.

It's no longer the "China virus" now that Trump has spoken with the big lad 😁. The following is for educational purposes only (leaving leadership out of it): I prefer covid19. I think that is actually what it is by name. "Coronavirus" is a category I think. At least that's how I understand it. I think covid19 is also a SARS. I'm not very medically educated though outside of my own afflictions. Merriam-Webster has this: Definition of coronavirus
1: any of a family (Coronaviridae) of single-stranded RNA viruses that have a lipid envelope studded with club-shaped projections, infect birds and many mammals including humans, and include the causative agents of MERS, SARS, and COVID-19 2: an illness caused by a coronavirus www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/coronavirus

Him and his party have, for the last decade, underfunded and privatised our NHS, on top of that they voted in parliament to NOT give NHS workers a pay rise and cheered when that vote was won. I'm only repeating what hundreds of NHS nurses, doctors and specialists are tweeting right now in anger at tory MP's and voters who give their empty applause. I stand with those NHS workers.

Mine tested their setup for it yesterday without doing the temperature checks. Someone got sent home because he coughed a couple times while in line. They're supposed to check temps this morning. Yesterday the line to go through the non-functioning setup was outside through the parking lot so we'll see how long it gets when they're actually doing everything. I may make it into work just in time to go home.

We live in a country/world where empty gestures and words trump actual deeds/actions.
It's "patriotic" to clap
It's "playing politics" to point out that clapping achieves nothing and the frontline staff would probably prefer to have the equipment they need.
In 10 years time are we going to look back at this and say "Yeah, thousands of people died when they shouldn't have, inc hundreds of NHS staff but at least we gave them a good ol clap"
It's infuriating and would be funny if it weren't so serious
