Welcome to all the new/old faces joining us this week on the BCT!
Pretty tough setup this week. Wind wasn’t huge but certainly challenging in most rounds. A couple of really difficult approach shots. Green speeds varied from 144 to 178.
R1 - I putted fairly well with some key saves, but ran in to a string of pars mid round. -11 R2 - Hit a nice string on the back 9 and had a chip-in par save. -12 R3 - By far the easiest of the setups with low wind. I’m still not much of a putter on 144 greens so I missed quite a few opportunities. -11 R4 - Some really tough pins with huge slopes in front. I chose to go long on those most of the time but couldn’t make the long putts or chips. Disappointing round for sure. -8
-42 finish which I think will be lapped by the better players here.
Good luck to everyone. If you figure out how to play #18 successfully let me know.
I’m rooting for Tim and Thomas to shoot -41s

Played round 1 and this was certainly a course that didn't give you anything for free. If you want to score well you have to earn it this time.

I doubt I'll contend. I am that out of practice, hah. The approach math didnt change so that shouod be fine, but if I have a make a putt I'm in trouble

My round 1 went as expected. Gotta say -11 is strong because If I had made what I would consider should-make putts, thats all I would have scored. But, I didnt make what I should have and so I'm already 2 strokes off the pace.
Hoping to find some form in time to take the strokes back in the last
Round 2 -11 with a dumb bogey. Seeing some signs of improvement, and at least kept the pace with rounds posted so far. A lot of 2 wood mandatory holes in this round
Solid 3rd at -12 to close in on the clubhouse leader a bit.

Not to be this week yaters, Played pretty well for my 1st event but like every week left some out there. Round 3 is where you can really score with the lower winds. Maybe next week...

I again attempted to play this week and got through the first round at -11 with my putter working well. I started the 2nd round ok and I was -4 heading into the short par 4 9th. I hit a fast downswing for my 2nd shot and fly the green and can't get up and down. I then lose my mind and max the hole. From -4 to +3, just like that. Not going to finish, yet again. I am a bag of nerves when I do anything competitively and there is probably more nerves here than anything else in my life and that is sad. My driving test was less stressful. I will never be able to compete again, although I will most likely still have thoughts in my head about playing. I just hope they disappear so I don't end up breaking everything in sight. Also uninstall number 'I have no bloody idea'. Anyway, good luck to everyone else this week! Bag of nerves? Apparently you don't see the 2 PGA trophy cards at the bottom of each of your posts Dan!

So are we officially back to being a spoiler thread with full posting of scores whenever you want? I personally prefer it that way but was respecting the no spoilers thing we were going with.
Spoiler:I will not spoil anyone else’s chance of finishing in the top 10.

I suppose when John (who normally starts these and jinxes his competitors ) can just put "Spoilers" in the initial subject post

NKOTBCT here. Figured I'd give the BCT a go as I can't hit a cows arse with a banjo using master clubs. Started off like I was using those damn "master beta" clubs on the 1st, short sided myself and decided to knock the 6 yard chip down the slope and off the green 26 yards away. BCT career starts off with a bogey Birdied the par 5 2nd and missed an 8 footer at the 4th, was E thru 5 holes. Then went nuts, played the next 10 holes in -11 with a 4 foot eagle at 8 thrown in for good measure. Almost holed my chip on 18 but will make do with -12 after a birdie at 17. Figure I'll just do a round a day. Have to agree with Yaters, beginner clubs are alot like TGC1 clubs which I was fairly competitive with in Season 1 with a win and a couple of runner ups. Like this course alot where you can use slopes to get it close rather than having to aim at the pin. Hopefully I can be as good as Mark and get a good UK vs US rivalry going.....even if we both live in the States now #Brexit Probably follow this up with a -5 now, or Momo will shoot -60 anyway.

Good first tournaments Tim and Thomas. Took me several weeks to get used to this club set and this was not the easiest setup with distances.
I’ve been here at TGCT for a number of years. The weekly threads usually have scores posted. There was a movement to slow-drip scores to be more realistic, and while I was in favor of that at the time, it doesn’t suit me all that well. I play my rounds in one sitting. A few days from now I won’t remember any details. So I’ll probably just do the traditional post about my tournament score going forward. We can put ‘spoiler’ in the thread title.
I have a feeling Eric, Mark, Chris, Troy, or any of the other top folks will go low this week and be close to -50.

I won’t waste your time adding to that list. But I do hope you some day get it figured out and can just enjoy the competition available here. You are too good a player.

Not I, this week--not disappointed with my play though. Course just played me well. I'll be in the clubhouse earlier than i hoped for on Sunday
